Hey, so I'm sure someone mentioned this already, but on the reason Ness destroyed the Porky Statue by Lucas didn't is because in the game, a PK Flash could bring the statue (and most robotic based enemies) down to one HP. What makes this so important is that this is one of two ways to ways to defeat the statue, as it is literally impossible to beat the statue with normal attacks due to its godlike amount of HP. Ness could defeat the Porky Statue because he can use PK Flash in Smash, while Lucas can't (even though Lucas learns PK Flash in Mother 3)
My assumption is that the reason Ness is able to destroy the Porky/King Statue is because, in Smash, Ness has PK Flash and Lucas does not. In Mother 3, the move has a chance to cause an instant kill, including to the nigh-invincible statue, provided the user can survive long enough. Another minor detail to add in onto Dedede's design to resemble a Kirby Boss. Dedede's Gordo move in Smash 4 is even more evidence to that theory, as Kirby bosses usually are dealt with by using their's attacks against them when you don't have an ability to combat them with. For example: Whispy Woods and his apples. All you need to do is inhale the apples and sit them back at Whispy. The Gordos works the same here, you can hit them back towards Dedede. Signalifying that, while the Gordos may be Dedede's strongest arsenal at times. It's potentially also his biggest weakness.

YOOOO! I actually have a thing to add for something you said in this video, and it's my favorite small detail in the Subspace Emissary. Ok, so the King Statue is meant to be near indestructible, but Ness destroys the King Statue in the Subspace Emissary. But, the King Statue can actually be destroyed in Mother 3 in two ways. It can either be destroyed by throwing a New Year's Eve Bomb at it (an item which is entirely useless apart from this fight) to one-shot it or by using PK Flash, which reduces the 1 million HP statue down to a single hit point. And how does Ness destroy the King Statue in the Subspace Emissary? PK Flash. BAM! And then it makes sense that Lucas would have to run away from the King Statue, since his Smash Bros incarnation doesn't know PK Flash (even though he would know it in Mother 3, but whatever). I love everything about the King Statue's appearance in the Subspace Emissary. It so perfectly encapsulates the feeling of fighting it in the game, and helps set up what is probably the best character arc of the campaign (Lucas is one of, like, 3 characters in the Subspace Emissary with any development, and I think his arc is probably the best of those 3).
One more thing you missed about Donkey Kong: The DK we see in all the smash games is Donkey Kong Jr. The original Donkey Kong is Cranky Kong from the Donkey Kong Country series. That provides a better explanation as to why DKC Kong has so much more personality than OG Kong.
One thing you missed is... Jigglypuff's taunt when they puff up and blow up and drift back to the ground is its fainting animation from Pokemon Colosseum, I think Stadium and Stadium 2, and Pokemon XD.

Just a note Alex, Ness was able to defeat the New Pork Statue with pk flash, which is accurate to the game, because outside of the new year rocket, pk flash was the only way to deal reliable damage.

You probably could've mentioned how Bayonetta's costumes all originate from characters in her games. Orange leggings are from Loki, white leggings from her dress in Bayo2, the green and blue costumes are from Anarchy Reigns, and her pink outfit is based on Cereza.

The Yellow/Black Ness costume isn't based on Buzz Buzz, because Buzz Buzz isn't a bee in Japan, it's a rhinoceros beetle.
But the bee flies anyway, because bees don't care what humans think it's impossible.
