- I had to experience what a straight piped v10 sounds like. I did like the sound of the resonator delete, but im going go put them back on & leave the mufflers cut out. #TheTamedminiLambo

We purchased a 2008 S6 in 2020 with the muffler delete. The resonator delete adds to an already amazing sound. I have had comments by other supercar owners that this is the most incredible sounding exhaust. I do believe that the V10 coupled with the long exhaust system length of the creates the unique earth tremor exhaust note. It NEVER gets old...
Footnote: the carbon cleaning was performed but the smiles per gallon of the S6 overcomes the expenses.

I had a 2010 S6 as well, all I did was replace the stock mufflers with magnaflow, thought it would be odd at first but it ended up sounding great with none of the rasp. Would highly recommend.

Thank you for showing the difference in sound between the different exhaust system setups :) I understand the resonator+muffler delete is a bit too rowdy for the streets, but have you ever considered exhaust cut outs to bypass the mufflers on demand? I am curious to hear how your current (muffler delete) setup sounds under load, and especially drive by on WOT.

Yes i am currently piecing together more vids for the muffler delete. But ive considered the cut outs and I was only trying to find the right sound without spending a tone of money at that time. In the next year is when ill be ready to dump some change into it but I did recently get some 20x10" Ashanti wheels with some stretched toyos
You could use bullitt style muffers in place of resonators, it would tone it down some, and get rid of some of that rasp.

Take it to a tuner and get the cats and o2 sensors programmed out to get your check engine light off. You’ll also be able to pass emissions testing etc…
S6 v10 is my favorite car , if the intake flaps are not broken it hauls ass like a mother fucker. Mine just broke and the power is still crazy but not close to what it was before. Before they broke it was fucking mental. If ya open your hood hold the rpm between 1200 and 1500 and here chatter from the intake they are broke. You will not hear it with the hood closed at all.

Slight drone at low rpm but not very noticeable. Especially when driving it like its supposed to be driven lol

If you want better exhaust notes with a phone mic, go about 15 feet back from the exit and film from the side

I havent released another video of it yet, but in the end of it I ended up putting the resonators back on and cutting off the mufflers. Im satisfied with that sound
What do you think, what's the best way to mod the exhaust for driving it daily? Should I only cut the bottom end resonators out?
So I put the resonators back on and left the muffler delete and it still sounds amazing. Deleting the resonators will have this car super edgy

What's it like to live with? It looks like the V8 turbo can be faster, but the V10 just sounds so good.
The v8 turbo is faster, this NA v10 throttle response seams faster and its more beefy when pulling from the line. The sound is amazing tho, plus I'm not trying to be the fastest in this car...just something I can drive my kids around in
Yea it's a unique daily driver and rare. I'm planning to keep mine for another 10 years. The 4.0t has its unreliability issues also.
Thanks for the video, check your valve stem seals, you have some blueish smoke comming out of the exhaust, might be burning some oil
Thanks for the insight, but actually this car has been totalled due to a guy backing into my front end with a F-550. Iknew that the car was misfiring & I was in the process of sorting that issue out before it got totalled

@@spaceboundmg it is not crazy at all...that was the first thing I thought about doing, but ive been going through a divorce and currently in the process of buying a new house+workshop...I couldn't afford and didnt have the space to hold on to the car at the time. I regret it but at the sametime rebuilding that v10 would have been way too costly & integrating the electrical would have been a nightmare for me lol

Resonator delete is by far the most popular mod on these cars, I did both resonator delete, and muffler delete. Mufflers were just too loud so I put them back on. Rear resonator delete gives you a really nice sound, but doesn't have any drone like the muffler delete does, and can still be quiet driving around town, but still have that wicked v10 sound when you step on it.

Removing mufflers only would've made it sound better, removing resonators ruined the sound a bit.
Does deleted cats cause any engine lights.And change in fuel mixture with ecu.
Your O² sensors will be inactive so yeah, your air to fuel ratio will be different and will decrease your mpg. I didnt delete any cats... only my muffler in the end
Unless you get a tune I wouldn't mess with the cats, but you can do a Catalytic delete & trick the sensors into thinking that they are reading to keep from having a engine light

Too loud. Does sound fierce. Vibrant resonators and or Flowmaster may sound cool. I want to try a large Flowmaster on my Audi turbo 5 cylinder. No idea what to expect because most of the sound clips are v8s

Yea headers... only $6 grand in parts plus pulling the engine and having the car down for least a month while you do all the prev maint. I did muff del also on mine, love letting her rip

None of the cats were taken off. In this video the bottom end res and mufflers were taken off

This was w/o the bottom end resanator & mufflers. It definitely doesn't sound like a v8 in person, the camera doesn't do any justice at all of how unique it sounds. I like the way i have it now with just a muffler delete & i get compliments all of the time
Plus bmws fireing order is way different than the fireing order on this car, so they will have its own distinctive sound.
