man, mad respect to Beasty.. honestly.. this is so frustrating and you hated every second of it.. you had EVERY right to just throw or withdraw, but you kept it professional and played.
I feel like you made your feelings known in regards to remakes a while ago. One person having technical difficulties shouldn't invalidate the game when it's FFA, that's not fair or reasonable for the other players.
I played this tournament (got eliminated round 1). We had exactly one remake, when coRe's CPU died while loading the map. We ended up remaking but played game 3/3 without him, because he had already qualified. Which is to say, the number of remakes here is... suspicious.
Fellow Vietnamese here. Lol teaming is literally the first came to mind of when I saw the number of Vietnamese players in the game, literally without even watching a second further. Cheating and matchfixing are just that prevalent here.
in the original aom when someone disconnected the remaining players could vote if they want to wait or save the game in the current state. it was possible then to pick up right from where the disconnection happened.
Man, so much respect for not "disconnecting" immediately on that remake. And every other player in this lobby should be embarrassed by the inadequaticy. They did everytbing to fuck Beasty and he still whipped them all
It is still so funny to me, that after all this rigging against him, beasty still won the whole thing XD Just shows on which kind of level he is, compared to anyone else.
They're not actively teaming up, but choosing not to aggress anyone besides Beasty in the hopes that other players will weaken him enough to bring him to their level :D
@@ideallyyoursthis is not correct they have been actively teaming up and may have even in this Final. It is just too easy to pretend you are not teaming even if you obviously do
In my country, there is no professional gaming environment. There is no professional tournament because the organizers are an amateur individual and has allowed such teamup and crash players. However, not all players in my country are like that. Thank you Beasty for always dedicating to the AOE4 community ever.
This whole saga was really entertaining to watch - we got 3 episodes of game 6 ranther than 1. Initially I thought beasty was just having a good mald. Like if the rules state that a de-sync in the first 20 mins should be a remake (like core), then i think the re-make was correct - even if the rule is stupid.... beasty would've wanted the same thing if he was core. BUT watch till the end of this video, it all makes sense why beasty was having such a good mald and was just pissed off (albeit only a at 10%). Oppa and Kyo are 200% teaming, and all the malding just makes perfect sense. Our new king poopoo prevailed though. At the end of the day it was entertaining to watch and thats the point right? Keep the FFA's coming.
as you said in past. ffa is best without a prize pool on the line. as soon as people are playing for money teaming, absuing, "crashing", becomes far more common then in normal ffas for fun which is rather interesting. Teaming abusing and crashing isnt fun for you players (clearly) nor is it fun for me as a viewer (and id wager other viewers dont enjoy it either) which is a shame cuz i love watching ffas normally. remakes for crashes really shouldnt be a thing past 5~10 min and IF a remake is decided on any points in that game (excluding the crashed player) should count to score (ie in that first game with core crash, cores king isnt worth a point but any other kills should be) up until all the players are messaged by admin that remake is a go. Crashlogs should also be required for a remake (tho im sure you could find a way to force crash the game if you really wanted to abuse) all in all grats beasty, i look forward to more of your gold/plat/dia/etc ffa tournies as those are actually fun to watch
Pro-tip: You can reduce player frustration by informing them immediately of restart upon disconnect (as opposed to letting them play an additional pointless 20 minutes.).
Slightly new to watching this game and I got a few questions. 1. How is this rng spawn system good for the game? I understand some rng is good because it adds more skill in adapating into the game. But shouldnt there at least be a certain distance people have to spawn from each other? It doesnt even have to be much, but that way you can avoid insanely bad spawns like the first game. 2. Do people not have to send in a form of proof when crashing? This seems like something anyone could abuse from what i've seen so far. 3. Do people track if people tend to ignore each other? I dont think ignoring some one once because you see a plan by focusing some one with others is wrong. However if its something that happens more often it goes against the integrity of tournaments. Curious if people are least look at these things. Hope some one can help me out with this. Just trying to learn more about this game while im thinking of playing it again after 9 years.
Nomad is just wild that way. Many times I prefer standard FFA because it's more fair. Although, even on standard I've seen some people get put in the middle of the map when it is random
1. There is a kind of minimal distance, but since it's a nomad start there's no way to determine how far apart the actual bases will be as the game can only place your initial vills. 2. Unfortunately not. :/ 3. This is entirely dependant on whomever monitors the competition. Some will be more watchful than others. The challenge here is that it's easy to have plausible deniability, so it's really hard to make a fair and just ruling on what does and doesn't constitute deliberate ignoring or otherwise teaming. And it's hard to judge on a case by case basis in this kind of format without someone feeling like they've been treated unfairly.
If you're interested in the challenges behind running this kind of FFA tournament I can recommend the "Outback Octagon" by Aussie Drongo. There you can see the tournament unfold from the perspective of a caster and organiser rather than a single player. So you can follow how he's had to change rulings between rounds based on what they've learned from the games etc.
Now there's an option to pause the match with recent patch so if someone crashes it can automatically pause the game on behalf of the player like Counter Strike did. With the new update hope they could add this feature.
Sounds a bit hard but I honestly think they should be banned from future competitions or like a 3 month ban just from the bad sportsmen ship. They also made potential money from this (steaming) which is terrible for the game itself as it shows there are true cheaters. The hosts are also as equally to blame as they didn’t act on the cheating and teaming.
As i can understand after very deep analyzing for 24 hours without eat or sleep .İ think i might be observed there is a chance that they cheated in the game
It might be a small thing, but in AoE2 there is "Random" and "Full Random". Random ensure that no Civ appears twice, Full Random doesn't vare. Seems AoE4 only has Full Random. I don't think it would be a big deal add that too. It wouldn't necessarly prevent someone getting the same Civ multiple times in a row, but would greatly reduce the chance.
Maybe a system like league of legends custom/toornament game with a /pause and of course a reconnected button. With a limited timer for the pause like 15 min max then the player has to forfeit if is not here.
In my opinion this is mainly's Relic's fault for not fixing this issues. It's more than clear to me that Relic wasn't up to the task when they began developing AOE4. If this was SC2 this wouldn't even be an issue
Super annoying like yeah. How to stop team talk? Anon names helps a little, but if half the lobby comes from countries where salary is the price of one European sock, they will find ways. FFA is so fun, but it must be fair. What to say more - ♥️♥️♥️
Because it's against the rules of the tournament? Not to mention it's scummy as all fuck? If you lose, lose with at least some dignity. Don't be a bitch about it.
Dude, I'm glad you won but the 20 min remake is idiotic, That's half a game sometimes, it should be at least 10. Also, it's so obvious when they team up and if one of the players has a crappy PC he must agree to have only 1 or 2 disconnections in the ENTIRE tournament. I don't play too many hours of Age IV but I've never seen my PC crash to it and I'm sure most of the disconnections in public matches are due to power failures. And yes, FFA should have options to hide names. GG
Why do those guys bother playing if they're going to play like that? There's absolutely no point, can't even cheat properly and just look even more stupid.
Seems like you threw the last game pretty hard? Why tf push kyo? Go for Japanese instead then push kyo with the extra pop. Wall the north if anything. Invited the 2v1 against yourself. Edit: The teaming is wild tho fair enough

FFA take a shit load of time, sorry but if you DC, bad luck. Also, if yoh dont have a stable connection is your responsibility as a player to deal with the consequences.
