I believe the owner doesn't like how Davey Coombs and mxsports want 100k to host a national. I forget the details but I'm pretty sure that was that's the main reason.
It simply costs Glen Helen too much money. To hold a national is lots of prep and expense and there could not be other events going on at the same time, nor the days beforehand. Why hold one race over 3 days when you could hold 5 races?
