i just recently beated Masakado's Shadow like this too, but for general bosses of the game, i would say Magic build is the way to go after all, you will only get very good results with a Dexterity/Gun build when you just recently get Demone-hoo that can teach you Desperate Hit, which is a Almighty Gun attack, but to make him you almost need to be lvl 80, for the rest of the game if you fight enemies that have physical/gun resist, you will have to rely a lot on magic from your Demons or spending lots of magic items which is not that great since since selling them for Macca help a lot. BUT the nice part of learning phys/gun build is when you reach Shinjuku and you can learn *Blight* it says its a *"weak"* attack, but it is quite OP, definetly deals damage like Fatal Sword skill but using less MP and also you can poison your enemies, but when reaching Shibuya, well, you start to see a lot of enemies that repel/drain gun, so its gonna be kinda tough.
@@sock312 yeah, when you get around the 200 stat in either magic or phys/gun the game pretty much gets a lot easier, magic is just a tad easier due of you got 4 options to choose instead of 2 with Dx build, also that you get megido and its variations earlier too, the advantage that i forgot was that when reaching ginza you can buy a gun pleroma ring, and having that for a Dx build helps A LOT, specially when you are doing the Gaea trial
well, it does make sense cuz unlike Nocturne, where most of the demons, fiends or bosses don't have any weakness at all, SMT IV demons be it bosses or not, most do have weakness. So a mag build is better
:D It was a fun experiment. I heard some people beat him with JUST the main character but the amount of luck required to do that is beyond all acceptable limits, I don't think I want to do this battle hundreds of times so that everything would align and I would get the perfect luck for every turn.

I managed to beat him a few turns faster when I wasn't recording but there were a few times where I couldn't beat him at all.

g gonz4l I did a gun build and had no trouble at all actually. Even before desperate but I was crushing people easily

@@antichthon3597 for endgame no not really. Besides you can crit anything for more press turns. I’d say they are about even in this game
