Absolutely brill timing, I've been trying to figure out exactly this sort of question, trying to pick from amongst the semi-infinite number of low(ish)-cost video microscopes out there, and you've answered so many questions I had including one I didn't even realise I had! (The boom arm modification in particular.) Thanks so much!

it's only a small sample. but I bet a lot of the cheap ones are the same as this digilife on the inside. I have used this adsm301 for work and after a months use happy to say I like it and would recommend.

Brilliant. I've been looking at the Andonstar and it looks great for the money.

glad it can go on a boom arm. getting chunky retro pcbs under there would (and appeared to be) problematic. Nice review!

I had made a 3d printed adapter for the Digilife so I was very happy to see the threaded mount on the back.

I brought the microscope & a boom arm because of this video & the boom arm screw/thread is too big for the microscope. Buyer beware.

Could you please post link to your mic boom arm? What screw size the boom arm uses?

Unfortunately, my microphone arm does not have the same thread as the microscope. what are the dimensions of the thread of the microscope so that I can buy an adapter, otherwise I cannot use the microscope on the microphone arm.
    Best regards.

I just encountered this issue today & no one can tell me thread either or how to fix my problem. How did you fix it???

Nice review ^^ I have a ADSM302 with the exact same stand and power cable, and as I repair some large PCBs I encounter the exact same issues.
For your information, you can stream the microscope video if you plug it to a computer and use OBS or other stream software. To achieve that, do not use the cable shown in your video, it is a power only cable, use the other USB cable provided.

HI, I did look and it's only 720p when used with a PC so I would use it with my HDMI capture to stream.

@@leesmithsworkshop I got the adsm301. Ordered some standard deskmic arm but want to also move the lights over to it. But i thought if i got that 3d file i could adapt it in fusion360 a bit to fit this one . Should be pretty similar

Be careful anyone using this as a guide to buy what you need as I am now stuck in a pickle.
