It's great to see the youth participating in this! With the participation of young people, the Kite Festival has injected new vitality into the community. I've read that many young workers participating are putting their "complaints" about work into the sky, which is not only their way of relief, but it also just makes people happy because it's artistic expression and it adds on to the festival. It shows just how inclusive this festival is. This world is but a canvas to our imagination, and that's why art is so important whether it's through kites or paintings. It helps shape who we are, and it helps us view things from a new perspective while dusting away the problems of daily life. Art is not a thing, it is a WAY! From marine life to even a high-speed train, this festival has it all! Even cooler at night! But that one of my man Qin Shihuang looks so epic. I've been fascinated with Chinese culture ever since I was 8 and it doesn't take long to see why the Chinese so proud of their rich history.
I was born in weifang and lived there for 18 years. I met the first foreigner in my life when I was around 8, during the kite festival that year. I always say hello, good morning to everyone I met. We are hospitable from deep of our hearts, please come and enjoy the wind together
What a fantvideo Stu. Love the framing shots, the drone shot and especially the night scenes. Your video skills are very good. Love the editing too. Keep it up👍👍👍💪💪🤔
"One that spells Brexit, took 3 years to make and doesn't fly" 💀The Tories have been real quiet since Stu dropped this diss track. 😂Yup, even we sent a team to participate in the festival, as shown by our flag at 0:49. Shame you didn't get to talk to them. Maybe you should learn some Korean in Hunchun in Yanbian Korean Autonomous Prefecture (since it's not a place people think of) and visit the volcano Paektu/Changbai on the border, or perhaps Dandong in Liaoning and see our city of Sinuiju across the Yalu! Tomatoes are originally from the Americas as the wild ancestor of the tomato is currant tomato which is native to Ecuador and Peru (and the Spanish saw them being domesticated by the Aztecs in Mexico), but it's great to see places in rural China be revitalized by growing tomatoes and thus, putting these rural villages on the map.
Thanks, Situ, this is so amazing, it really lights up my day, make me incredible happy watching the kites, the people, and you... Haha, i am blown away too..
Wonderful video. Spent time working in China over 10 years ago. Always brought my kites to fly. What did you use to get the aerial shots? Why I ask.... I am a kite aerial photographer...🪁🪁🪁
What fun! Standing underneath those massive and beautiful and cleverly designed kites would have blown me away, too~ It must have been such an awesome spectacle to see those kites even for those driving up to that event and getting a glipse from a distance. Especially at nighttime, those large, light--up ones look so cool against the night sky and give me amusement park/local fair/carnival vibes!
6:48, that one is my favorite, what was it supposed to be? a spinning angelfish? some of the kites are pretty scary, like the alien-like squids, and the caterpillar, as well as the Qing Shi Huang which kinda reminded me of nearly headless nick in HP, lol, they are cute, but scary.... and I'd thought there would be food tour after the kite show...........
When I was 10 years old and my brother 12 in 1975 I remembered my father as a present brought us as a gift a Chinese kite from the San Francisco kite festival which was a traditional event at the west coast city SF. It was a 15 metre long dragon black on chrome like colour nontearing extra strong alaminum like paper with a range of 2km. robe length! My brother still keeps it I hope
I heard one dude came to the festival site with a little tiny kite, thought he was able to join the kite competition, later was told his kite was too tiny even in the children group. lol

You're right, the dragon kites are amazing. Something about so many kites being stacked high into heaven is so beautiful.
Captivating when you watch it in person Bryan.
This is very awesome to look at. I wish I was there to feel the excitement and surrounded with beautiful and colourful kites.
Very cool! The dragon (4:18) that looks like it is coming down from the sky especially.

@@TravelinChina I also have to mention the vibrant colors of the kites that make this event so joyous and each kite so beautiful.

So glad to hear you liked it
Amazing 😊
Wow, it's amazing, how did they do it? not tied up with each others' kites.
That happens a lot. But they're used to it, they just pull them down and untangle the lines. And then fly them again! So quick.
Wow! Manificent display!! Loved the night ones, kites lit up with lights! Never seen that before.
Great
Spectacular
Amazing. Wish I were there!

博主总是很快乐!❤

Wonderful video. Spent time working in China over 10 years ago. Always brought my kites to fly. What did you use to get the aerial shots? Why I ask.... I am a kite aerial photographer...🪁🪁🪁
Thanks. Used a standard DJI mini drone. Weather was excellent so footage came out great.

hahaha it’s so funny that one minute it’s showing those giant octopus kites floating in the sky, and the next minute is BBQ squid/octopus 铁板鱿鱼😂 2:15
Hahaha... Finally, someone noticed!
Magnificent !
Those cosmonaut...cute!
am from qingdao (a bigger city nearby) and it’s so great to hear a familiar accent!!
Hello Stu! It looks fun over there in China.
Hope it did not fly accidentally to USA. Otherwise, they will be frightened by it and shoot it down with missiles.
🤣🤣
If it ever happened I hope it'd be the octopus then they'll say each tentacle has cameras to watch US citizens 🤣
Stop👽👽👽👽
Ouch...😋
Good one😂
Nice to see people from all world 🌎 in China.....having fun celebrating together 🪁🌈
The war crimes may shoot down the bigger balloons 🫧;)

What a night show!
Truly superb isn't it!

That's a double line sports kite, I believe. They make a great noise in the air.
Qing shi huang Kite so funny , 😂
Wow! A great place to be.
😀🤩😊🙏👍🙏
Haven't seen you for ages
Hi Jenny!
The LED Kite is so beautiful, omg i wish i could be there
If I didn't know better, I will think it a hot air balloon 🎈
The biggest one festival!
Looks like you had return to China

What a wonderful gift! Hope your brother takes it out to fly every now and then if he's still got it.
I'm going to buy a kite for Taobao now 😂
Enjoy! Stick to the simple ones to start with. I bought a soft body kite last year and couldn't get it in the air.
UK theme kite? How about a Rishi Sunak kite?
My home town Stu 我们隔了1km
does it count as balloon or kite if inflate it? hmm
非常壯觀,有機會也想去現場參觀👏
6:39 🎉
