A lot of these big cons should just expand to one entire week. The crowds are definitely big enough to support it and it might bring the hotel room prices down.
I definitely think they will make Wednesday an additional day for the cons (at least in New York City). For sure you will see other cons and or signings or whatever else following suit if they can. I agree with you about the weekly convention stuff. It would be really good if they made the cons a week long experience. Especially for a big city like New York imagine that alone also increasing tourism revenue for the city. 4 days is really good for cons but a week would be great.
