      Have to disagree on that one. Phil had a much more complete physique than Kevin, especially in his first 2-4 Olympia titles. The two major differences are legs and back. Phil was much more complete in those two departments IMHO. Look up comparison pics and i think you'll agree. From the front it's a close race..i always say phil is like kevin levine 2.0, and i mean that as a sincere compliment. Im 43, so i literally grew up watching this guy. I always thought he was the closest threat to dethroning Yates back in the 90's. Flex wheeler Shawn Ray and Nassar also gave Yates a scare especially the years he was injured in 95,97.
      What's so impressive to me is the fact that Levrone is MANHANDLING 315-405 on the flat and incline like its 135, 2 weeks before the show. Clean, controlled, and full depth on the reps to boot. I watch his 96-98 training videos before the gym all the time..still impressive to this day.

      Well that legend is absolutely wrong.
      Not knocking Kevin, he looked amazing, but Phil had the best body by far and only a novice would think otherwise. Kevin never had legs or back even remotely close to Phils

      I think he took it as serious as Dorian, thats unfair, hes a world top 5.iffbb pro, cant get more serious, and even if he trained all year Dorian may well have won still, but its subjective Kevin won basically everything he entered except mr O and he came second in that and on another day could have been 1st, in that time when dorian came in with lats like fucking wings no one stood a chance , i love dorian, hes my favorkte BB of all time, but his arms were fucked after the bicep tear, so did he deserve the wins with arms all over the place? Did he deserve 6 mr O. I think.4. But what do i know. Nassir and flex shoud have won. Not shawn ray the whinging bell end.

    • @dj_m1999
      @dj_m1999 2 года назад +1

      @@bumbleofthefluff4418 I agree with everything you said but you also have to admit that Levrone was a mish mash bodybuilder, in other words; inconsistent. One show he would show up looking diced and great, the very next one few weeks afterwards he would be significantly off. We all know the stories of him not training for months and months on end, just playing with his band and all that. Did Yates ever do that? no, he trained every day for the entire year and had regulated nutrition plan all year round.
      Levrone was lazy when it came to shredding down, he admitted to it himself. After 1992 Olympia he said to himself that it's not worth it. After not beating Yates at his best he also said that he stopped going hard on leg days, that it wouldn't make a difference anyway, he'd place 2nd with or without great legs. That's why his later versions are so criticized for undersized legs.

    • @dj_m1999
      @dj_m1999 2 года назад +1

      @@bumbleofthefluff4418 Of course Yates deserved it, biceps are 1, tiny body part that play a major role in only 2 out of 7 mandatory poses. In the back double the biceps are being swallowed by the back and the legs in importance and exposure. Doesn't matter how fucked up Yates' left bicep was, the rest of his physique was well ahead of others to win him at least 4 out of 7 mandatory poses.
      You're gonna tell me anyone wins a front or back lat spread against Yates? Where's the bicep in those poses? Not even flexed, you can't see the injury, Side tricep? same story. Again for the back double, his back was so far ahead of everyone that it didn't matter if he didn't have peaky biceps. In 1995 Yates beat Levrone in the side chest, one of Levrone's strongest poses so go figure.

And this is not always like this example the plates might be the exactly same weight in some or most(some or most because I don't have enough evidence) cases. I just can guarantee for my example, it's different from company to company and although they say that they weigh the same, like I said there can be some minor differences in the weights. Not only on the plates also the machines,cables and maybe the dumbbells which I think that the dumbbells are the most accurate in all gyms if we pick all the gym equipment.
