Why Does God Heal Some People but Not Others? | Episode 16

  • Pentecostals believe firmly in divine healing. This belief is based on Scriptures such as James 5:14-15, which says that, if a person is sick, they should ask the elders of the church to anoint them with oil in the name of the Lord, with the expectation that God will work a miracle. In Mark 16:18, Jesus promised believers that they would lay hands on the sick and see them recover.
However, personal experience shows that not everyone who receives prayer or is anointed with oil is healed. Dr. David K. Bernard addresses the question of how to reconcile this reality with what God says in His Word about divine healing.

My son's were both Baptized in Jesus Name 10 months before he passed. Like brother you said God didn't intervene, I was able to make my amends to both boys and I was able to tell Rueben not to be mad at Jesus for not healing him on earth. Then I went on to mention How awsome to take you're last breath on earth and take your first breath in Heaven and to leap to Jesus.

Dear Bishop I don't agree with this. I suffer from Hemifacial spasm and I still encourage our ladies in church and go out to minister and still believe in the miracle working God. I have been doing this for the past 6 years with this disease whereas anyone suffering won't go out as it affects ones appearance. So it's definitely not lack of faith

All in all have compassion on the sick. No one should be treated like a plague rat. This mentality that is showing itself in our world concerning the unvaccinated and how these people must be shunned and made to pay for their choice or be forced against their will is disgusting and unGodly. It is the very same spirit of Nazism in 1940's Germany and we must stand against it. Remember that Christ reached out and showed compassion on even the leapers of His day.

Maybe…it could be, that no body is seeking after the gift of healing that comes through the Holy Ghost. It’s easier to say “they don’t have faith” when you don’t operate in the gift of healing. It’s easier to say “it’s just not Gods plan” when you don’t operate in the gift of miracles. It’s easy to just stop at “speaking in tongues” instead of seeking the greater gifts.

Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me. But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. For the sake of Christ, then, I am content with weaknesses, insults, hardships, persecutions, and calamities. For when I am weak, then I am strong.

Can it be sometimes it’s just our time to die? We have a hard time accepting that and ask for healing and hoping, but our number is up.
death is sometimes God word in action. I head someone teach, The wages of sin is death. As with aging, we get to see the beauty and power of Gods mighty words still in action as we watch aging occurring. As “a time to die”. Beautiful. Powerful. There is none like our God. None.

Now you care so your the only one who is in person with them and one day they die in your arms and you feel so helpless and so heartbroken coz you just lost someone who was really close to you and was there for you always No one understands or feels this Pain except you and God in Heaven knows coz he was there with me

Question: If divine healing is because of the atonement, how do we explain divine healing before the resurrection, after which atonement through the blood of Jesus was made accessible to believers? Or is my understanding of atonement incorrect?

Think about it this way. The promise of Christ dying for our sins and dying on the cross was prophesied in Isaiah 53. And through his stripes we are healed. Jesus paid the price so we could all be healed through his blood. Prior to this we look at the prophecies/promises that were going to be fulfilles . Many experienced that healing through the promises that were coming. Prior to the cross we looked at the promises that it was coming to fulfillment. And now we look back at the finishes work of the cross.

Lack of faith? Really? My sister passed away from breast cancer, a pastors wife. Faithful to the Lord till the end and it was her fault she wasn’t healed? This teaching is deceptive and hurting the church.

    • @tsahaimorgan
      @tsahaimorgan 2 года назад +2

So sorry to hear about your sister. He did however preface to say that many faithful believers in the Bible were not healed even though they prayed because it was what God wanted. As you mentioned, your sister was faithful to the Lord until the end, so I would like to believe that she didn't abandon her faith even in the midst of her pain, but grew in faith despite her pain, and was more than likely an awesome example to other believers in a better physical position who gave up the faith for less. My church mother was similarly very ill for a long time, and God expressly revealed to her that He allowed her illness for His Glory. In our minds, it may seem very unfair, but God knows best in all instances. And I believe your sister will rejoice when she meets her Lord & Saviour in heaven.

This is the kind of teaching that led me to atheism. The previous statement I just said may discredit me in your mind, but if you read the book of Mark. The very last bit of chapter 16, this pastor misquotes, and misleads by saying gift. There are a number of signs that follow believers, not for the believers sake, but for the non believers sake. They always say it was God's will. That's somehow supposed to comfort you. If someone miraculously was healed of cancer, wouldn't that be a far greater impact than her praying for healing and never getting jt? As the other commenter said I am sorry for your loss.

I don't believe that the signs in Mark were gifts. I believe they were signs to show non believers the path to Christianity. It is a given, according to the Bible, that we would be healed in the after life, of all our afflictions. Why would Jesus spend his last words to the apostles reiterating something known since the days of Moses? My personal belief, if there is any truth to the Bible, is the one praying is responsible for faith, not the afflicted.

    1. Could I suggest turning up the gain on the compressor for when Pastor speaks pretty lowly in volume? I have my volume maxed and still finding it a tad bit hard to hear him.
    2. If not the compressor, maybe the threshold that deals with mastering?
If you don't mind, take a quick listen to the second guy that speaks, and listen how loud he is.
