That was a solid, balanced, and honest review. Not exactly an off-road test but overall appreciate the comments about the pickup. I'm a new subscriber and look forward to your car reviews! If I'm not mistaken this was originally a British vehicle named LDV but was rebadged as Maxus when a Chinese company bought it around a decade ago. But I think in some countries like Australia and NZ it's still badged as LDV. I think the key point in appreciating this vehicle is that it's a workhorse pickup with some creature comforts, and not the other way around. And for the low price point, it's quite impressive!
Just a small tip, those selectable 4wd/4x4 modes can only be selected on dirt or other slippery surfaces, turning it on the tarmax/concreted would grind the gears of the 4x4 transfer case. Otherwise, good review
The main difference with awd cars and 4wd cars is that awd cars are meant to drive all wheels, all the time, for stability, but not really for offroading. On the other hand, 4wd trucks and SUVs are more for additonal traction during offroad scenarios, thus is only meant to be driven on 2wd on high grip surfaces.
Great review with one exception. 1.3M PhP is about $26,000 USD, Not $20,000. If this variant was $20K it would be an absolute steal. BTW, you might be confusing 4WD and AWD. It seems you expected this truck to perform like an AWD, which it's not.
what is it with Chinese cars and agricultural manufacturers where they keep changing the make names instead of building a brand (or are they trying to shake off some bad reputation...) In Australia 2020 the make is LDV, go figure

Never run four-wheel drive while on the blacktop or concrete! You will destroy the transfer case and transmission.

Already cheaper for a 4x4 but too bad if there is no GPS feature. Think that this is for off road and long distance driving so an inset map is a must.
