thanks for the video. i now know how to play the first 10 seconds of la catedral
That tip to relax the bar when playing the Gmaj & the bar for Amaj is important. Without that there is alot of stress in the left hand.
Really appreciated the info on how to relax during this demanding piece of music. I don't hear teachers speak to the endurance needed for something like this. Bravo!!👏👏👏👏👏👏
This is so awesome. I really need the next part!! She’s amazing and her lessons are so easy to follow. As advance as the peace is, her explanations are clear and majority of the time I’m learning it by ear. I really want to know the next part. Thanks so much for the video.
it is hard to imagine how that kind of piece could be learnt by a youtube lesson. Apart from that, really like your perfomance
Correct.
So much wisdom in one video! Great lesson!
This piece is my ultimate goal. Lovely playing and great tutorial.
Thanks, it really helped me understand several things. Very helpful
Bravooooo!!!! Wow, I will learn it fully. Thanks for being that beautiful!
u can play this solo?
That starioned middle right finger technique is interesting looking from the start, but why?? Is she trying to avoid hitting other string??
Amazing, thank you very much, gold teaching here :) Just a question, why are there 2 versions of this piece? I'm referring to bar 10th, all music sheets I found are like your versionm with F#-G-F#-G-F#-G-F#-G but there are many played versions where a F# chord is played.... why?
Here you can see the 2 different versions imslp.org/wiki/La_catedral_(Barrios_Mangor%C3%A9%2C_Agust%C3%ADn) For example, bar 10 of Allegro
Best part of this amazing song.
why don't you use the medium finger?
she explains thats just what she prefers if you listen to the lesson and its not set in stone, just preference. Whatever works!
This is a marvelous job!
Thank you for this .
Thank you very much for the great job you've done.
Cool girl
really beautiful ! not sure if I could learn this piece through RUclips video.
I have finished this piece all but can't keep the tempo.
Where is the part 0:40 she is teaching?
Lovely!
I am learning it since the last 2 hours played 15 bars but the problem is it's very hard to remember the bars..it's not like a pop lyrics...
I hope i can play this piece it may take months but i will do it one day for sure
Thank you!
There are way more bars to cover. And among those left out are some really tricky ones. Follow-up videos are to be expected?
Yes, tricky indeed. Here they are: www.eliteguitaristclassical.com/programs/la-catedral-allegro-solemne
Is there really any purpose in a class on a complex piece that begins by explaining that you need to start by playing the fifth string with the thumb? Anyone unaware of that fact has serious problems and should be trying something slightly more manageable.
It's sad that if you watch a cello class - on Bach for example - or any other instrumental class come to that, the discussion is primarily on musical analysis. With guitarists it's almost always just about which fingers to use.
Where is the rest of the third movement
Thank you so much for your very detailed lesson, you are wonderful, BTW I love your accent, you're so cute🥰
Very good...
5:20
Very nice playing!
bravissima
Lovely clean playing, but If you listen to Barrios original recordings you will notice that there is absolutely no rubato, it is also significantly faster and consistent in tempo from start to the end even though Barrios himself can be heard to struggle in some parts (Mv.iii modulation to D Major). It is important to maintain the regularity of the larger work as a whole which is actually a rhythmically very strict composition as the inner movement ii which was originally movement i before the famous prelude was written much later. The prelude is a Milonga, the original i but now ii movement is andante religiosa that evokes the rhythm of Catholic communion (a sombre steady and arduous experience[trust me I know]). The entire work is supposed to be strict in tempo.
One of my colleagues / teachers ounce gave me great advice: "You should not adjust the music to suit your technique, rather adjust your technique to be able to play the music." - thank you Adrian Walter ;)
U really suck man
Barrios presumably played so fast because there was only a limited amount of recording capacity back then. The 3rd movement is a Allegro solemne, not a presto. There is no need to rush it. Also, there is no obligation to play a piece exactly the same way the composer played it. The whole point of interpretations is to give the piece a personal note.
Just Awesome
💙💚💛💙💚
Im stuck on the single note lines.and runs.☺
Hi,do you teach skype guitar lessons
Thanks

I need a teacher of clasical guitar......
Star Lord yes, you should find one, it is very rewarding to have a good teacher or instructor.
I heard that even the great Wynton Marsalis goes back to his teachers for top ups.
The path of classical is pain😫
i just personally dont like her interpretation and the way she looks at het guitar.. scary eyes somehow
