I agree with what you're sayinh to a certain extent but it's the sound of vehicles that top it for me. Take B7RLE Eclipse 2s, they're very powerful and smooth but they just don't sound special enough. I'm a massive petrol head and it's the same story with cars, I want to hear a unique individual noise. I'm not bothered about how they are powered necessarily, I just want vehicles to be fun.
The things is, I love these MMC BYDs as the motor is clear and concise so you can really hear it at speed even from the outside.. however other electric counterparts aren’t so characteristic like the BZLs which it why I get turned off with those
