R142’s won’t be running on the 42nd Street Shuttle anytime soon but the R262’s will when they come in, although their construction won’t be until after the R211 order is complete, possibly around 2025-26. Meanwhile the R142/A’s will undergo a mid-life overhaul which could include new features, and both the R143’s and R160’s will follow suit.

The S train in car 7171 looks cool, but I wish I'd also see it in an r142a.
