The Metal Blade one has been sitting in my basket for a good six years 🤣 On the music bio side, I’d definitely recommend Sebastian Bach’s, just for the sheer honesty he brings to the book. It’s a pretty fun read! Another one that might pique your interest is The Secret Life of a Satanist, Anton LaVey’s biography written by Blanche Barton, his confidant and administrator of the Church of Satan. His life was absolutely bizarre, especially his connections to Hollywood and American culture-bonus points for the mention of King Diamond in the book. And one of my main goals this year is to self-release my first album under Paranoia Church this summer. It’s a horror-themed Traditional Metal project, so I think it fits the bill. 😉 Cheers! I read the Hot Zone back in 2013 or so, great GREAT novel. It not only details the real event in the US but is also a criticism of the US government at the time for sweeping this incident under the rug. One of the best medical thriller books I've ever read.
If you want some sludge metal to listen to after the Doomed To Fail book, I recommend D.A.M.N. By Greenmachine and Torso by Grief. Very underrated sludge albums ^^

For horror book, I recommend Relic by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. This is the synopsis: Just days before a massive exhibition opens at the popular New York Museum of Natural History, visitors are being savagely murdered in the museum's dark hallways and secret rooms. Autopsies indicate that the killer cannot be human... But the museum's directors plan to go ahead with a big bash to celebrate the new exhibition, in spite of the murders. Museum researcher Margo Green must find out who-or what-is doing the killing. But can she do it in time to stop the massacre?
I miss the days when people weren’t glued to their phones and shoving iPads in their kids faces just to keep them quite 🤣 I also wish I had been an adult during the age of vinyl/cassettes and print media because I prefer physical over digital every time.
If you're interested in horror that will fuck with your head on a primal cosmic horror level, I recommend Lovecraft (obvs), Thomas Ligotti, Matthew M. Bartlett, Jon Padgett, John Langan, Laird Barron, Philp Fracassi and Brian Evenson. Dunno what would be considered a "metal" horror book per se, but those authors push the envelope on what is truly disturbing.
