I don't get the low views. I saw him live recently talk about talent he was up on stage with harmonica ,acoustic guitar, singing and song writing. He oozes talent. I really can't comprehend why his new album 'Coyote' isn't one of the biggest albums out there it certainly is one of the best. But I guess people like their Miley ciruses instead. It's a shame society is so messed up
The problem is the rule our country has about playing a certain amount of Canadian Music is not applied correctly they all play the same songs by the same dozen or so artists most of whom have already found a following in the US, so it entirely defeats the purpose of giving Canadian artists exposure who actually need it, the rules need to be updated.
Speaking of which, have you heard Adam Baldwin's solo stuff, he plays with Matt regularly, and recorded Terminal Romance and Coyote with the band. If not you really should check it out, he's just as good as Matt, but with his own different sorta style.
Wendy Morgan....thanks so much for posting this vid. It was missing for a little while from the RUclips library. As everyone knows, if you play this vid again, say, in the year 2384, it will still sound great. All the best.
Always love th3 sound of this band. TbH, as a Canadian, im sick of the Canadian content they try to jamb down our throats. Whats wrong with mixing up the artist and their tracks a bit. The tobermory repeater station i havent been able to dial in was playing some matt mays, and i was like, oh yeah! Finally matt mays on the radio again
Oh come on! Listen to the drums. Listen to the accoustic guitar riffs. Listen to the beat. Listen to the soaring vocals in the chorus and TELL ME that doesn't remind you of Orbison! And I DO appreciate the song for what it is: a wonderful pop song heavily influenced by and a loving tribute to Petty et al.
Perhaps similarities to a blend of a whole Petty songs (Learning to fly, Wont Back Down, Love is a Long Road, All the Wrong Reasons combined), but I wouldn't call that a "rip-off" perhaps an "inspiration".
I'm a big Tom Petty and Wilburys fan.. I've been listening to this song for quite a while.. I never once got that from this song.. How about just appreciate the song for what it is.. or don't listen to it? lol
First things first: I'm not using "rip-off" in a pejorative sense. I love the song, and musicians have been ripping off other musicians since time immorial. But second of all, holy cow, it is TOTALLY a Petty (or Travelling W.'s) rip-off! Anyone else want to weigh in on this?
Yeah - it's not. Not even in a non-pejorative sense (and "rip-off" is NEVER used in a non-pejorative sense). The word you might have been looking for is homage. But this isn't even close enough to be an homage. There are some similar elements, but that's true of a whole lot of music.
Why on earth would you think it's funny? It's a wonderful song, with GLORIOUS pop hooks throughout, even if it is a rather shameless ripoff of Tom Petty and, to a lesser extent, Roy Orbison, and...oh wait. You were being ironic. The whole thing about "they're all looking for hits". I get it. Never mind.
10 years later, still a classic and still.one of the best Canadian albums of the past 20 years
One of Canada’s best 😎🤘🇨🇦🤘
"now can you see this picture that i'm painting for you, its a view that you're not used to"

It's cause it's Canadian.

A poor man's Sam Roberts, and that's a huge compliment. Neither band gets the recognition in the states that they deserve.
Sam and Mat a are good surfin' buds out in L'town
And that's YOUR opinion dude. Canada ROCKS 🍁🤘🏻💗
Poor man's nothing

What dance are they doing in this video?
It was choreographed by Cory Bowles, who you can see briefly dancing at 3:37. You may know him as Cory from Trailer Park Boys.
The "redneck" line dance... with R&R instead of, ugh country music
I'm a big Tom Petty and Wilburys fan.. I've been listening to this song for quite a while.. I never once got that from this song.. How about just appreciate the song for what it is.. or don't listen to it? lol
Its eerie how similar they are. Almost haunting
Move Your Mind is The Best
Im not hearing the Petty rip off...I know he sounds similar but I wouldn't at all call this a rip off. And I'm a huge Petty fan
Learnin' to fly....
Wow.... there it is.👌
taylor is so beautiful! im the luckiest guy in the world!!!!
he's so hot
Damn looking at the number of views is painful

Awesome song, lame~ish video, but the song will forever be in my memory.
