What impresses me most are the “skies”. So many indoor malls don’t get the fake sky right. This is so impressive. How smart to do twilight in Metropolis that leads to black night for Gotham City, then to bright cartoony clouds. So impressed. Plus, the rides really feel like they are using the character IP well, not just slapping a logo and a character drawing at the entrance. Makes me want to visit someday.

This whole country is backed by oil money. They know the oil cant last forever so they are funding tourism hard right now. It's basically being looked at as an investment. Warner Bros has nothing to do with it. It's just a licensing deal essentially. All of these places in UAE are a money pit, but they are hoping it will boost UAE as a tourist destination eventually.
It looks nice but it also looks soul less, static and too clean and that gives off a dead feeling. No wind going trough the dead plants, no birds, no textures that got life from rain and sun on the buildings. It's feels like the uncanny valley in cgi characters or people who got injected or had plastic surgery. It's too perfect to get a connection with, at least that does this for me.
I wish Warner Bros World Abu Dhabi would have an Animaniacs themed land, with the Animaniacs Tower Drop, Pinky and the Brain’s Mind Machine, an Animaniacs store, and the characters Yakko, Wakko, Dot, Pinky and the Brain. It would be nice to have them added for the Animaniacs’ 30th anniversary.
Pinky: Gee Brain, what are we going to do today? Brain: Well, Pinky, we’re gonna have fun at Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi, and then it’ll be same thing we do every night: try to take over the world!
All the indoor parks and activities in Abu Dhabi have the same uncanny “dead” vibe; it’s a side effect of not being in the open air. That said, I’ve been there, and it’s much better in person because your brain understands you’re really in a building.
