It's something called perfect pitch. It can only be learnt at a young age due to ear development but it can be trained to something called relative pitch
You can start anywhere. If you want to develop a good ear it means replicating sounds that you hear. This is all I did til I hit a plateau. Then I learned basic technique, theory and sight reading/musical notation from a piano teacher and gained a decent foundation, i.e. a sense of direction. In retrospect those baby steps were so tedious but worth it. Everyone learns differently but the common denominator is consistent and effective practice so you need to want it

My ear isn’t quite as proficient as this anymore (little access to piano/keys) but I would do this sort of thing with Tyler the Creator (Fish, Orange Juice) and coldplay songs. I wasn’t even trained in piano. Kudos to this guy I guess but it’s almost like saying “wow that art school kid knows how to art”

I love Kanye’s music but even putting that aside, I am not a fan of what he’s doing at the moment, but this song transcends genre, time and controversy. Masterpiece of a song, and this guy did it justice.
