I was a big Rams/Gabriel fan back then (loved their blue and white helmets) along with being a Steelers fan (freshman in HS). Went to this game alone and froze my butt off in the end zone upper deck! Great memory. I also got to go to the '72 Immaculate Reception game (by accident) - Franco caught the ball up off the ground and ran right into the end zone where I was sitting with my cousin Pete (was a total madhouse!!!)
@Matt Joseph That would’ve been a whole different story had Rod Perry at least a tiny piece of that Terry Bradshaw Bomb to John Stallworth in the 4th Quarter. Remember, the Los Angeles Rams were up 19-17 after 3 Quarters and was leading all through Super Bowl XIV until that Bomb which changed the complexion of the game.
@@killalltogepis9916 Even though The Injured Rams led for 3 Quarters of the game. Rod Perry came within an eyelash of deflecting that Bomb to John Stallworth which very much was the turning point of Super Bowl XIV.
2:24-2:41 Steelers' Larry Brown (87) was on all four Super Bowl Championship teams, the first two as a tight end, the other two as an offensive tackle.
Would of, could of, should of.........all theses butthurt Rams fans on here.......we won when it counted and do your research. The Rams had two Steelers assistant coaches on their staff. So they knew the playbook and still couldn't stop that 31-19 loss so deal with it (😅😅😅😅)

The Raiders like to call that the Immaculate Deception
You are correct. The ball was picked up off the ground and illegally ran in for a TD.
The one thing I remember about this game. Actress Carmen McRae sang the Anthem
The Steelers wouldn’t lose another game at home to an NFC opponent until 1981 against the 49ers.
The Eventual Super Bowl Champion San Francisco 49ers.
so the only NFC teams in a 10 year period to beat the Steelers at home were two California teams
The first of the 3 times the Los Angeles Rams defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers in the 1970’s.
1971 ( 1975, 1978 at the Coliseum)

That’s correct!

Well, at least the Steelers won the most important matchup they played in during the 1970s.

Terry Bradshaw's first 2 seasons were tough
