Update: 12/16/24 Seems there have been some value changes I'm not sure 10 minutes isnt a very large sample size but heres the results in around 50ish kills (Cruel act 5) I just finished. 2 uniques, 4 exalt, 1 vaal, 4 regal, 2 alch and an annul. drops seemed weird tho and maybe reduced gold as well? i got A LOT more blue items then i normal did when i ran this before. seems to still be working and im still not convinced this is a "game breaking exploit". :D just a cool powerful farm. Just ran some t10+ maps earlier and made WAY more then i would from this beetle. But for those of us who can't run maps consitently yet this is a great way to build up some currency to buy a few upgrades to help you progress but for sure try to get into maps over this. (SUPER boring as well imo lol. Killed this bug 1k times... im over it lmao) IF/when this gets patched or nerfed ill update the title and thumbnail to reflect that.
@@OmniCrossV1 Hi, also wanted to share my findings when farming this spot for an hour. 6-8 uniques, 14 exalts, 4 vaals, 12 regals, 3 alchs, 1 divine, 4 GCPs, 1 lesser greater orb which equivalents to a value of 35exalts. Exalt or two drops after 5-10 minutes(One time I didn't get a single ex for 12 minutes, then 2 drops from a single kill). The drops from 16hours ago, even though it was nerfed, was much better. I managed to collect slightly less than or equal 60exalts worth of currencies in just 2 hours (A greater jeweller's orb dropped), but I didn't get to loot that much since I need to rest. Fast forward to now, I can definitely say the drops are further reduced. But I agree that this way of farming is still good to earn currencies to buy decent gear for early mapping. I'd rather do maps than spam this as I get to earn XP and progression while also earning tons of exalt along the way. Good luck!

Because they are clearly adjusting the drops and NOT just outright removing/fixing the mechanic im pretty confident they are aware of this farm and are trying their best to balance it without completely removing it which is awesome! Great mid game farm and i think its getting pretty close to where it needs to be. The only real issue is super strong chars one shotting it killing it 300 times an hour vs people who actually "Need" the farm who maybe only kill it once every 30 seconds or so. Hard to balance... Maybe campaign areas are no longer effected by player rarity past 20 levels over the zone or something could be a good counter to this farm and being able to cheese currency. This farm should be strong for lvl 50-65 people but not so strong for lvl 70+ imo. But as you said its super boring so i don't suspect too many people would spend countless hours farming (Obviously some will tho lol)
@greenfoxgrasstail2534 i agree with this. Unintended but enjoy it while it lasts. I personally feel it's bad for the game and would like to see it toned down a little but no reason we shouldn't get some loot while we can. So many other people have been abusing this for days. Just trying to balance the playing field and make sure the "average" player gets a chance at some fun. :D

Abusing bugs to get things, you wont need. Is just wasteful. If i want to make exalted that badly. I probably will sell Ascendancy runs xD. Just do the chaos trial and ask in chat if someone wants to be carried. Just the boss left. Seen people sell pint 5~6 for 8~10 exalts. While point 7~8 go for like 40~50 exalts ... for people that can't do it themself. Yeah the boss gets harder with more people. But when your overleveld and geared... its fast.
Found a new spot also, act 6 in the chimera wetlands near the poison plant spot there is the plant rare next to checkpoint same thing and can drop the 3 floor coin for sanctum!
@donaldwoody7910 probably needs to be toned down just a smidgen lol but I agree! This is fun and you are rewarded for time put in nice dopamine spikes and a semi guaranteed way to progress
@OmniCrossV1 it will definitely get patched. It's good to make videos showing these exploits so that they can be fixed and won't be there for the full game. We are around a year away, and many fixes to be made and classes to be released before full launch that will likely also need their own fixes.
@donaldwoody7910 its not good to replay old under leveled content 100x for loot. Its better to make the rest of the game rewarding so you are always progressing forward and not stopping to "farm" a boss

I needed this, I just finished act 3 on cruel and never got a single upgrade on my cruel playthrough with lvl 45 gear... even got a lvl 11 unique staff from the final boss.... at lvl 65
Confirmed it works with Detonate Dead and Unearth. May work with anything deleting the corpse and letting whatever spawns from it die. I have Raging Spirits and the skulls that spawned didn't seem to matter.
Thanks for the tip. Still working so far ! i will farm all nigth long before the patch. Just one more tip, when using "UNEARTH", you can press g and remove the gem and put back and the scorpions desapear faster ;)
apparently its even better to just use detonate dead to destroy the corpse no wait time at all and no nee to do extra equip unequip steps. Hopefully that speeds things up for you
my char is chaining t15+ maps. Farm is technically better in high end maps, and you also make atlas progress. but tbh this is a nice change of pace. Dont have to think and you get quite a lot of raw currency, makes everything else easy. I can alch/regal my maps forever now. I think I estimate myself at about 25ex/hr at 70% IIR
Variety is the spice of life. Nice to have stuff to ping pong around with. And like you said this is just pretty chill low effort decent rewards. Nice take
pretty sure it's hotfixed, I did this last night and this morning, went to work and got home and got dang near nothing. The gold is a big indicator, went from 100-3000gold per kill, to like a couple hundred, if that.

It's nerfed! The Scarab got lower chance to spawn with 3 or more modifiers now. The rarity of the drops are connected to the number of mods on the rare enemy.If you stay in your old instance of the lost city i think its still possible for 4 moded Scarab.

For anyone wondering if this still works, I've been farming this boss for 2 hours straight from the moment I finished watching this video and buying my rarity find gear, and I've collected around 45 exalts already. This doesn't even include the value of great items when sold or the other currencies you can find. With a Drop Rarity Modifier of 188%, and being able to kill the boss 5-6 times in 1 minute and 30 seconds, I can get 1-2 exalts per 20 kills, which takes 3-4 minutes per cycle. If you're lucky, you can also get GCPs or Lesser Orbs during that time on your way to 20 kills. If you increase your Drop Rarity Modifier to 250% from 188%, you'd earn around 40-65 exalts in 2 hours Good luck! And thanks for this video Omni! Liked & Subscribed!
This seems nerfed for me recently. I was doing it an hour ago, but now when I remove the body and try to check point it logs me out. If i checkpoint while the body is still there it does not log me out. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
i go over this in the video but use detonate dead to destroy the bosses corpse. If you restart checkpoint while your unearthed minions are stilll active it causes a crash you have to wait for them to despawn or just use detonate dead
you can alternatively just shatter it if you want but yeah as long as the body is "Destroyed" in some way you can rerspawn boss over and over. Im on run 46 atm 4 ex a gcp and a divine so far... 964 more runs to go lol. 1k sub grind
you don't HAVE to freeze him its just a way of doing it. Anything that destroys the body works. You can just use detonate dead on the corpse then respawn at checkpoint
You can also farm yellow chests like this. If you get a zone with a checkpoint near a yellow chest, just go get the chest and respawn. Keep getting the chest. I've had one unique drop and exalted orbs amongst tons of other things drop like that when I was running early game. Some zones have a checkpoint before a treasure room. You can't do it on those chests.
@OmniCrossV1 spelling errors bonanza. I fixed. The two zones I recall doing this on were the manor, where the wolf is, and quarry. I think act 1 and 2. Works on both normal and cruel. There were other places too, but I didn't bother, and I am mapping now. Edit: I do remember one chest at quarry that changed from yellow to blue at one point. Only happened once.
the beetle is a guarantee spawn as its technically an "event" it spawns next to the checkpoint and is easy enough to kill as its slow and kind of just walks. It almost seems like by design this was suppose to just be a nice loot pinata. We are all still discovering stuff as the game is still pretty new im sure more places/things like this will be found eventually but for now even tho its been nerfed a few times now this is still a very strong midgame farm imo
I think it already got nerfed, I'm respwaning at checkpoint and my flasks aren't refilling - Same thing for the Dreadnought, fine if you're high level. They also changed the mobs in the dreadnought, was getting easier blues before, now getting a lot of casters and aoe mobs
hopefully so. I think there's a place for it but definitely a bit too strong atm. Pindleskin from d2 on crack right now. cut it in half and not able to drop anything over an ex and it would still be a fun farm to help bridge the gap from campaign to maps especially for ssf people
use detonate dead and if you dont have enough int you cant use the gems so it might not appear for you unless you select all gems at the bottom of the gem selection window
Funny enough i found this out myself but only on standard for now. Got my first alchemy orb from him. Went back and farm him for ex orbs. Just can’t do it fast since I’m only lvl27
I messed around with the idea of finding a repeatable rare mob but doubt i ever would have discovered the whole "Destroy the body" thing on my own. Good find tho. Take your time trust me getting to maps is really overated imo. Game gets a bit less "fun" lategame atm
im sorry but im at the lost city but the checkpoint for the ninth keth seems like it had been changed. because i cleared the whole map and the ninth keth was at the corner. Also the check point where you at
hmm, i dont need to freeze, nor do i need to wait for the rock critters to despawn just kill it, unearth and respawn is all i need (might be that it takes A LOT of resources to respawn while they are active, so it crashes for some?)
Bro its a loot based video game.. Y want it patched we want loot and to farm bosses for it.. I'm sick of killing all these damn bosses and not getting anything... Atleast by farming we have a chance for something to drop..

People are crazy man. We all have different values but i agree this could get cut in half and probably be in a pretty good spot. Don't think it should be removed but definitely needs adjusting. Overall quite bad for the game as is. Why run low tier maps when you can just do this and make 1k ex in a day? I think any reasonable person would agree that's probably not healthy for the game overall. :/
@DavidWoodMusic it's actually not too bad tbh. Just hard for most players to get there with the current state of things and sustaining maps endgame is a bit difficult until you get a fair ammount of atlas passives online. THIS is a very nice stepping stone from campaign to maps tho imo
@ I did this for about 4 hours today while listening to an audio book and the drops were absolutely insane. No reason to even try mapping right now when you can do this to hella juice your build.
@reks890 Pretty sure rarity doesn't effect currency and if it's the same as poe 1 then it definately doesn't but rarity will help get more rares and uniques wich both can sell for quite a lot if you get some nice rolls
I got 14 in a hour so it still works for sure!!! But my friend did it at the same time and he only got 1 in a hour 😂😂😂😂😂 he was complaining the whole time
@OmniCrossV1 nothing too crazy, I'm only level 28 on my first playthrough with low drop rarity. I got a bunch of orbs and some upgrades for my current gear amd some loot for other toons. And only 1 unique.
I have no reason to believe rarity effects currency. Im under the impression its like poe 1 but no clue tbh. Rairity does help with more rares and uniques and this bug likes to drop uniques for sure.
@tehlitepker cut the drops in half and the farm would be in a good spot imo. But currently I can farm 1k ex in 10 hours as is 1 shooting a bug from act 5... that's probably too strong imo
nope just extra is all. Cruel is much better than normal and i wouldn't recommend the farm unless you are able to kill the bug reasonably fast. If in normal and slow time to kill maybe not super value but cruel and fast kill speed its pretty insane
@deeeezzz912 on the high end of things no not even close. But if you are having trouble finishing campaign or breaking into maps then this is probably the most powerfulmidgame farm available atm

@@deeeezzz912 you really have to focus your mapping around the boss map nodes. run whatever tier you need to complete your atlas quest for all the "travel" nodes. juice up your highest tier maps that you can safely do for all boss nodes.
This shouldn't be considered a bug or be patched... This is a PVE game about loot this stuff should be left in the game and not touched this game is already boring af and rarely ever see loot.. I want to find loot in my looter game smh... D4 and games like borderlands does loot perfect this game not at all.
maybe similar as diablo 2? Diminishing returns after a certain breakpoint meaning the first 100% rarity is more "Value" than the next 200% Hopefully that makes sense and obviously just talking crap not actually suggesting that's the case. Could be cool info to data mine eventually

just use a low level skill gem and make detonate dead. If it doesn't show up for you its probably because you don't meet the stat requirement to use it. You might need to get a few int nodes on the passive tree. Select "All gems" at the bottom of the skill selection area bottom left of the screen to show up other types of gems not just warrior or red
unearth is lv low skill. maybe you dont see the skill, you have to click "All skills" and "show all" or something like that in the skill selection screen.

zero investment in terms of maps, zero risk of death, low equipment requirements. if you have a strong fast build you can farm just as much if not more from this then t10+ maps on repeat. But yeah a hyper late game min maxed t15 char in juiced maps will out perform this for sure.
nerfed ? i dont think its as good as people say it is... ur better off just farming the entire map, resetting and going again.. u will find a lot more that way then just resetting on this mob... it barely ever gets more then 2 affixes on it, and it only ever drops ok loot at 4 affixes, after 20 attempts, i got 1 time with more then 3 affixes.
well, its a safe way to farm some people struggle to get further, and need a little break from power leveling and just farming a bit did you try on cruel or normal?

This is the kind of stuff that I want in my loot games. Spawn points outside of bosses and mini bosses so that I can farm them.

For anyone wondering if this still works, I've been farming this boss for 2 hours straight from the moment I finished watching this video and buying my rarity find gear, and I've collected around 45 exalts already. This doesn't even include the value of great items when sold or the other currencies you can find.
With a Drop Rarity Modifier of 188%, and being able to kill the boss 5-6 times in 1 minute and 30 seconds, I can get 1-2 exalts per 20 kills, which takes 3-4 minutes per cycle. If you're lucky, you can also get GCPs or Lesser Orbs during that time on your way to 20 kills.
If you increase your Drop Rarity Modifier to 250% from 188%, you'd earn around 40-65 exalts in 2 hours

This seems nerfed for me recently. I was doing it an hour ago, but now when I remove the body and try to check point it logs me out. If i checkpoint while the body is still there it does not log me out. Is anyone else seeing this behavior?
i go over this in the video but use detonate dead to destroy the bosses corpse. If you restart checkpoint while your unearthed minions are stilll active it causes a crash you have to wait for them to despawn or just use detonate dead
@@OmniCrossV1 Interesting i didn't have that issue initially. For now I found it is just as fast to let myself die on the little beetles.

You can do that in normal too, i dont think it is bugged though, you need unearth, res him for zombies then respawn the checkpoint
you can alternatively just shatter it if you want but yeah as long as the body is "Destroyed" in some way you can rerspawn boss over and over. Im on run 46 atm 4 ex a gcp and a divine so far... 964 more runs to go lol. 1k sub grind

if you use the profane ritueal skill to remove the dead body, i find that theres not crash on reset

you don't HAVE to freeze him its just a way of doing it. Anything that destroys the body works. You can just use detonate dead on the corpse then respawn at checkpoint
You can also farm yellow chests like this. If you get a zone with a checkpoint near a yellow chest, just go get the chest and respawn. Keep getting the chest. I've had one unique drop and exalted orbs amongst tons of other things drop like that when I was running early game.
Some zones have a checkpoint before a treasure room. You can't do it on those chests.
Perfect a great strat for people with even completely bricked builds to farm. No killing even needed

The two zones I recall doing this on were the manor, where the wolf is, and quarry. I think act 1 and 2. Works on both normal and cruel. There were other places too, but I didn't bother, and I am mapping now.
Edit: I do remember one chest at quarry that changed from yellow to blue at one point. Only happened once.

Why is this the best mini for it? Does the beetle have some special mods to make this the best place? Nothing similar in let's say act 3?
the beetle is a guarantee spawn as its technically an "event" it spawns next to the checkpoint and is easy enough to kill as its slow and kind of just walks. It almost seems like by design this was suppose to just be a nice loot pinata. We are all still discovering stuff as the game is still pretty new im sure more places/things like this will be found eventually but for now even tho its been nerfed a few times now this is still a very strong midgame farm imo

I think it already got nerfed, I'm respwaning at checkpoint and my flasks aren't refilling - Same thing for the Dreadnought, fine if you're high level. They also changed the mobs in the dreadnought, was getting easier blues before, now getting a lot of casters and aoe mobs
They def gonna nerf this when the boys are back in the office Monday
hopefully so. I think there's a place for it but definitely a bit too strong atm. Pindleskin from d2 on crack right now. cut it in half and not able to drop anything over an ex and it would still be a fun farm to help bridge the gap from campaign to maps especially for ssf people

use detonate dead and if you dont have enough int you cant use the gems so it might not appear for you unless you select all gems at the bottom of the gem selection window

Funny enough i found this out myself but only on standard for now. Got my first alchemy orb from him. Went back and farm him for ex orbs. Just can’t do it fast since I’m only lvl27
I messed around with the idea of finding a repeatable rare mob but doubt i ever would have discovered the whole "Destroy the body" thing on my own. Good find tho. Take your time trust me getting to maps is really overated imo. Game gets a bit less "fun" lategame atm
im sorry but im at the lost city but the checkpoint for the ninth keth seems like it had been changed. because i cleared the whole map and the ninth keth was at the corner. Also the check point where you at
the map changes all the time, and depending on the timing the scarab could have walked a bit away
I tried this in Act 2 for about 2 hours today and I only got two Exhalted Orbs and no uniques 😢

People are crazy man. We all have different values but i agree this could get cut in half and probably be in a pretty good spot. Don't think it should be removed but definitely needs adjusting. Overall quite bad for the game as is. Why run low tier maps when you can just do this and make 1k ex in a day? I think any reasonable person would agree that's probably not healthy for the game overall. :/

@DavidWoodMusic it's actually not too bad tbh. Just hard for most players to get there with the current state of things and sustaining maps endgame is a bit difficult until you get a fair ammount of atlas passives online. THIS is a very nice stepping stone from campaign to maps tho imo
@ I did this for about 4 hours today while listening to an audio book and the drops were absolutely insane. No reason to even try mapping right now when you can do this to hella juice your build.

@reks890 Pretty sure rarity doesn't effect currency and if it's the same as poe 1 then it definately doesn't but rarity will help get more rares and uniques wich both can sell for quite a lot if you get some nice rolls

I think it already got patched? I farmed for 15 min and no exalt orbs. Still many rare items and chao orbs though
not patched still working just expected to have bad rng here and there. Went 52 runs dry and then had 3 in 5 kills right after. Still working

I have no reason to believe rarity effects currency. Im under the impression its like poe 1 but no clue tbh. Rairity does help with more rares and uniques and this bug likes to drop uniques for sure.

nope just extra is all. Cruel is much better than normal and i wouldn't recommend the farm unless you are able to kill the bug reasonably fast. If in normal and slow time to kill maybe not super value but cruel and fast kill speed its pretty insane

@deeeezzz912 on the high end of things no not even close. But if you are having trouble finishing campaign or breaking into maps then this is probably the most powerfulmidgame farm available atm

my char is chaining t15+ maps. Farm is technically better in high end maps, and you also make atlas progress. but tbh this is a nice change of pace. Dont have to think and you get quite a lot of raw currency, makes everything else easy. I can alch/regal my maps forever now

@@deeeezzz912 you really have to focus your mapping around the boss map nodes. run whatever tier you need to complete your atlas quest for all the "travel" nodes. juice up your highest tier maps that you can safely do for all boss nodes.

This shouldn't be considered a bug or be patched... This is a PVE game about loot this stuff should be left in the game and not touched this game is already boring af and rarely ever see loot.. I want to find loot in my looter game smh... D4 and games like borderlands does loot perfect this game not at all.

maybe similar as diablo 2? Diminishing returns after a certain breakpoint meaning the first 100% rarity is more "Value" than the next 200% Hopefully that makes sense and obviously just talking crap not actually suggesting that's the case. Could be cool info to data mine eventually

just use a low level skill gem and make detonate dead. If it doesn't show up for you its probably because you don't meet the stat requirement to use it. You might need to get a few int nodes on the passive tree. Select "All gems" at the bottom of the skill selection area bottom left of the screen to show up other types of gems not just warrior or red
unearth is lv low skill. maybe you dont see the skill, you have to click "All skills" and "show all" or something like that in the skill selection screen.

it only works on things that has a body which can be removed, and most bosses do not afaik

not bad farm, but still better to do high tier maps
zero investment in terms of maps, zero risk of death, low equipment requirements. if you have a strong fast build you can farm just as much if not more from this then t10+ maps on repeat. But yeah a hyper late game min maxed t15 char in juiced maps will out perform this for sure.

nerfed ? i dont think its as good as people say it is... ur better off just farming the entire map, resetting and going again.. u will find a lot more that way then just resetting on this mob... it barely ever gets more then 2 affixes on it, and it only ever drops ok loot at 4 affixes, after 20 attempts, i got 1 time with more then 3 affixes.
