Two typies of artic drivers -- those who have gotten stuck, and those who will. Great job not turning it into an all-out accident. Also, bonus points for knowing how to use the difflock. I don't know about over there, but over here in the US, you ask stuck drivers if they have their difflock engagned, and too many of them go, "What?". Looking forward to Part II. 🚚

Hi Linda . I know what your saying. Up here in Canada all roads are salted subdivisions side roads . Looks like Scotland only do the free ways . But of course our winters are more severe. As a bare minimum, it should be a legal requirement for all HGVs and emergency service vehicles to use winter tyres, and carry snow chains with them, by law from November-March in the UK.
Summer tyres are just useless. They provide absolutely no grip, and just keep spinning the wheels, as shown in your video.
I've been all over the Alps, and to Norway and Finland in the Arctic Circle. Even at -35c,the trucks still run like normal there. People chain up, but everything keeps moving.

I am owner driver but come early November till end march I put on winter tyres as going all over Highlands of Scotland in winter can get very tricky damp polished snow catches out a lot of drivers as there's little or no grip .I went many years ago to a farm in Aberdeenshire and had year round tyres on and got stuck like you on small hill the farmer came to pull me up . He said laddy you got baffys on trying to drive on winter roads (baffys are slippers by the way ) naw woner you canna drive you truck in the snaw that always stuck in my mind years later. I also have snow chains . Very very rare do I get stuck now . I worked for 4 years in Norway driving artic trucks it's the law that you must have winter tyres and snow chains cannot drive very well without them in Norway going over the hadadavinger mountain
