I really love my Numa 2X for Rhodes and Wurly, and mellotron! But the piano isn't pretty bad..This Studio logic has a much better sample resolution. Thanks for sharing.

What kind of piano you played with the Viscount?

compared to 88 keys: the Viscount comes along about 2500 € (you have to pay for each sound modul separatly!), by a weight of 18,8 kg. The Numa Piano X 88 comes along about 1300€ !!! by a weight of 14 kg. You get what you pay for.... But in the end: next to the sound, the action is the most important thing - you have to try, to play it for hours!!!

I like the form factor of the Viscount with the flat top. I think I like Numa’s Rhodes better.
I thought the opposite just goes to show how subjective this comparison is!
Great presentation. When it comes to natural sound my fave trio is Viscount - Dexibell - Kurzweil
I'm not feeling that hype for Numa or Nord. They always sound either colored or compressed to me.

Hye Arnaud. I've had the Numa X 73 for 3 days: very disapointed !
Bad touch, compaired to my SL73 !!! (that's the surprise). Most of the sounds are ok, but only 4 parameters to modify the sound, and i never had the "whaoou" feeling in trying it.
I thought initialy it could be a very useful and compact tool, but, at the end...it's gone back to the shop !
Still prefer my "mute" SL73, one day i may go for the Legend !

Merci pour l'info sur le NumaX. Je ne suis pas surpris. J'ai aussi un SL73 que j'utilise en live avec un Roland integra7. J'étais tenté par le numaX mais les vidéos ne m'ont pas convaincu. Je n'aime pas les ordis sur scène, alors je rêve de nouveaux expandeurs pour pouvoir avoir les sons du yamaha CP88 ou du Korg Kronos. Mais apparemment, les firmes ne travaillent pas sur ce genre de produits. Dommage.
Dis-moi, tu joues quels sons avec ton SL73 ? Expandeur ou logiciels ?
Et aussi, parfois avec le SL73, j'ai le sustain qui reste bloqué sur 1 note. C'est pas souvent mais c'est pénible. Est-ce que tu as aussi ce genre de problème ?
@@arnaudchabo Salut Arnaud. Alors, comme toi, je voulais éviter l'ordi sur scène.
je suis donc parti depuis 2 ans sur une MPC Live, après des années de mao exclusivement (Reason et Ableton Live). C'est un workflow "particulier" mais une fois adopté, pas de soucis.
Initialement, je voyais surtout la MPC comme un séquenceur hard.
Mais avec les nombreux développements qui ont été faits, c'est devenu un vrai expandeur, avec bien évidemment tout ce qui est samples avec des programmes, mais maintenant avec des plugins comme le Hype qui sonnent plutôt bien !
Bref, c'est une machine à tout faire (nombreux effets intégrés), sampler à la "robot" pour autosampler des machines hard, sorties séparées, écran tactile, etc...
Mon setup actuel: le SL73, relié à la MPC, avec un A1R rack également.
Avec le SL, je peux adresser l'un ou l'autre, faire des layers/splits etc...
Depuis peu, je teste la MPC en mode controleur, c'est à dire via le soft MPC Software sur mon mac.
La MPC garde toutes ses fonctionnalités en doublon avec le soft, avec l'avantage de pouvoir ajouter des plugins vsti. En utilisation standalone (la MPC toute seule, sans ordi), j'utilise des programmes samples pour ce qui est "classique" (Piano /EP / strings...) de mon ex MODX.
Mais, c'est pas top, et je pense à reprendre un clavier "généraliste", soit Modx 6/7, soit SP6-7, afin de rester sur une machine légère et compacte , avec de bons sons généralistes.

@@EricCorminier merci Eric. A ce que je vois, je suis pas tout seul à galérer un peu pour trouver le setup idéal à balader de scènes en scènes. Je suis pas loin de penser moi aussi au modx7. Le toucher synthé me rebute un peu mais au moins, ce sont des claviers fiables et indestructibles. J'ai eu une mauvaise expérience avec le CP73.
(c'est drôle, je me demande si nous n'avions pas déjà échangé sur ce sujet sur un autre fil de commentaire)

C'est clair qu'un MODX ou un Kronos en version desktop, celà aurait fait au moins 2 heureux !! 🙂

Gotta love the irony here...The Viscount sounds 2X better at 2X the price than the Numa
viscount is flat on the top, perfect for 2 keyboard on top and sound little better in my opinion.
Viscount has the sonic edge but not by much. The Numa X is a better rig for the keyboardist on the go and cost considerably less.
I would say by a lot, the Numa is cool though and on a gig it would be great. The Viscount is much more dynamic sound and very open without being overly bright. That is tough to get with just EQ , the Numa sounds compressed and slightly dark in the attack , which is not bad and can work in a lot of situations but eq is not gonna get it open and big sounding like the Viscount. Also listen for the low end on the Viscount vs the Numa. The Numa is much thinner over all compared to the Viscount. The Viscount just has a better sound stage more 3d and more responsive. If money is an issue get an SV2, it is the best sounding set of Keys in its price range and then some, full sounding and a lot of sound shaping power. Sounds like a set of good mics on a well built piano. Dont be fooled by over compressed and over produced hype sounding pianos in other brands. Sounds like that tend to be over done and crispy not much room for creative editing to get the sound in your head. The Viscount has a well balanced sound for any type of music and is in my opinion the best overall sounding and priced Keyboard/Piano on the market. It is future proof.
