      Tywin was, above all, a hypocrite. He never cared about his family, only himself. He never cared who sat on the throne as long as he commands the king. He never cared about his son's whore, only how he perceived his image as a result, same with his children's affair. All he ever cared about was himself.

Initially it smelled horrible when they found him because 1) it was the chamber pot room and 2) the arrow + death caused the his bowels to relax and totally empty. He basically shit out everything he had in him. But as far as the smell that makes Tommen throw up, and the spectators “scrunch their noses” is because he was just lying in the sept rotting for 7 nights and 8 days. They had their weird ways of preparing a body back then but obviously it wasn’t as sophisticated as what we have now so he was decaying from the inside out in a closed area. Tywin never told the mountain to do it because Tywin permitted it through inaction. Standard procedure for bad leaders.
    If you ever end up in a situation where your boss tells you to do something seemingly impossible without any help or guidance and refuses to approve any ideas you have and then sends you on your way, it means they want you to lie to them so that if it doesn't work you take the fall and if it succeeds they still get credit. I saw a manager of mine do that constantly and they got promoted after a few years.

Tywin is a man obsessed with brutality and fear, just look at how he treated the Raynes, and Tysha, and how he has his men do the exact same shit in the riverlands during the war of the 5 kings. He rules explicitly through fear and makes sure that threats to him and his power aren't just defeated, but that they die in the most brutal and savage ways he and his men can devise.

    • @amanimckenzie32
      @amanimckenzie32 Год назад +4

      @@krishan8735 Doesn't make much sense for him to order Elia's murder. Her connection to the Targaryen regime was through marriage, not blood, she wouldn't be able to contest Robert for the throne. Her children were dangers to Roberts crown and it made sense why Tywin disposed of them. But Elia's death just caused a needless blood feud between the Lannisters and Martells. The situation with the Reynes and Tarbecks was different. They were bannerman to the Lannisters and they had initially rebelled against their Leige Lord. Tywin had put them down and would of faced no repercussions for his decision. Additionally, all the reynes were in the Westerlands and he destroyed them all in their seat of power, Castamere. The Martells are a house (on paper) on par with House Lannister (being direct vassals of the King). He also had no plans to kill the other Martells and displace them of their position and I very much doubt he could. So killing Elia Martell would of only made the other Martells pissed whilst gaining nothing from it.
      What likely happened was that Tywin ordered the death of the kids and did not directly tell Gregor Clegane to not kill Elia. In Gregors insane lust for murder he killed her as well.

    • @krishan8735
      @krishan8735 Год назад +2

      @@amanimckenzie32 you make a good point about Elia not being to the Targereyn's anymore, but I still think he'd ordered the murder of Elia. And the reason is, just look at the red wedding. He specifically made a point of going after Catelyn, and in the show, Robs wife. And again, I'd just site Tysha. His brutality and fear mongering is specifically to make a point. To intimate and to terrify people into obeying the lannisters.
      This goes all the way back to his childhood, with his father. Tytos was a man nobody respected. People laughed to his face, and blatantly took advantage of him, and humiliated him left right and centre. And the thing Tywin hated most, is when Tytos married a common woman. He saw this as such shame upon the name of Lannisters, and so to make up for this, when his father died, he had the woman stripped, beaten and walked naked out on the streets to show the world how beneath the Lannisters she was. This is how Tywin is, he rules specifically through brutality and fear because deep down, he's deeply insecure, and massively wants the world to see him and his family as undeniably above them. Hence why he is SO brutal, killing the Raynes even after they surrendered (and writes a song about this to inspire more fear, no less), having his men raid and rape in the riverlands during the war of the 5 kings, the red wedding, Tysha, etc. And hell, it's telling that he tries to ensure that Oberyn in the dark about Elia, but makes barely effort at all with regards to anyone else. Do you really think it'd be hard for him to stop the rumors from spreading in the first place?
