Whats really sad about the hearing voices is after going thru that with my younger brother, they put him in the psych ward for evaluation and wanted to heavily medicate him and release him. No one did any head Xray or CT to see if there was a physical cause.. He later had brain surgery for a tumor found after seizures started. It did help and we got our brother back but he later passed at home probably after a seizure and hit his head.... how many may have a physical cause that isn't checked....
I was in lockdown for several weeks with a highly medicated inmate who was seeing demons playing tag with intestines. On so much lithium they couldn’t read. Had to make room for someone else in the rubber room. I think they just use it to get them medicated enough to take their meds when told. Because as soon as they asked if they could take a little less that’s what they were told.

@victordelorientis8763 eh you're pretty wrong, because drug induced psychosis is VERY REAL AND VERY DANGEROUS and a Doctor should be able to diagnose and treat it. Physicians LOVE TREATING all drug users like drug seekers during hospital visits and immediately dismiss any and all concerns.
@victordelorientis8763 Using drugs is largely connected to mental illnesses, conditions and trauma. The doctors dropped the ball on doing their jobs and getting him the help he needed. There was at least 2 justifications in keeping this guy or at least finding the cause and making sure he could get treatment. 1.) Not releasing someone a danger out into society without proper treatment and medication and 2.) Protect said patient from harming self. Clearly too many people knew he had a problem and dropped the ball. Drs and nurses were responsible for not getting to the root cause which could also be a brain tumor at times. The hospital Drs should be fully liable.
Another case of the state failing mental illness patients. This man probably promise this poor girl the world and instead she found her own demise Clearly she didn't know who she got married to. Mental illness combined with drugs it's a tragedy waiting to happen. This could've been prevented. So sorry for the woman who lost her life so young.
That's a sad outlook to have. You can't live a full life if you are scared to actually experience and live life. Just take reasonable precautions and you should be fine.
The saddest part of this is that schizoprhenia is easily diagnosed. It is also manageable. The hospital should have known right away that he needed to speak with psych. Perfect age for onset, and symptoms of psychosis . Shame on them for releasing him.
@@yenada That's not how that works. Substance abuse is more common for people with schizophrenia. Schizophrenia is not an after affect of drugs. @@yenada Im sure the drugs didn't help. I agree it is a terrible tragedy. I pray for their families and friends and loved ones and hope that they find a path to peace.
This guy should have been taken to a psych ward first and questioned later. Between the doctors and law enforcement, this looks like to wrong place to live.
Mental health is off the charts these days. This is a sad story and I don’t know why doctors don’t listen to people when they say they are hearing voices.
I videoed my miner having hallucinations caused by ADHD meds he was on and his doctor told me to keep them on when I showed her. Completely unwilling to even look at it and admit it was awful med. He was pulled off the night before his appointment and we never went back to that doctor. My son is homeschooled no longer on those awful meds and thriving. He received counseling and learned skills to cope with ADHD symptoms. Got down to bottom of all diagnosis and they were very wrong. He is high functioning autistic with sensory disorder and does not have ADHD. The healthcare system, the public school system are complete jokes.
@@us4damons there are more that you don’t hear. With 340+ million Americans there are probably enough calls in one year that it would take a lifetime for someone to listen to all of them.

911 operator who was speaking to the dad was outstanding. No pointless questions and she was so professional. This could have been avoided had that doctor kept him in. I don’t know how these poor parents will get over this . That poor woman must have been terrified when he attacked her. Terrible.

@@motherofbeagles8532all of that was a misunderstanding. The cop thought the body was in the father’s house. (It wasn’t). lol A citizen not wanting the cops to search his home shouldn’t be seen as suspicious. We do have a right to privacy.
Naw, I don't think the dad was such a bad guy. Just looked to me like he was concerned about harm coming to his dogs and had seen enough destruction already. The officer just misunderstood which house they needed to go into which made him defensive. Simple misunderstanding😑
So the dad told the doctors that they had to keep him because he was hearing voices etc... and the doctors just cleared him ? The dad, so the person that knows best his son, clearly said there's something wrong with him, and the doctors just say "Hey, seems pretty normal to me!" and the next day the guy kill his wife. Freaking sue those fake doctors edit: Those cops are really bad at taking informations, never seen the cop just said "okay, okay" and when he goes tell what he knows, he just says well the girl name is anggy, she worked at thingplace and sergeant thing is coming, that's it like really ?
@TawnyC_ there's very little mental health services. Most deeply afflicted that would have been institutionalised are now simply thrown in prison/jail. Which only amplifies the issue
But did he? Without the son's medical records, we only have the father's word. He may have thought he mentioned it, but didn't. He may have told a nurse, not a doctor. Then, that nurse went into the next room, and had to help hold down a violent patient, and forgot to pass on that information to the doctor. The father may not have been allowed in his adult son's room, or not even gone to the hospital with him, and now he knows his son is in trouble, and he is saying that to alleviate his responsibility. One thing I have learned in my 28 yrs as an RN: people lie. Another thing I have noticed, is everyone is willing to put all of the blame on the hospital who may or may not have been aware of him hearing voices, but none on his parents who would have been 100% aware of it, but did nothing to protect their daughter in law by asking her to stay with them in their home. If they were so convinced that their son were a threat, why let her stay alone with him? Why not bring him immediately to another hospital? Why not sit up all night with him until he could be evaluated in the morning by emergency psych services? There were many things the parents could have also done to prevent this. Unless, of course, you are willing to admit that no one could have foreseen this. That would then let the hospital off the hook for any responsibility, too. Just some things to think about while quarterbacking from the armchair.
The detectives clearly don't understand he's most likely still in a schizophrenic state or just recovering from one which includes memory loss and confusion.
Unfortunately it is also common that Emergency room doctors release them when they really need to be sent to a mental hospital and forcibly evaluated and treated in a safe lockdown facility.
What's the likelihood he had insurance that covers psych stuff? Many don't or put big restrictions on level and length of care. You wouldn't believe how much insurance controls if and what you get treated for. Hospitals boot you out if you're under insured or no insurance at all.
One of these days we are gonna start taking mental health issues seriously i blame that hospital for releasing him while he was actively "hearing voices"
Its a scientific fact that a lot of males in their 20's just suffer from schizophrenia out of nowhere, couple that with drugs and we have ourselves a killer and the prison system are filled with them. I see a lot of folks blaming the hospitals but it's there policy to stabilize and release. You need a fortune teller to see the future. I just feel for the families so much.
Yep, I also find it odd the amount of people that think the hospital could/should have held him because the family asked them to. If he was coherent enough to answer any questions the doctors asked then their hands are tied.
@@wln8888 Look it up, researching it yourself isn't hard. There's plenty of information from medical studies and medical facilities like the Mayo Clinic on Schizophrenia and when it usually develops in men, the peak being 21-25. It may seem like it's out of no where, and there's no conclusive reason as to why it happens. Some suspect it has to do with estrogen levels, or also a link between DNA modifications and early brain development.
@ the “a lot” part is inaccurate because it’s actually a small percentage but everything else checks out. Males that have undiagnosed schizophrenia tend to start showing signs in their late teens early 20s. Same thing with females only it’s typically late 20s early 30s.
It seems that he used drugs and then killed his wife. A drug head who destroyed his wife's life and his own life!. Drugs are vileness so avoid them or face the consequences.
She married into that dodgy family and didn't know what she was getting into. They were having police called on them all the time. No wonder the son was disturbed, not to mention the drugs. He was taking every drug under the sun, BUT the meth. Poor girl, 21 years old, ambitious, sweet, everything to live for. Something was wrong with Jared and his family and she knew it as soon as the ink dried on their marriage license. Her friends saw her change overnight. He had no right to take her life. Her family back home will be wishing she had never left. I hope her mother survived the cancer but what an awful burden to carry forever.
Cuz the cop mentioned he was there ONE TIME about a car...that's the cops being called all the time and they're dodgy? How entitled and judgmental....yuck. 🙄🤬🤮
If he had a decent lawyer they would have had everything from that interview thrown out. The police knew that he was mentally unstable, the lead officer stated it on tape prior to the interview. You can't consent if you are under the influence or in the midst of a psychotic episode. The prosecution got lucky with him obviously having a crap lawyer who had him take the first deal that they offered.
Years ago, my family member was dating a nice girl, she either was a Dr., or studying to be, I don't remember. I told her in no uncertain terms about his problems, there was no fixing him, and if she didn't get away immediately she would spend the rest of her life wishing she had. I felt she was owed a heads-up. He's gone on to wreak havoc on anyone and everyone in his orbit. Glad I could save one, sorry it was necessary. This guy's parents should have warned her.
Should have kept him for further evaluation, 😟 another failure with the system,😤 so extremely disheartening to hear this. 💔 Mental illness is real. His dad/ family, etc, knew something was terribly wrong with the dude.😕
Exactly what the sheriff was saying at a recent press conference after one his deputies was killed by a mentally unstable individual driving around with a ton of weapons. That person's family also knew the guy was sick and no one was doing anything to help. The heartbroken sheriff (bless him) said pretty much how we all feel - family members, people in the know, should be taking steps to make sure they're getting treated. Not unleashing them to the world.

Because often paranoia or embarrassment leads people to not want to involve family in mental health matters. You heard the dad - he begged the hospital to keep him, they failed him letting him home
There's a dozen possibilities here. Maybe their vehicle broke down. Maybe he wouldn't let them. Maybe they were afraid of being in a locked vehicle with him. Maybe they were sick with the flu. Obviously there was some sort of reason. It's not like the RUclips viewers are going to know any more than you do.
This is our health care system, I man begging for help and he’s told that he’s fine and is sent home. Whatever doctor saw him should lose his license and spend time in jail, the hospital should pay her family millions for a doctor not caring a man needed help.
On what basis?? You can't keep people without any justifications. If the patient doesn't tell the doctors that he wants to harm himself or harm others, there is no basis to keep him. He shouldn't have taken drugs, nobody forced him to take drugs. Actually, the law says to not take drugs!!
@ the insurance regarding mental health needs reform. The psychiatrist just does enough, sends patient home despite family members ( who know patient best) have great concerns regarding safety of patient and others, ( begging the doctors to keep their loved one). In this case the father begged for the psych hospital to keep his son. Within days his son murdered the wife. It’s a broken system.
@@victordelorientis8763 It doesn't matter if he "wants" to harm himself or others. It matters if he's a danger to himself or others. And the way he has acting and him hearing voices, that's definitely a danger. Involuntary hospitalization is common in cases like that, doctor just needed to fill out a clinical certificate and mental health petition.
I would be stunned if this young man saw a psychiatrist while in the hospital. They likely treated him for a drug overdose or drug reaction. Many small hospitals have no psychiatrist on staff.

Clearly too many people knew he had a problem and dropped the ball. Drs and nurses were responsible for not getting to the root cause which could also be a brain tumor at times. The hospital Drs should be fully liable.

The saddest part of this is that schizoprhenia is easily diagnosed. It is also manageable. The hospital should have known right away that he needed to speak with psych. Perfect age for onset, and symptoms of psychosis . Shame on them for releasing him.

Ummmm you think we actually NEEDED a blow by blow explanation of that? A well known often used phrase???
How bizarre.
Oh my gosh nice dispatchers for once!!

If I were interviewing him I would ask him if this “thing” is telling him to not answer the questions.
His father probably told him not to talk. He really didn't want the cops inside his house so he is aware of his rights
@@motherofbeagles8532all of that was a misunderstanding. The cop thought the body was in the father’s house. (It wasn’t). lol A citizen not wanting the cops to search his home shouldn’t be seen as suspicious. We do have a right to privacy.

That is a shed.
Freaking sue those fake doctors
edit: Those cops are really bad at taking informations, never seen the cop just said "okay, okay" and when he goes tell what he knows, he just says well the girl name is anggy, she worked at thingplace and sergeant thing is coming, that's it like really ?
Probably didn't have insurance. So the doctors adjudged him "fine."
Doctor and hospital need to be sued!!
@TawnyC_ there's very little mental health services. Most deeply afflicted that would have been institutionalised are now simply thrown in prison/jail. Which only amplifies the issue
mayberry
That whole interview should have been tossed out. He can't consent to the interview and acknowledge his rights when he's in that state.
Unfortunately it is also common that Emergency room doctors release them when they really need to be sent to a mental hospital and forcibly evaluated and treated in a safe lockdown facility.
💯 correct
Scientific fact ? Where is your science sourced from?
Incorrect, ‘it’s not a lot of males.’

Because often paranoia or embarrassment leads people to not want to involve family in mental health matters. You heard the dad - he begged the hospital to keep him, they failed him letting him home
