Lin's backhand is soooo powerful. Fan's serve is good enough but Lin just smash it by his powerful backhand, just one hit. I have never seen such powerful backhand after Zhang Jike. Wow, wanderful game!🎉
How does Fan Zhendong do it? The number of times he wins after being so much down is astonishing. Also, the umpire faulted Fan Zhendong for the serve even though Lin Shidong's ball tosses were even less vertical.

Lin got a faulted serve somewhere near the game point in the second last game or else. I watched the live stream. But I think there are more serves are more "faulty" than those raised by the umpire.
Yeah, this time Fan was able to escape the loss but it's clear that hes days as undisputed number #1 are gone. Lin Shidong and Wang Chuqin will keep bringing him problem more and more as they're younger and hungrier for big titles.
There are two things Lin shidong need to improve, one is unforced errors control and the other is mindset stability. He lost most of points by himself not by Fan.

I remember people talking bullshit like Fan will one day best Ma in great titles and accomplishments. That has never been more wrong, Fan has been in bad shape for quite some time now and there is no one more successful against foreign players than Ma Long. He will never best Ma Long, which was already proven when he lost the Olympic final against him in 2020. That was his chance and he blew it making the goat the goat forever. WCQ will best Fan surely in 2024 and others are already creeping in from behind. If I were Chinese coach I would prolly send WCQ and Ma Long to Olympic singles because they surely will pull through until the finals.
