4:20 - the wood is not fake!! Someone had obviously vanished / lacquered it in a none standard way but those door tops are solid wood which were stained or varnished from the factory. Later ones are metal inserts with a veneer stuck to them but around 85-88 used real wood.
Hi Adam thank you for sharing I love these old Range Rovers you don’t see many in a manual here in the UK very rare and the price of these is going up and up at moment that one is a lovely old thing very nice
I've. just had my Headliner re-trimmed & it's not saging down onto your head any more. Great video 👌.......P.S. I've just towed 5 tonnes with no worries, although it is a 3.9L auto!
@@LivingWithAClassic that's good I know the air suspension pump situated in the boot (trunk) do go and head gasket failure is high on the 4.4 V8's but apart from that there not too bad
Adam very cool classic Car . To buy a good condition one is quite expensive today . Under 18 000 Euro only bad examples are available so you need to spend a lot to buy a good one or spend a lot to get one restored. Sure I like to see nice cars on your channel if they are cool like this classic Range Rover . Adam sorry one question nothing to do with this nice video . Do you have any idea how I get my trunk of my 1987 Daimler open without the keys . Lost them . Is there a trick or do I really start to drill to get it open ? Best regards Wolfram
They are getting very expensive now! On the XJ40 the boot should unlock with the central locking if it wasn’t locked manually with the key I believe. On my XJ40 I can only unlock with the key since something or broken I’m there. Do you have the ignition key for the car? Should be the same
@@LivingWithAClassic thanks Adam . I will try my luck with a new battery. Maybe I am lucky. But I have no key at all . Sad as I do not want to drill a hole in the bonnet. I will try thank you !
Not true…very common for that colour (cassis red) to fail around the lower body on the outer panels. You see plenty though that are like that but solid inside.

Cool video! Glad to see your trees are finally leafing out with some nice green foliage.
The amount of leaves have pretty much doubled in the couple of days since this was filmed. Spring is finally hear now
Yes nice spring weather, our trees are filling out nicely in Canada as well. I love the look of those Rovers. so majestic!
They do look great! Spring was slow this year but now it’s finally here
A interesting video and a interesting rangerover.i liked that model.i think you will find that the woodwork is real.no fake plastic trees on them.
Ah it felt very fake when I touched it
Lovely car, I used to have one in the early 2000! It was a 1990 Vogue and it had the AC. I also like the guy in the back just looking at you!!
That's the owner trying to stay out of the camera view
Still the best Range Rover. The engine is a great thing too. Finding one at a sensible price is very difficult now.
They are getting pricey! Here you can still get them pretty reasonably if it requires some work like this one
@@LivingWithAClassic I meant to say, what a difference in size! Jeez. Don't think I've ever seen the two models side by side before.
Hi Adam thank you for sharing I love these old Range Rovers you don’t see many in a manual here in the UK very rare and the price of these is going up and up at moment that one is a lovely old thing very nice
They are getting rare here too. If I had the spare money I’d buy this one as a winter car. It was great to drive
My 1993 200Tdi manual factory build is for sale....
I just picked up a restored 89 Classic I’m loving it so far
A restored one must be great!
@@LivingWithAClassic yeah I’m super happy with it so far. Going to do a little bit of tweaking with the pump and an intercooler so il document it all

That was a lot! Strong cars!
Love the classic RR. I almost bought one 20 yrs ago when I was stationed in the UK. Wish I did.
They really are something special I think
Hey all, how are they to maintain? Expensive? Smooth to run? A beautiful timeless classic I am seriously considering one
My dad had a 92 3.9 auto 3 door one of the very last 3 doors made and it had ac as well still regrets to this day selling it
The 3 door ones have really gone up in value now. One with AC would be nice
These cars are so easy to work on a great car
They seem great to own! I loved driving it
Love the classic Rangie. From a time before cars became simply too big imho. The last LR/RR that was a civilised size is the LR2/Freelander2.
It does feel like a really good size. I have gotten used to driving our 2006 l322 but it is a pretty huge car
It does not have locking diffs, just a locking centre diff. The roof lining is sagging in my 04 reg Discovery 2.
Thanks for letting me know! I thought it locked them all
Love the original range rover and the p38 successor. models after the p38 became complicated and troublesome.
So far our 2006 L322 has been very reliable and no real trouble.

These Range Rover Classics are timeless, in Vogue SE spec and the right colour, it still commands respect and old money image.
They sure do! If I had the spare cash I’d buy this one. Lovely to drive also!

Crazy money now in the UK
2 door ones are crazy expensive here too.
The wood in these is real not fake!
Sorry about that is just felt very fake. Not like the wood in other 80’s cars I have such as Jaguars
Well if you take a 1968XJ6 and put it next to my 98XJ8 they do not look identical but you can tell they’re the same car
It's nice when manufactures design their new cars to resemble the old ones I think.

9:53 Lucas says hallo
Yes he does
It’s a XJ 40 Daimler 3.6 !
Great car!
Why is the interior light on?
I didn’t close a rear door properly when out for a drive
Mine is for sale....1993 200Tdi factory fit manual in red
Nice! Hope it finds a good new home
Please give me more info.
So here is a very scruffy old Range Rover. Time to restore this one.
I think the next owner will restore it
@@LivingWithAClassic Ok cool.
If it's doors are oxidising,it's had it.Sad but true.They're the last parts to go.Bet the body-shell is a basket-case
