What I like about Sandara is being humble and never forget the Filipino language although many Filipinos living abroad now tend to forget the language and embrace other foreign languages. Thats the reality.

That's true. Nk Punta lng ng America at Europe Hndi na daw Alam mg Salitang tagalog. To be honest. My father work in Kuwait for more than 40+yrs 10 yrs in US navy but he never forget his native language (chavacano) 82 na Ang father ko. Pg kami ng uusap ng father ko, we speak chavacano. We are from zamboanga city.

It's not even just because we forget the language. We lose our accents and our language because our families integrate us and want us to speak English. In the US, us Fil-Ams struggle with being connected to our culture and heritage. We struggle with the fact that we were never taught Tagalog. We struggle with our brothers and sisters back in PI judging us all the time. I once had a tita who just loved to point out my short comings as a Filipina. We were on a road trip. Traveling with my tita and tito, her kids, and our lola. My lola was just talking to me. I just responded with "opo". My tita was like "is that all you know? 'opo'?". I felt like shit after that and it's not like I could go to the room to get away, being on a road trip. The only thing I could say was "...yeah.." in a defeated way.
Being a second generation Filipino-American is absolute struggle. It's a struggle that everyone back in P.I. will never understand.

Like in korea, we have also local dialects and sub dialects with in dialect. Tagalog is the national dialect spoken in philippines. There are 5 major dialects in philippines. CEBUANO is the second largest dialect spoken in philippines. Spoken in some parts of visayas and mindanao

Cebuano, Ilocano, Waray, Tagalog, and Hiligaynon / Ilonggo are called regional languages not dialects. Dialects are the variety of those languages. For example, the dialects or variety of Tagalog like the Batangas Tagalog, Bulacan Tagalog, & Manila Tagalog.
