Your instructions are so clear and INFORMATIVE!!! So valuable! Thank you for the don'ts as well along with examples of WHY!!! You are an AMAZING teacher. Thank you for this extremely helpful video!!!
Thanks for this simple, concise, easy-to- understand video! I just did my nails yesterday, but now I'm considering taking off my fresh manicure to try this technique now! I've been hesitating on doing ombre nails despite loving the look, but I feel so much less intimidated now thanks to your video.
Great tips :D I love to do ombres when doing my right hand nails (which are pretty much always a gel design :3). I just slap on the colours straight to the nails and then use a sponge :)
This is my least favorite method for gel ombrés, but with these great tips you shared, I might just try this method again. 😅 New subbie, looking forward to Part 2! 🤗💕
You just change my nail game, thank you. Question where do you get your tape from, that you used around your cuticle area? I have super short nails, never could get into the longer nails 🤦🏼♀️. Would the tape work for around the top of nails so I don’t transfer in that area? Hope that makes sense lol.
I was just admiring these duos on Makartt's website the other day... Love these tips, never considered doing an ombre with gel polish before, but will give it a go now! PS: I spy a lovely brown with gold foil design on the other hand. Must see if you've posted a tutorial on it 🕵️
I love duo polish sets! And I actually did the foil look on a live stream! If you want to watch it here’s the link amazon.com/live/broadcast/6d99c7f3-2bd1-4e0b-854d-958b72be635b?ref=social&tag=gabbymorris-20&linkCode=ilv
Thank you! For the barriers it definitely takes a little practice to get used to but I have a do’s and don’ts on that too ruclips.net/video/HkeZHTqSdqQ/видео.html
Right?? I feel like it requires just as much skill and precision as the nail polish painting lol, and for my non dominant hand that's my kryptonite. Hmm I might need to get the tape wrap types for my non dominant hand, save some time haha
I struggle so badly with doing ombre, I'll have to try the makeup sponge technique out now! Thank u! I would have thought that less opaque and more sheer colours would be easier for blending but apparently not lmao
What about the bubble/bumpy texture after sponging all the layers it drives me nutsss. Idk how to prevent it I've tried tonsss of different sponge brands and kinds and color combos and brands etc. I can't figure out how to prevent the darn bumpy nonsense. :( tips/suggestions please? :/
Oh and it isn't fuzzy etc. I heavily lint roller and tape dab dab extra extra to remove any possible fuzziness/pieces of sponge etc on the nail/in the polish. These bumps are just built up through each layer and becomes more and more prominent and annoying lol. Evenly throughout entire nail but obvious and ugly. Agh
Gabby I’m sorry but you lost me when you said we are using the lamp with this nail technique. But all of your other nail videos are interesting to learn from.

You can press the sponge on a piece of tape before applying polish to remove any stray dust or fuzz.
yes! I forgot to mention that one, definitely important

The first coat looked way better than any ombre I have tried to do. Alot if tips in this video I have not tried yet.
Ive done this and got good results with curing for 5 sec per "sponging" layer
flash curing in between coats is definitely a good option too!
Do you have a tutorial for marble with gel polish? That would be amazing!

Your work is flawless! Can you show us how you apply the barrier? Mine always gets all tangled and wrinkly!
Thank you! For the barriers it definitely takes a little practice to get used to but I have a do’s and don’ts on that too ruclips.net/video/HkeZHTqSdqQ/видео.html

What are you using to wipe off the gel polish before hand ? Polish remover?
I will be trying this today!
Can you do a video on filing and shaping your natural nails?
Gabby I get air bubbles and texture, do you buff? What brand of sponge do you use.
This helped me so much!
Can we get nails barriers at Walgreens or cvs?
Also, does it matter if the lighter color is on the top or bottom of nail?
I’m not sure if they sell them, I typically just order online! I would try to use the lighter color on the bottom, it makes the process easier
Where did you get the peel off tape you’re using as a barrier?
What do you use for your "barrier"? Sorry I mean brand wise for the tape lol
I struggle so badly with doing ombre, I'll have to try the makeup sponge technique out now! Thank u! I would have thought that less opaque and more sheer colours would be easier for blending but apparently not lmao
I think when using a brush technique for the ombre they can work nicely but it'll just take too long to build up with the sponge unfortunately lol
Great video!
How do you clean the sponge at the end? Acetone? Isopropyl alcohol?
You don’t, just wait for it to dry or smth and then cut off that piece.
So beautiful 🥰💖

WOAH EARLY?!
💜💜
Can I use regular polish? Because I am and some of it is kinda old and I cant ombre right no matter what method I use?
Sure you can! It's actually easier with regular polishes because you don't have to cure every layer
Please give us part 2
Thank you 😊
Haha I should of looked at the bio first found the tape. Haha. 😁

Gabby can we get a nail care video? Your nails always look so healthy!
I need to make one! I’ve honestly been putting it off because I really don’t do much to my nails
