Got a 23 hybrid Rav 4 a couple weeks ago, really liking how quiet it runs and have been averaging 35+ MPG and the ride is super smooth. My mother is picking up the Cross today, great video breaking down the vehicles.
The Cross is for people my age, 60+, and no kids to haul. Maybe few things ngs from the store or couple of boxes now and then. It's convenient, comfy, and does the job. Best comment!😂 I have Corolla Cross with rear camera. And anyway I always look in my mirrors and turn my head. I look for camera only for parking close to wall etc.
i have a corolla cross with 2.0 engine. i use extreme driving style to get 5.0L/100km, which is 47 MPG. i never go over 100km/h, seldom let the engine go over 2500rpm when accelerating and hyper mill when ever possible. so l smile when i see the gas pump, and its a different kind of fun to squeeze for MPG.
I'm in New Zealand and the Rav4 is sold out everywhere, can't even pre order. We will likely get a Corolla Cross Hybrid. The version we test drove was a hybrid and looked just like the regular petrol version you had in this vid. Do you know when that updated look hybrid is being released? Also, yes, he WAS pissing!! 😂😂😂 all those trees and he's pissing on his door like a child 😢😂. Stayed for the content, subscribed for the humour!
Refusing to take deposits sounds like common sense to me if the queue is too long. Here in Australia, Toyota has a 2-2.5yr waiting list for the Rav4 Hybrid, but they’re still accepting deposits. They can’t guarantee the price nor even the model year and features you would be offered. Who are these buyers getting into a 2yr+ queue for a lucky dip outcome?
@@MaxFromSydney1 Ebbett Toyota rep said the deposit is fully refundable if you don't like the price/build of the car. We also have a 2.5 year wait for Rav4 hybrid here in NZ. Corolla Cross GX hybrid (lowest spec) is the only SUV hybrid range allowing pre orders, and even then delivery isn't expected until September. I'm tempted to just buy a Qashqai or a Honda HR V 😮💨
The rav became too popular and toyota made it expensive and its no longer affordable by the same target market as its predecessors so it introduced the cross to fill that affordability hole
Thanks, I don’t know just yet, Toyota seems to have a lot going on for 2024 so I think the RAV4 may drag on until 2025 but I could definitely be wrong (this is just my hunch)
I was considering these cars in addition to a few Subaru models, due to re entering the workforce at 60 and having to commute. I live in a rural area with crappy roads that dont get salted or plowed. Makes it hard to impossible to reach main highway. But circumstances changed as they often do at this age. So I need to find something under $20k, reliable and AWD. I found a 2011 Toyota Rav 4 with just under 30,000 miles, 1 owner, no accidents reported. Dealer wants $17,500. Seems high to me for used vehicle, but its in line with other dealer prices etc. I also need the roominess as i have two large dogs and also have to haul stuff like horsefeed, so a sedan won't work. Is it worth paying 5-8 k more for newer car with more miles and possibly more headaches? Base model Rav 4 has no tech or turbo to break down. Any opinions?

I have a 2019 RAV4 LE, and I don't like it. It's way too big, and the suspension is too soft. I would like to look at a Corolla Cross L, but I can't find one in southwest Ohio to actually look at and drive. I haven't seen a Cross on the street. Also, I think the Cross is much better looking than the RAV.
Because these 2 SUVs look so, so very similar, it would have made the video's contents much better to follow if you were able to get 2 different colors. Please, please, keep this suggestion in mind. After all, the exact purpose of this video is to compare and contrast, yes? I was trying real hard to observe the many mentioned points, but I am sorry, I got very frustrated😢 Just real practical suggestion to benefit all of us. Corolla cross is perfectly priced in a way that people will buy Rav 4. Good work Toyota
Corolla Cross should start at $20K
It should but with the economy, it ain’t gonna start at that.
