You are determined! You’re amazing and a true example of finding that right path for your family! I was downsized after 27 years in retail and after 9 months of trying another job in the same field I finally said WTH and applied for a totally unfamiliar field. I have been happily working in a factory. Not a path I would have first chosen. But when the doors close you need to look for the open window. Once you see how some of those transferable skills fit in your new position, you will find your new path! The differentials are also a nice perk. Lastly I may have to borrow your “Lambor-feeties”! 😂
Amanda I say yes people can live on 1400.00 it’s depends on the bare basics you need.. it can be done.. .. the amount of rent plays a big part….. I can do it .. and have done it..
Watching you figure out your budgets has helped me “play” with the numbers of my own. I’m limited to being on a super low income because I am trying to go back on SSDI. Once I get that back, I’ll be back to “normal” low income. I’m so lucky to have help from my dad.
Yes all you can do is what you can. I can’t stretch this budget much further but at least I have a plan and I can now just make it happen any extra will go towards sinking funds and savings challenges, the challenges will then go to fully funding some of my sinking funds as well.
$2800 is a fairly doable budget. That being said you need to put any leftover into an emergency fund that way if a tire blows or you get sick you aren’t in game over mode.
New sub here. If you get certified for forklift, that's another good skill you can keep in your pocket for the future, too. Congratulations on the new job! 🎉
My husband has worked in the machine room of the furniture factories for well over 30 years (can run all the old machines), and is still currently in that industry (he is 61).
Thank you. I am trying to save and budget in an easy way. The income I have is $1,400 or so too. I am 43. Regardless of my income I will budget anyway!
No need to be so defensive, it’s your budget and you do what you have to do. I think it’s amazing that you own your mobile home. This new job sounds great, especially if you can learn to drive a forklift! Good luck!
Heck yeah I even mentioned it in my interview “if you train forklift drivers I am willing to learn” Silliest part was when they asked if I had a clean driving record and yet they knew in the beginning of my interview I drive Uber Lyft…yeah I have a clean driving record lol 😂
By the way the Krazy Coupon Lady has a paycheck budget worksheet that I use that is really helpful and she doesn’t charge for it. It breaks categories down into budgeting categories and has a space for budgeted amount vs. actual. Also suggestion don’t put that extra towards the car until you have some money put away so you aren’t blowing up your budget any time you have that odd expenditure like a vet visit. If you look around you can adapt some of the methods that Robin uses from simple food simple life to buy groceries or visit dollar tree dinners to keep groceries As far as gig work goes be careful working seven days a week will eat at your health and keep in mind you may need to pay taxes.
I’ve been gig working for 5 years u do pay plenty of taxes lol I also have a monthly budgeting worksheet and a budget by paycheck sheet I created myself but thank you 😊 I just used pen and paper for the video to show you can use just simple things to budget. I also have a Etsy shop check it out 😀
Living off 2800 a month seems doable. Hopefully you get foodstamps for a bit. Because not having to have a "food budget" really helps 😂 great video amanda
Yes I am not sure what I’m doing with that honestly as you know first hand creating and editing is a very timely process. I didn’t realize how much vlogging took to edit I give you kudos!
Between the new job and gig work you’ll definitely be okay. Once hubby starts back at work too you’ll really be able to save. So happy for you! FYI: Amazon is kind of weird, said some things on your wishlist couldn’t be delivered since it’s a registry? Very odd, but you should get 3 things sometime Monday🤞🏻
I understand that there are a lot pf negative comments but i just wanted to let you know that there are pro amanda people like us too 😊 . Maybe you don't have to focus on and respond to negative people in your videos so that the rest of us don't feel like we are getting scolded lol
Amanda, I just signed up this morning for Uber, while I work full time at Walmart (10-7). Can you do a visit on your side hustles .... safety things, things to look out for from these companies (protect your wages), things to look out for from clients. I live in a somewhat rural area (western NC).
$1400 per check post-tax is VERY doable. Also, side note, I think it's worth saying if you're blocking or deleting negative comments, then why should they be responded to in videos? Of course there's nothing wrong with you saying & explaining what you want in your videos, but there's no need to repeat yourself or justifiy your budget/actions. Seems like wasted energy. ❤
@@LifeUnflintered that's fair. I get repeating the important things, but you repeating certain things like you have to defend it. For example, your car payment. Explaining the number & why you have it that way for gig working is worth repeating. Stating that people comment on your car payment amount & getting defensive about it isn't. I hope that makes sense. Not ttying to rag on you at all. Just something I noticed while listening to your videos.
I'm not saying anything bad about you getting ebt but I'm not sure how you do. I am a single mom and I'm told I make too much money with my "9 to 5". And it seems from your videos you're bringing in much more than me.
@@BonniesJourneys first I haven’t started my job yet, second cost of living is really high where I live. Average rent is 1500-1800 and I have other things that count towards my bills. Like because my main income forces me to pay extra for insurance, car payment and other expenses they count that as a deduction towards my income. I’m just fortunate to live in a mobile home park if not I would regularly be on EBT because my apartment was 1380 before we left it. It was considered low income. My best friend who was my neighbor now pays 1495.
@@BonniesJourneys also there is a lot more steps to the process when self employed like I have to show my 27 page tax forums it’s not like I can hide anything

That is wonderful❤❤❤ yay no weekends except for gig work 😊😊😊
Amazing benefits are this job😊😊😊. Awesome video

Learn to drive the forklift if you can. It is a sought after skill. My Dad drove one. He had all the overtime he could ever want.

1400 x2 per month, you can do it. I lived in 800 x2 per month. Just no take out, survival mode
$1400 would be very hard to live off of. But it certainly beats what you had before!
It’s actually less then before but it’s consistent and isn’t a rollercoaster and will continue to get us by and that’s what counts

Depends on what’s going on in my market.
