I was trying not to cry! It reminds me of my son's "Baby First 100 Celebration" and he was in a very lovely blue kimono, congratulations to Naji for her first 100 celebration!!! My son was very fussy too in till he saw the food and try to grab it, so cute! I do recommend to parents who have a blood line or even not to try this with their little one. Very bounding experience 🥰
all the best wishes for Nagi! I have to say, i only studied japanese culture for a short time at the university, but watching your videos i rediscovered my love for your culture again! I have to thank you a lot for all the work you are doing! and i think i will get out my japanese learning books again! I hope you can enjoy your time with your family. It is after all priceless.
Congratulations to Baby Nagi and to your family. What a joyous occasion and thank you for sharing this with us. What a wonderful tradition to show how precious children are.

Such a beautiful ceremony it was. I love to see different cultures & their own ceremonies & rituals with their uniqueness that's not seen elsewhere. I'm amazed how Japan still hasn't lost any of its cultural practices especially the indigenous Shinto traditions & is probably only going strong even in 21st century.
We Indians also have a tradition called "Annaprashana" where we feed the first morsels of rice to a baby for his/her first time. By the way, both of them are KAWAII!
CONGRATULATIONS to little Nagi-chan (and your mom on her birthday) and thank you for allowing your friends on RUclips to be able to virtually witness these beautiful ceremonies with your lovely family. OHKINI!
Very interesting tradition. I'm happy you had so many family members visiting and (seemingly) had a very nice and relaxed celeration. Also your daughters get more adorable with each video! But what happened to your goatie from 2018? It looked good on you! 😉
I loved that you showed clips of Hinatas celebration. I love Kyoto culture since, I was a child I always loved the house, temple structures and had a respect for Geisha. I'm glad that nowadays we can learn so much from different cultures and learn from Japan and Kyoto. Many blessings from Puerto Rico 🇵🇷🙏🏻
Once again, your family is always very sharply dressed! You all look so beautiful and Nagi is so Adorable! Thank you for this personal look into Japanese culture!
Congratulations to Nagi chan. This is the best video I have watched on Japanese family and tradition. The food looks amazing! Thank you for sharing with us. 💖👍
Shogo-kun, I never knew this tradition existed. Everybody feeding baby Nagi with the chopsticks 🥢 and then using the hardening stone for good teeth 🦷 was loving. I am honored that you shared your family’s special moment with us. Arrigato gozaimasu! 🇺🇸🤝🇯🇵
My husband and I are awaiting our visas to move back to Japan, and I've been wondering what we should do to celebrate once we have our kids. We both grew up in Catholic homes, me in the USA, him in Japan. Aside from it probably being difficult for us to find Catholic baptism services in Japan, we've both ended up atheist/agnostic anyway! We've been looking for a new family custom to replace our similar custom of baptism without all the overtly religious parts. When I was younger, I was surprised by many of my Japanese friends who told me they went to the shrine at the summer festival, new years, etc, but did not actually believe in deities. My impression of the Japanese and Shintoism is that it's more about tradition and custom. So in our efforts to further assimilate in Japan, omiyamairi and okuizome might be our answer! Your entire video highlighted everything that I love about baptism (ceremony, family participation, adorable outfit, etc) without all the parts I don't want. Thank you for sharing this tradition!
Thank you for sharing such precious ceremonies with us. My best wishes for Nagi chan to have a long, healthy and happy life. I also think you for sharing so much knowledge. As my Grandfather used to say, "Things are temporary but knowledge and skills last a lifetime."
I love the extra clips of Hinata's day too. Another beautiful ceremony. Thank you for sharing. Love you're Mom. Super awesome they had a futon for Nagi.
Congradulations! Best of wishes for Nagi and a strong healthy life filled with happiness and joy! As well as long restful nights for you and your wife.
You have the most beautiful, amazing family!! I seriously love every single one of you! Congratulations to Nagi on this celebration which is very new to me. I really enjoyed learning all about this.
Reminds me of a Chai (life) ceremony for a Jewish baby girl it isn’t as Intricate as this, but the celebration is just as beautiful and symbolic Congrats and mazel Tov to you’re beautiful baby girl And your family
A Simchat Bat - Celebration of a Daughter - is what it's called it can also be called a Simchat Chayim - Celebration of Life but the former is most used
AHHHHH!! That's so friggin cuuuute! I NEED to go to Japan and live there cause the culture and the family aspect are all just so much better than the U.S
Thank you so very, very much for sharing with us your beautiful day with your beautiful family! Great happiness. And infinite blessings to you and your precious loved ones. 💖🙏🏻💖
Nice tradition! I like that so many of your family members came for your daughters celebration. On the side note: You were sporting a beard a couple years ago? Nice.
Happy 100 days, Nagi. Shogo-san, I hope one day after I can finally become financially secure I can bring me and my mother and brother to Japan and explore it happily. I've loved Japan since I was a kid, and got into it after watching Pokemon as a child.
Thank you so much for sharing this, it was very interesting and informative. I'm so happy for you and your family. Many blessings. Your daughters are so cute 😁
This was very beautiful day thanks Shogo for sharing this with us I didn’t know anything this event I hope you family hasd good time there. Once again thanks for sharing this with us it warmed my heart to see much love in the room.
Thank you for sharing this very special, very beautiful moments with us 🙏🏻❤️ Amazing 🥰 Have a wonderful life, endless love, health, happiness with your family Shogo 🌱
2:14 A preschool within the walls of the shrine? That actually reminds me of something that’s common in the US, at least in the town where I grew up. A lot of Christian churches in the US will have preschools located within the church building that kids can go to. My boyfriend went to one such preschool, even though his family wasn’t very religious. It’s kind of cool how these two countries with completely different religious beliefs both came up with the idea of including a preschool in their place of worship.
Every little girl should have a daddy like you
Nooooo they shouldn’t😂
Congratulations to nagi for 100 days of being cute and awesome!

Totally learned about this from you guys!!!
This was a very wholesome video!
It's funny that the happy birthday sign on the cake and the happy birthday song were both in English.
2:14 A preschool within the walls of the shrine? That actually reminds me of something that’s common in the US, at least in the town where I grew up.
