Ta Daz 🙂 I was but I didn't see any this time. Have seen the occasional Echinoid replaced by flint but usually find them in the garden rather than the coast. Ta for having a look my friend, hope you and Edith have a lovely evening 😊😊🌵🌵

They are, that great big white lump comes straight out of a Walrus's nose 😨

The dogfish sacs we called ‘mermaid’s purses’🙂 The skate sacs look similar- much darker - never seen whelk’s eggs before- that was an education. I think the cockneys used to be very partial to whelks. But saw one of those ‘Escape to the Country’ presenters eat 1 at the stall opposite the Life Boat Station Lyme Regis, last week on TV. Don’t look appetising 😟

We call them Mermaid's purses too 🙂 Mrs loves Whelks but is worried about all the sewage going into the sea round here so won't eat them anymore 🙁 It must be ruining Whitstable's Oyster fisheries 😨

I remember watching Michael Portillo discussing whelks in Whitstable- how they were transported to London. Sewage is everywhere! My ex was at Thames Water but it had standards then & wasn’t owned by a private equity company, The Thames got cleaned up but it’s all about profit now. Our Utilities should never have been sold off. Now in the hands of foreigners who just don’t care! I would bring back British Rail too- it’s all gone wrong- mustn’t rant😀

@@dianarolph1770 I like Michael Armadillo too 🙂 It's cheaper to dump the poo at sea and then blame it on too much rain, even in a drought 😒 I'd go further, bring back Southern Railways 😎🚂
