I think the Elder Scrolls has the best lore of any fictional universe... ever. My favorite, at least. I thought it was most fully-realized in ES IV: Oblivion and not explored enough in Skyrim.

What I like most about Skyrim is that it is very romantic. I don't just mean lovey dovey, but rather the atmosphere is quite emotional and the characters are passionate about what they do and their various life pursuits. It doesn't hurt that there are stellar graphics to the game, especially the beautiful sunsets and flowers (even though I don't even like flowers generally). The music draws you in and all in all it's majestic to say the least.
