I just realized Steve Martin's 'The Jerk' is the white version of 'Which Way Is Up' with a happy ending.

Not plotwise. Same Era though. 18 year old me and my friends laughed hysterically in the movie theater watching. In our minds, there wasn't anything on earth funnier. 2 years later, I rolled on the ground laughing at The Jerk and Animal House a year before that.

I knew the words by heart (still do) when I was 11 yo. I used to wait until there weren't any adults around and would quote the movie lines to my friends. I had them ROLLIN.' Especially knew the dad ('Pop' aka Rufus Jones) and The Preacher (The Reverend Lenox Thomas)
"That POTBELLY, BLACK, BIG NOSED, UGLY NO-PREACHIN' N....!"🤣🤣🤣🤣
