I used to live in Ferrara. Right at 4:41 you can see a taller bright-yellow building behind that chapel... I lived in there. And as you step over the moats bridge and turn right, right along that short moat wall, I proposed to my wife. I ricordi!
@@RafaelDiFuria Really? In that case, I might not want to live there. I just remember the first Italian city I visited was Milano in January and despite the cold, I had my first Italian gelato there. I had come in by train from Germany where all the gelato places were closed for the winter.
Rafael Di Furia you already know that Alto Adige is a little different from the rest of Italy, most gelaterie are open all year round, especially in the cities.
The chocolate cake you had is a traditional cake, from Ferrara, called Torta Tenerina. You can find similar cakes in Emila Romagna, for example, Torta Barozzi in Modena.
It's the best way to have a first time in a place, just to expierence it as it is. Then after to do some research... but that first time is the most important ;)
Sheltering in place in San Francisco. Feeling pretty down about not being able to go anywhere. Just found your page. Luckily I get to visit close to this part of Italy often and missing it like crazy. Your videos are bringing back all the feelings of being there. Thanks keep up the great work!
Ciao Rafael!!! Loving the video!!! What an amazing city! Love the castle and the mot! Like the hat too!!! Thank you for sharing!!!! Oooo yummies! Stay warm! ❄️⛄🎄🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
Hey there Sabra ^_^ Glad you enjoyed the video, thank you for coming to check it out! haha I was quite surprised to see that moat, just around a castle, in the middle of a city...a moat haha
Ciao, my Amish friend! Kidding, the hat and beard, and scarf and coat reminded me of that. Ferrara was one of the places I thought you were going to move to, instead of Rovigo. It'd be interesting to see an in-depth video of this city. Maybe one day you'll venture further south to Bologna? Explore a bigger city?? No pressure, really. ;) In the meantime, my heart goes out to Venice. If I were visiting there at this time I'd definitely be helping in any small way I can. Peace to you!! Can't wait for next week (or actually this week's) video! Ciao!
@@RafaelDiFuria I meant Ferrara. I believe you said something in the video about leaving a comment to that effect. Anyway, that Christmas market especially sounds interesting.
Thank you for the tour! Ferrara may be a fun town to check out while I'm in Bologna over Christmas. We have Grom in New York...it's delicious. I think it's in LA too.
@@RafaelDiFuria It give us an idea for a video we want to do in the future. The subway opening shot is a great intro. It sounds like you are doing great in Italy! Bravo!
First time watching you. Great video! We are staying in Ferrara for 6 days in May of 2020 and using it as our base camp to visit other villages on day trips. Ferrara looks wonderful and am I so glad we chose it as our base camp. Would love more info on Ferrara and neighboring villages.
You're abosolutely right, in the moment I didn't hear it because of the noise around, when editing the video I was laughing because it picked up something I didn't notice in the moment
would u reccomend staying a month here ? i got a scholarship to go to basically anywhere in europe/asia and idk if ferrara is better than barcelona/tokyo/morroco
You walked passed my cousin’s house. I shouldn’t be this excited. Also I’m really mad at you because I’m going to Ferrara in a week! I could’ve seen you!

That was one thing about Italy that I loved- you can get gelato in the winter also.
You would be surprised, not everywhere has gelato in the winter, for example most gelaterias in Alto Adige close in the winter.

Beautiful Ferrara... You could ask to me... From the station.... straight to the left, about 15 minutes walk... you can see the Castle
that's interesting to hear, not bad at all
Thanks Alberto!
Maybe I'll try that walk some time, but in better weather haha

I would love to!
At some point I'll definitely check it out, it's a bit far by train, but let's see ;)
It would be nice if you went back for the christmas market. The castle looks especially interesting.
Thanks Sylvia, much appreciated!
I definitely plan on heading back for the market!
Consiglio trattoria "Oca Giuliva" a Ferrara, ottimo cibo

Hey there Lara, thanks for letting me know!
It seems like today is the first day, I'll have to see when I can get out there ^_^
The Este family!

I thought meat and pasta are not served in the same dish in Italy!?!
Beef or pork, inside of a stuffed pasta, yes.... but chicken... NEEEEVVVER!
finalmente in emilia #fammisaperesepassipermodena
you must have missed my videos in Bologna haha
The bus driver said to you: if you put 2€ it won’t give you the change. And that they were 7 minutes by bus with 4 stops.

Un consiglio... evita i piatti con la panna.
Dagli anni 80 panna è sinonimo di cucina di bassa lega.
