Just want to clear up a confusion at 3:16 in which it seemed like I was talking about Messi's departure in 2021 but that wasn't the case. I was talking about the time he wanted to leave in 2020, when he had that whole saga with Bartomeu over the former President's failure to keep his promise of letting him leave at the end of the season if he wanted to. I didn't go into full details because the video was about Pedri and not Messi. My apologies for that, I should have framed the information a little better to avoid confusions. Thanks you all for the support on this video. Words cannot explain how grateful I am for all the recent support in the last few months.
"Hopefully as time progresses, people will no longer see him as the next iniesta, but the first Pedro Gonzalez... The first PEDRI' That was beautiful mate
Laliga officials were particularly harsh on koeman and he didn't get any support from Laporta either. He was an okay manager but was kind of stubborn and had problems with certain players
The comparison is inevitable, especially since like you said Xavi has joined in as well in his Iniesta comparison and also he is wearing the no 8. But i think it's because we always think there will never be another Messi,or another maradonna or Zidane but what are the chances of barca finding a player who is so similar to Iniesta or Xavi in his way of playing and at 19 or 20 yrs old is doing almost the same things like Iniesta did on the pitch. The guy is already top 5 CMs in the world rightnow at 20 yrs old.
I’ve been looking forward to this video! Thank you for taking the time to make it! :) I’m in class, but now I’ll have something to listen to on my way home :)
With the new role he has in our 4 midfield system, he sometimes reminds me of how Messi operates in the midfield, he helps the team out of tricky situations and has the ability to dribble or distribute the ball with few mistakes. It’s like he always knows what to do it’s amazing
Pedri does not seem to have the same ball control as Iniesta. Maybe it's related to his young age, but at this moment, although he is an amazing young player, he does not control the ball as perfect as Iniesta did. Remember, Iniesta's ball control was at the same level as Messi's. When he moved the ball during dribling, the ball looked to be glued to his feet.
As a Barca fan I know Koeman wasn’t the best of managers, but I give him credit for many things like trusting in Pedri and giving him his breakout season, also completing that awesome Copa Del Rey run to the final and winning it. That Copa Del Rey win under Koeman was one of the best moments I can remember during that season, especially Pedri becoming a starter.
Pedri deal with his former team Las Palmas was valued in 50 million euros with head-ons package two of the teams knew what they had but what was different that he wasn't supposed to play in the first team in the first season we had injuries in Barcelona.
i will go against many Barca fans, Pedri will never be able to reach or even go past Iniesta's level. I hope he will be able to follow Xavi's model, or even Rakitic.
If we had to compare Pedri and Gavi to Xavi and Iniesta, I'd say that Gavi is more like Iniesta and Pedri plays the Xavi role, he controlls the game while Gavi is always trying to mess up the opponents defence
Barca’s defense is literally the only thing that’s holding them back from dominating again. A world class centerback with Araujo, maybe a more natural right back as well.
Messi didn't want to leave. Yeah he did at first, but he changed his mind. Barca just couldnt afford him. He even offered to cut his wage in half and it still didn't work.
Due to Barcelona’s lacklustre financial situations alongside their lack of success without Messi, and kinda bad ending they had with Messi, people have written Barcelona off. I mean I’ve seen so many people not rating Pedri or Gavi, or Barcelona because their in a rebuild phase where they can’t exactly just buy back Messi and then buy back Neymar. I mean it’s always a bunch of excuse for when they perform and then a bunch of hate when they don’t perform one game. Like Real Madrid losing to Barcelona without Benzema 4-0 last season, but then people saying since Benzema wasn’t there the Barcelona team wouldn’t be as worried, but then they end up losi mg 3-1 where Gavi an 18 smoked past defending UCL and CL winner Real Madrid. Like wtf bruh, these guys are 18 and 21 doing this shit to Real Madrid who still have their most established players. It’s just crazy how people don’t rate them since they haven’t ‘won’ anything yet. Like of course they haven’t won anything yet, there team is full of young players and in a rebuilding phase
It's quite normal in football for a team in transition to be ridiculed simply because they are not performing well. The most important thing is to recognize that there is progress, which is very clear in this Barca team. They went from 9th under Koeman to title contenders in just over a year. I think with the case of Pedri and Gavi, people want to see if they can still be able to continue this for the next 3-4 years before they are taken seriously. And the fact that the team is constantly getting knocked out of the Champions league's group stage is also giving rival fans enough ammunition to attack the credibility of both the team and players. Everything requires time. I just hope injuries will not derail any of their careers because that's the only thing that kills great player's careers. Although I'm not a Barca fan, I still hope this team progresses and starts to challenge for the Champions league because this is a giant club with a lot of historical significance built upon a culture I admire a lot.
This wasn't what I meant and I explained it in a pinned comment.

Great video but you got the whole Messi story wrong. By the time he left, Laporta was already back at the presidence of the club. Thing is, finantial fair-play and the terrible inheritance from Bartomeu and Rossell made it impossible to inscribe Messi, so he had to go to literally the only club who could afford him. It's a more complex than "he had enough and left", which is also not true at all.
I was actually talking about the time he wanted to leave in 2020 not when he left in 2021. The fault was mine in the way I said it. Sorry about that.

@@IllustroFootball Yeah it felt weird that you wouldn't know it, and anyone that doesn't know about that situation could end up resenting Barça, you know what I mean. Had to clarify!! Cheers man.
He isn't the next Iniesta, if anything he is the next Xavi. I can't believe people look at Gavi and say he is the next Xavi and look at Pedri and say he is the next Iniesta. It's the other way around, if anything. Also, they are both still young and have room to grow. I'd rather wait, see what they have and how they grow, instead of talking nonsense now. Also, I'm certain that the best Barca midfielder right now is De Jong. He should play more, to be honest I don't understand how he isn't part of the starting trio. The youngsters are of course young, so I don't see why they are the ones starting every game, while keeping players like De Jong and Kessie on the bench. I'd understand it if they were, indeed, the best players in their positions, but Gavi and Pedri aren't that right now, though I'd they've grown in this past season. Personally, I more of a fan of Gavi, because of his Iniesta like dribbling. That's all.
Ohh! That wasn't my intention. I was talking about the first time he wanted to leave. But yeah, I should have mentioned the real reason for his departure rather than casually mentioning it later.
Messi did have enough. He asked to leave the year before, then wanted to stay because he believed Laporta could change things, but the club finance didn't allow him to stay .even after he left. Barca had problems and had to get levers to register players

He isn't the next Iniesta, he is the first Pedri. He is unique. A kind of his own. Magical. Special.
This comment is gold.
Pedri is Pedri
Well said 😏
Iniesta is GOAT. Can he become the GOAT
Exactly! Pedri is Pedri, he will become first Pedri GOAT!🔥❤
"Hopefully as time progresses, people will no longer see him as the next iniesta, but the first Pedro Gonzalez... The first PEDRI'

Thanks
Pedri and aroujo are my favorite players at the moment, they are both very special in their respective role
Balde just added to it
Balde is so underrated
We talked shit about Van Gaal in Spain, but he saw something in players like Iniesta and Puyol. Same thing with Koeman.
If I'm grateful to Koeman for one thing that would be trusting on young players and mostly importantly Pedri.
For real every young player xavi is enjoying now was introduced by koeman from pedri , gavi , balde , arajuo
Laliga officials were particularly harsh on koeman and he didn't get any support from Laporta either.

He collects ball and never loses ball like Xavi

If Pedri had to join another club he would be really good at Arsenal
Great vídeo bro im so happy we have a bright future with these generation of players
