      That’s insane, I hope they were the highest trims and even then that’s too expensive. I purchased a cross a few days ago for 27700 out the door, model L of course, no market adjustment. They had none in the lot and it was a incoming unit.

      Im going in to pick up my Toyota Cross LE today from the dealer I got mine for 31K they kept trying to sell me on 35K I said No every time I negotiated with them for about 1hr, I was not afraid to ask them about MSRP pricing they have to answer you. The Price for a Toyota Corolla Cross LE is around 26,785 and they want 35K for it. Why? why should I pay all that mark up. I said No every time until they agreed to all my terms and also agreed to accept 31K but I also trade in my 2019 Chr which they desperately wanted. Do your research and act knowledgeable & Negotiate Negotiate Negotiate until YOU'RE happy.

      @@mssbal4 the one I purchased had a 1098 mandatory tint and fabric protection package, but I told them no. They eventually called be back at a 500 dollar markup, told them no. Few hours passed and they agreed to msrp. I have never purchased a vehicle with a markup. It’s msrp or no deal now days. People need to learn to walk if they do not want to meet you there. I wanted to buy a NX200t before the cross but it was over priced at a Lexus dealer. I made them a real offer at what the average market value. They called me the next day and wouldn’t budge. The suv is still at their lot and haven’t been able to move it.

Most people my age don't care less for all the tech lol. I listen to 2 radios station and my wife streams her music. Oh, we know how to read a map too lol. Refusing to take deposits sounds like common sense to me if the queue is too long.
      Here in Australia, Toyota has a 2-2.5yr waiting list for the Rav4 Hybrid, but they’re still accepting deposits. They can’t guarantee the price nor even the model year and features you would be offered. Who are these buyers getting into a 2yr+ queue for a lucky dip outcome?

    • @DD-no2im
      @DD-no2im Год назад

      @@MaxFromSydney1 Ebbett Toyota rep said the deposit is fully refundable if you don't like the price/build of the car. We also have a 2.5 year wait for Rav4 hybrid here in NZ. Corolla Cross GX hybrid (lowest spec) is the only SUV hybrid range allowing pre orders, and even then delivery isn't expected until September. I'm tempted to just buy a Qashqai or a Honda HR V 😮‍💨

    I was considering these cars in addition to a few Subaru models, due to re entering the workforce at 60 and having to commute. I live in a rural area with crappy roads that dont get salted or plowed. Makes it hard to impossible to reach main highway.
    But circumstances changed as they often do at this age.
    So I need to find something under $20k, reliable and AWD.
    I found a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 with just under 30,000 miles, 1 owner, no accidents reported. Dealer wants $17,500. Seems high to me for used vehicle, but its in line with other dealer prices etc.
    I also need the roominess as i have two large dogs and also have to haul stuff like horsefeed, so a sedan won't work.
    Is it worth paying 5-8 k more for newer car with more miles and possibly more headaches?
    Base model Rav 4 has no tech or turbo to break down.
    Any opinions?
