Oh boy a 300 car train with 4 DPU ALRIGHTS UP units at that with NS AC44C6M and NS ES44AC GEVO leading the head end and 2 UP units mid DPU and 2 more UP units at the tail end of the train.
@@WideWorldofTrains I got a video of a long Eastbound Coal Train with 7 engines with 5 DPU's ALRIGHTS its on my channel it's about 8 1/2 minutes long go check it out. Thanks
One time on one of my mom's trips to Florida we were on our way home and we stopped at a railroad crossing and when I saw there were five high-powered locomotives on the head end I told her shut the car off Mom we're going to be here for a while. We sat there 15 minutes and I counted the cars and it was 275 cars. Of course it was the hold for tonnage people who destroyed the service the railroads were famous for. Short lines always gave great service because that's all they had to offer. The Long Island Railroad handled 8000 freightcar loads a year until they sold it to New York and Atlantic. The transit authority was used to the 8,000 carloads the Long Island wood handle. The New York and Atlantic gave such great service to their shippers that their carloads went to 37,000 per year. The transit authority was not used to having so much Freight traffic. When you give good service to your shipper your business increases, they had one shipper who said I called them up to say my car was empty come get it and within our they came and got it. Now that's good customer service.
Wow never in my lifetime have I seen any train that long and heavy, good work WWOT. Those 4 DPUs were really working hard. They were really down on their knees. Especially the ACE on the rear. I never would have thought it possible to run a train that big, just amazing. Thanks, & DPU alright ! 🚂👍🏼👍🏼😱
A great way to kick off today's video with a mega train; 3 miles long, 300 cars, 4 DPU's and it's a NS train to boot. How long has it been since we have seen something like that from NS!!!?? I think the Wide World of Trains car is making the rounds in the North East. Maybe we will see a Jaw Tooth or Kansas Missouri Rail Fan car some day.
Thank you for a great video ! I thoroughly enjoyed the car chase of the NS train with 6 locomotives . Delighted to see you back trackside, and trust you are now fully recovered. Very best wishes.
I Was the conductor on that W10, it had 252 cars. It was just shy of 36,000 tons. Biggest train I've ever been on. It was only 2½ miles long. Thats really big for a bulk commodity train.
Never seen a up unit with red lights up high between the windshield. I used to see or hear over the radio those 250 car plus long sand trains more frequently years ago till there was an administration change in Washington.
DPU alright Union Pacific in the middle of the Train of North fork southern locomotives in front long Train nice asome fun nice video Love Union Pacific and all the Trains
that was awesome having 6 engines. At least they listened and made it happen. Now that CP was on full eat mode, WOW was it screaming! Gotta be about 70 mph.
My family(mom, dad & brother) were vacationing in Michigan somewhere when we came upon a crossing that lights came on just as we got to it, so we counted the cars and I believe, if I remember correctly, it was around 240 cars
WWOT that was a HUGE TRAIN! Maybe I missed a couple but I got about 268 cars, and it’s maybe 2 miles long? So 2 in front, two DPU’s, and 2 rear! Holy rolling train cars bat man!!! Maybe it’s full of Dunkirk ice cream 🍦 wouldn’t that be nice 😊
NSW10...Crazy power crazy long crazy big....crazy.......I dont know how good this is for towns and safety concerns....and I guarantee you that this train could not exit or enter California. All the rail routes into CA are all too steep and twisty. So I guess this will continue to work in flatter parts of the country. I wonder about U P Shermann s hill? How about Altoona? I DONT KNOW.... BUT....THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS G R E A T Video....thanks again !!!!!
In the first train, I counted 250 of those sand cars. That's still well over three miles long. The six engines account for nearly 1/10th of a mile in the total length.
That was an amazing video with two NS lead locomotives, 4398 and 8081, and 4 DPUs, 6618, 8435, 5515, and 8778, thank you so much for sharing this video for railfans who couldn't be there with you. That was a long train.
Jason Assenline gets these long strings of Hopper cars up in Wisconsin. They have a lot of storage tracks up there. Cars sometimes come through Jaw Tooth territory then to you. I wonder if these are the same bunch.
ChainsawN&W1218, that was a monster of a NS train,it was actually 252,I counted it twice, I do the same thing I count when I'm filming, it's not so easy, never seen a frackin sand train before, biggest train I've seen, We get some Big NS trains down hear, with mid helper DPUS, coal, hopper, time freights, pot ash and IM,some over 200 cars, ultimate DPUS Alright 👍.
its crazy because even watching that train I feel like here around NS elkhart yard some of the trains are longer than that even haha. I'd have to pull my dashcam and watch
Please let me know if I got this right. 6 engines, with a rare double D.P.U. configuration. And 252 cars. Or a total of 1,044 axels. Great job! I don't think that J.T. has even caught one that big 😳. And thanks for the four U.P.s.
A little clarification on the fracking sand cars on the first train. In Binghamton yard just to the west of I-81 there is a transload facility where the sand haulers load to head into the northern tier gas field. And some of the cars are also sent into Wyoming and Bradford county for their gas fields both of which are along former Lehigh Valley trackage
Some dispatcher had quite the project rounding up that many cars to put that train together. What ever it is they are carrying that sure was a lot of it. Thanks for filming, your the best!!!
I watched about half the premier then I got a phone call.. Watching the rest of it now. Looks like spring is getting there. I am impressed by your knowledge of the trains, routes, and cargoes. Good for you. Greg in TN😀
Fantastisch super Aufnahmen Danke für die schöne bilder you a good camera man Greetings von Germany Cologne ein Fan aus Krefeld. Habe Look2 Train in mauritarien an der Atlantic Coast 2 Times longer.... good mornig Sir. Greetings von Germany ❤
You picked a good one, a 3-mile long train, I’ve never heard of them to get that long. We would be sitting at that RR stop for a long time. I’d enjoyed it if I was younger. 3:49-two DPUs at one time (and both from another train company, UP), with two more bringing up the rear!
3 and a half mile Long Train Runnin' with 4 DPUs! Are you kidding me! Never mind it being the biggest train you've filmed yet, that's the biggest train I've ever seen in my life! Video or live! It just keeps getting better and better! Keep 'em rolling! DPU alright!!!!
Train originated on the UP as the MBUNSX-26 and showed arriving to Ashland Ave in Chicago with totals of 250-0-35621-10927. Contrary to your headline the train was just over 2 miles long, not 3.5 miles long.
wow what a long train that was first up with six engines, even spread on them too, 2 on the head, 2 dpus in the middle & 2 dpus on the tail, dpu alright great catch mate.
I truly appreciate you videoing all the trains you run into. That first train video was awesome. All those locomotives distributing power together. I agree that with all those heavy cars needed a lot of power to pull all that weight safely. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your videos. ROLL IT😄!

FGLKs Railway had a train with 228 axles
A car for JawTooth and another one for Hobo Shoestring. They certainly have earned their railfanning chops, too.
Thank you for a great video ! I thoroughly enjoyed the car chase of the NS train with 6 locomotives . Delighted to see you back trackside, and trust you are now fully recovered. Very best wishes.

Stunning! We'll never watch that in France 🇫🇷. Thx mate.
Glad you enjoyed it
That fracking train was a monster...that's the first train I've seen on WWoT that had middle and end-train DPUs on it.
That was one big Train probably the biggest I’ve ever seen by far in one of your videos
Only one word comes to mind, ,,,,, awesome !!!! Great video. Thanks.
Wow, thanks!
that sand train was the best ever, never seen anything like it!
I Was the conductor on that W10, it had 252 cars. It was just shy of 36,000 tons. Biggest train I've ever been on. It was only 2½ miles long. Thats really big for a bulk commodity train.
I counted (twice to make sure);
It was 252 cars
At about 140 tons/car that would be about right. The maximum weight per car is 143 tons (286,000 lbs) on our current mainline freight system.
This is one of the BIGGEST trains I ever seen
We saw a few good DPU Alright in this vid. Love the DPU Alright. Mike is a cool guy.👍😊
Wow thanks Irene
Now that's a record!!! 4 DPU's 275 cars long trains
