Whats really sad about the hearing voices is after going thru that with my younger brother, they put him in the psych ward for evaluation and wanted to heavily medicate him and release him. No one did any head Xray or CT to see if there was a physical cause.. He later had brain surgery for a tumor found after seizures started. It did help and we got our brother back but he later passed at home probably after a seizure and hit his head.... how many may have a physical cause that isn't checked....

I was in lockdown for several weeks with a highly medicated inmate who was seeing demons playing tag with intestines. On so much lithium they couldn’t read. Had to make room for someone else in the rubber room. I think they just use it to get them medicated enough to take their meds when told. Because as soon as they asked if they could take a little less that’s what they were told.

Mental health issues are not taking seriously at all. Andrea Yates killed her 5 kids after saying she was hearing voices. Her insurance didn't covered her hospital stay for more than a week. It was the hospital and the insurance IMHO who were responsible for 5 children's lives being taken. Andrea Yates was nuts and the hospital knew it, and the health insurance did not care to let her stay for months if necessary. Money, money, money. If the hospital fought for Andrea Yates at the time, refusing to release her, 5 kids would be alive. I have no doubt about that. She needed medication and observations for long term.

You say that regular people don't kill and that they need help not prison.
I'm a very liberal minded person who totally believe in rehabilitation rather than revenge like the Juridical System is sat up in The US.
      However.
There is a HUGE difference between someone being seriously ill with Schizophrenia killing someone because they hear voices compared to a raging, jealous, controlling man who has abused his partner for years and finally beats her to death.
A woman who kills her husband because she's recently got a $1 life insurance on him and she's tired of him, she deserves prison.
Greed, abuse, jealousy and such, that's just evil.
Real mental illnesses though, that's totally different and should never ever be put in prison.
      They deserve help.
Everyone deserve help but people who kill out of greed or control are often not that interested in help. Many of them are sociopaths and psychopaths and sadly there isn't much hope of them changing even with intense therapy.
But everyone who is open for therapy even the worst psychopath should get the therapy.
Nothing is better than people wanting to change.

Taking drugs isn't a medical condition. People take drugs and they have to bear the consequences of their actions. If the patient isn't honest, the doctor has no justification to keep him. If he had said something about wanting to kill someone, they would have kept him.

    • @ChloeFromUtah
      @ChloeFromUtah 16 часов назад

@victordelorientis8763 eh you're pretty wrong, because drug induced psychosis is VERY REAL AND VERY DANGEROUS and a Doctor should be able to diagnose and treat it. Physicians LOVE TREATING all drug users like drug seekers during hospital visits and immediately dismiss any and all concerns.

@victordelorientis8763 Using drugs is largely connected to mental illnesses, conditions and trauma. The doctors dropped the ball on doing their jobs and getting him the help he needed. There was at least 2 justifications in keeping this guy or at least finding the cause and making sure he could get treatment. 1.) Not releasing someone a danger out into society without proper treatment and medication and 2.) Protect said patient from harming self. Clearly too many people knew he had a problem and dropped the ball. Drs and nurses were responsible for not getting to the root cause which could also be a brain tumor at times. The hospital Drs should be fully liable.

The dad, so the person that knows best his son, clearly said there's something wrong with him, and the doctors just say "Hey, seems pretty normal to me!" and the next day the guy kill his wife. Freaking sue those fake doctors

But did he? Without the son's medical records, we only have the father's word. He may have thought he mentioned it, but didn't. He may have told a nurse, not a doctor. Then, that nurse went into the next room, and had to help hold down a violent patient, and forgot to pass on that information to the doctor. The father may not have been allowed in his adult son's room, or not even gone to the hospital with him, and now he knows his son is in trouble, and he is saying that to alleviate his responsibility. One thing I have learned in my 28 yrs as an RN: people lie. Another thing I have noticed, is everyone is willing to put all of the blame on the hospital who may or may not have been aware of him hearing voices, but none on his parents who would have been 100% aware of it, but did nothing to protect their daughter in law by asking her to stay with them in their home. If they were so convinced that their son were a threat, why let her stay alone with him? Why not bring him immediately to another hospital? Why not sit up all night with him until he could be evaluated in the morning by emergency psych services? There were many things the parents could have also done to prevent this. Unless, of course, you are willing to admit that no one could have foreseen this. That would then let the hospital off the hook for any responsibility, too. Just some things to think about while quarterbacking from the armchair.

There was no father and Im guessing she was here illegally. She came to the US to work so she could finance her mother's cancer treatment back in her home country.
If the cancer didnt kill her, her daughter's murder will.
Angie wanted that green card in a bad so she could help her family. How very sad.

I’m tired of seeing cases where you 💯 percent know the perpetrator has mental, real mental issues and what do we do , we lock them up in prison without any medical care. ( mental crisis) my son is an RN @ a mental health clinic and I know several people suffer and most patients don’t get help, they end up in prison. Sad this had to happen so sad .
