I am a firm believer that gymnastics needs to release the specifics of scoring for every single event. This is getting ridiculous. Judges can do whatever they want under anonymity. It is already a highly subjective sport -- it is unbelievable to me that scoring is still concealed.
Awsome! It would be great to see your opinion on the floor final event 2024 olympic after all the mess regarding the bronze medal. I would love to see all the first 5 routines of the final scored by you. 🙏🏻 Your editing skills are just another level. You are making COP looking so easy to understand by everyone.
Compared to her beautiful team final routine that got only a 14.0, it is clear how massively overscored this was. Of course, the whole 8th and 9th subdivisions were pretty overscored in comparison to the earlier subdivisions, but I do believe she should have been high 13's at maximum. Of course, her artistry probably helps compared to other gymnasts and she would have made the final regardless, but hoping that scoring is more even in the event final. Thank you so much for this analysis!
The Memmel was validated in QF (she completed the rotations but had an important lost of balance), so her D score was 6.1. The D score for this routine was 5.9 if I didn't miss something. Judges somehow considered the routines equivalent in terms of execution, what is very odd.
@@icaronunes1246 But according to the rules, her Memmels should never be credited since she always loses the balance and drop her foot before the last turn is 100% complete. Others gymnasts never get the chance to have their turns credited when it happens but Rebeca always does, very very unfair but I know it's not her fault. That's why I keep telling that the judging is always inconsistent.
@@gaodrob7938 she did not have her Memmels credited in this world championship twice (out of four performances). So it is not correct to say that "Rebeca always does".
@@arlon9097 Yes but I wrote my comment before the AA and EF finals ! In Quals or TF (I don't remember which one) she shouldn't have been credited either. Okay now I can correct my words : she often gets credited (not always lol).
The code has been getting much harsher since 2017, especially on beam, which even long time fans seem to lose touch on the execution requirement. The perfect score used to be 9.0 E in the 06 - 16 era, it is now about 8.4 🤔
@@bagelized No one is equating hate with wishing for a proper execution. She currently gets so much hate many people are saying she's overscored and they're happy when she failed on the vault QF so she's out of the finals
THANK YOU so much for this. I am not a judge but I personally thought it was way overscored considering the 3 huge steps on landings and falling out of the turn. I was shocked when her score came up. I really appreciate a professional judge's breakdown.
@@agent606 You can be a licensed judge and be not fair. Take a look at Olympics 2016, Daria Spiridonova was credited a skill she didn't even do on uneven bars. If you look at individual judge scoring at the old results book judging can vary by A FULL POINT (one judge giving a 7.4 and others giving 8.4 for the SAME performance). And that can be happening on OLYMPIC level, let alone a judge who doesn't even judge international competition. Gymnastics is a highly subjective sport, no matter how they try to minimize it.
“Não tira nem com queda” hahahahah Yes, darling, me, Emily and whoever thinks Rebeca was massively overscored (0.5+) in FX QF is a hater!!! x. Glad I helped.
she was definitely overscored in the QF. I felt like the judges only took 0.1 on the steps on her first two passes, and didn't take the flexed feet deductions
Okay the lack of fluency is a choice tho- Other than that I think your scoring seems rather fair Maybe the Choreo where the music changes could be counted as complex?
Usually, Rebeca would have complex choreography with the split handstand at the end of her routine, but she didn't have enough time to perform it in this routine.
This was even more overscored than Jessica’s QF FX. Ridiculous. There’s absolutely no way this should’ve scored higher than 13.8 (by worlds criteria a 13.7/13.8 would be just fine and way more fair) Btw this is one of the reasons some people will never take the sport as serious as it should be.
Anyone knows why her Memmels are always credited when she loses the balance and drop her foot before the last turn is 100% complete ? According to the rules they should never be. So weird, others gymnasts never get the chance to have their turns credited when it happens but Rebeca always does, very very unfair but I know it's not her fault. The judging is always inconsistent.
She did not have her Memmels credited in this world championship twice (out of four performances). Sometimes the imbalance does not stop her from completing two turns. In this case, she only loses points for the loss of balance.
She doesn't have artistry deductions and those first two acro do not deserve 0.3 for step. Counting the double layout as more than 1 step is dishonest, that second one should be looked at as happening after the landing is over, and moving into choreography at that point. I do think the front full deserves .1 for form though and an extra .1 to the Memmel (really hope she takes that out next year, it's never working).
LOL. One more biased analysis. You have a clear project to make Andrade look bad, but, hey, she's out there winning medals while you're just being miserable with your good for nothing channel.
To be clear, I'm a huge fan of Rebeca and have been for many years, throughout all her injuries, and I'm thrilled to see her succeed. People have to understand that gymnastics judging is not equal to hating. I make these videos to explain gymnastics scoring/deductions to people so they can understand better. Judges love gymnastics, respect gymnasts and want them to succeed.
@@FlipFlyTumble Nope. You create these videos to satisfy your ego and deceive people who don't know better. Your deductions are always more severe when it comes to gymnasts that do not come from powerhouse nations, while you cowardly avoid criticizing American gymnasts because you know that: 1) People who watch your videos are mostly Americans and they would be pissed off; and 2) Your biased point of view cannot apply correct artistry deductions to the routines of the Americans. Disguising your hate towards some gymnasts while claiming your videos are informative is a huge disservice to gymnastics and the history of this beautiful sport. You only alienate people as hard as you are alienated.
I do not think it is overrated, I kind of think they judged her the same way they judged the other girls. I have not seen a decent dlo since Ksenia in 2011, everything has flexed feet now
