I’m so glad you showed how the ID holder opened because I had no idea 😂 And I’m going to use the calendars as bookmarks I think cause I won’t get use out of it as a calendar. I do wish they had names and books. That’d be nice. I’ve only read Crescent City.
🤣 I'm not exaggerating when I say it took me at least four hours of just staring at it to figure out how the hell to open it when I got the other one. I LOVE the idea of using the calendars of bookmarks! That's probably what I'll do too or I'll lose them just as loose calendar pages
The first Crescent City book was my very first Sarah J Maas book and I ENHALED it. It was so good and started my spiral into the Maas world. Now, that being said, I have read all of Acotar and Crescent City (have not tackled Throne of Glaas yet) to date and between those 2 series the first CC remains my top fav of all of them...and CC2 is my absolute least favorite. Don't know what happened. Not sure how it fumbled the landing so hard, but I am REALLY hoping the 3rd book will bring it back around. I am so happy with FLs edition of this book. It is so freakin pretty and leauges better than the normal cover!
Not a spoiler: So I am eagerly awaiting your book club video. I already read it, and I greatly disliked it. I’m eager to hear your thoughts, cuz I also hated belladonna and you loved it. (I love hearing differing opinions on books!) But what was cool is I spent a weekend in Hong Kong, and Gong used the Kowloon Walled City as inspiration for her world in the book. They razed the city in the late 90s and turned it into a park. But they left one structure, that actually predated the crazy built up city, and had a whole exhibit about the city. And it was just reallly cool to explore it. (My husband, who only reads manuals (he’s a software engineer 🙄) also enjoyed exploring it!
Omg that is so cool!!!! I am so jealous and that was probably really neat to read the book and then see some stuff in Hong Kong (even if you didn't like the book). Your husband sounds a lot like mine but add in some science fiction books to the manuals lol. I'm sorry you didn't like it! I havent heard great things so I'm terrified. I keep picking it up to read and then putting it down 😅 Eventually I'll read it
That first thing looks like you could put christmas gifts in there! I haven't read anything from S.J.M., but I'm wondering which series I should. I've been avoiding her, because as far as i'm aware, it's romantasy, but i'm hearing a lot about it all the time. I agree the callendar isn't really good. Art is pretty, but it doesn't seem too practical. I think boxes like that could be a cool storage for book-related items, for example these art cards (but I assume you have another place for it) The book is so pretty!! Adding it to my "want to buy if ever gets translated" list (sadly English books are usually too expensive; at least 2x price of Polish book if they're even available in the country) I'd love to order some of these special edition copies, but I'm scared of shipping price.
same thing here in brazil sadly, imported books are way too expensive 😮💨 but we have many many of those editions available in amazon brazil! the only good part of being a reader from here is all the special brazilian editions we get (like internationally famous books, like sjm, cassie clare, etc), and we also have some pretty cool original covers too 🩷
@@bellppa411 In Poland, we're recently getting a lot of special editions too (hopefully its not only for Christmas); but also some publishers start to compensate their high book prizes with printed edges (or so it seems; maybe they do printed edges to make books more expensive).
I definitely would say start with Throne of Glass first. It's the least romantasy and has much more fantasy involved. It kind of turns romantasy towards the middle, but not too heavy. ACOTAR is definitely heavy romantasy. Hopefully you get more translated editions! That would be awesome
I haven’t read the Crescent City series yet. I will start that series once I read the last Throne of Glass book. I’m not crazy about most of the illustrations for those calendar months in the box. I’m really picky about art. When you said you expected Cole instead of Dorian on the calendar did you mean Chaol? I was wondering if you were talking about a Crescent City character that I didn’t know but then thought about Chaol which does look more like Cole than how they say it in the audiobook (Kay-all). Hearing it would make me spell it wrong since I’m not familiar with the name 😂 They probably used Dorian bc he hooked up with Manon. They should put the characters name and book rather than make people guess who they are. Having the batboys together makes sense 😂
Glad this box had some items that some ppl can make use of, the book looks really good. Great video. Thanks
Oh also for CC calendar:
Danika
Ruhn
Bryce
Hunt
And only one of them is a couple. 😊
Yes! Thank you!

That's all I've heard is CC2 being soooo bad compared to the first one which is also why I haven't read it yet 😅

My husband picks on how I say Chaol too, but I refuse to say it corrently (and I forget it's not said like Coal) 😂😂😂
Batboys 4 life ❤
Fairyloot just sent another album book so in would just use them as prints not calender pages.
