Colt made a lightweight commander for years. I bought one in 1981 shot it hard for 10 years with no degradation of the feed ramp. Why not check your info before offering an opinion

I did friend that’s the reason I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone and my knowledge of metal in a high impact and friction area that’s where you would never use aluminum.but I do appreciate your comment friend.

Thank you for saving me the typing.
I have been carrying a Colt Light Weight commander for the better part of fifty years (50).
For years I carried it as a Police Duty weapon.
Never a problem with battering the frame.

HST run great in my US 1911A1 and Speer Gold dots! I’ve also tested them in my homemade clothing and meat target and they’re very good in 9 40 and 45! They don’t plug up with clothing

Agreed. I don't like the idea of an alloy feed ramp.

I don’t believe they would be durable enough long term.

Failure to feed? The hammer never dropped. Was the grip safety depressed all the way?

    Brother 2A, a small fyi:
The flag behind you should have the UNION portion ( blue /stars) to the observers top left. Just a lil sumpin. Good content as always.

I've heard similar things regarding aluminum frames with the ramp built in. The ramp survives until the factory anodizing wears off (which can happen with hollowpoints repeatedly scratching/gouging the ramp). After that, the ramp begins to wear/gouge pretty quick and feeding issues crop up.
With hardball/fmj I would expect the ramp to last the life of the frame (25,000 rounds?)
I don't have the Aviator, but the other Tisas firearms that I have tried were really nice.

Brother, what is that moving through the woods from right to left maybe 15-20 yards past the tree line at the 3:28 time stamp? Could be meat in the freezer.

2A, I've been tinkering and rebuilding 1911s since Jimmah Cahtah was pretending to be president. Your extractor tension is too tight. I'd swap in an Ed Brown. which comes with the proper bevels etc. already done. I bet your function problems would vanish once that is corrected.

Most 1911's that u try to shoot defensive ammo through, usually needs ramp, because all of u know the 1911 is designed to shoot BALL AMMO...
