Man, when the Big Red Machine was Great! I was a young 14 going on 15 year old girl in '75 hooked on baseball since my family had gone to see the Reds play at the new stadium. I eventually, and quite habitually, skipped school to go downtown for a Big Boy and fries and then head over to Riverfront Stadium to watch this all-star team play. That's where my allowance went but boy what fun and what wonderful times. Morgan, Bench, Rose, Concepcion, Foster, Griffey, Geronimo! And of course my favorite clean up hitter Perez! Loved Pedro Borbon and felt for poor Billingham whom Hank Aaron got his tying run off of, tying with Babe Ruth. I'd heard that game on the radio, had so wanted to go to the game that day! So this is super sweet, listening to this. Those were good baseball days. Before the strike and greed and drugs set in. Good memories. Thanks for this.
I turned 9 years old this season. And I loved baseball so much! I was an AL guy already lol, but I loved the rivalries in the NL. And the Reds were indeed a machine. Pete Rose was my favorite player. I enjoyed watching their games whenever possible. This is a treat to listen to.
Tony Perez is my favorite Red of all-time, but what a team this was! 3 HOF players in Morgan, Perez, and Bench, the Hit King in Pete Rose, and a HOF manager in Sparky. Plus a HOF announcer in Marty Brennaman, and an announcer who absolutely SHOULD be in the HOF in Joe Nuxhall. Clay Carroll also should be in the Hall of Fame as a reliever.
I wasn't around for the 1975 season (I was born in 1981). But one thing I do wonder however: If the 1975 Reds and the 1927 Yankees confronted each other, then what would happen? Because both teams were loaded big time.
Brings back alot of great memories of listening to Marty and Joe on WLW.

"GET OUTTA HERE!" The Ol' Left-hander was also noted for this exclamation.
Excellent
Thanks!
I envy Reds fans in the 70s. Wish I could have been there. Hope to visit Cincy in the future.
I WAS there at Riverfront for Game 3. It truly was exciting.
