      Maybe, but nobody is allowed see the best boats that the Spetsnaz use fast in shallow water.
      Going over 50 knots with 12-18 hevely armed soldiers, and stops with 1.5 boat length from full speed.
      But when it comes to copying, who doesn't? You think the American have not copy a shit after renting both the Visby class corvette, and also one of the Skjold class for a year each, lol. The entire space program that did work was german.
      First the American wanted try an non German rocket, that blew up, and then they had to let Werner Won Braun shoot up his rocket, that did only go up and down again, not in an orbit around the earth, like Vladimir Ilyushin Awards Hero of the Soviet Union

But it was seen, and the Chinese sent out a ski patrool, and found Vladimir Ilyushin, wounded, but alive, and got medical care in China. And even China and Soviet did not have a good relationship at the time, they did made anagreement for hide the truth.

    The information on the Skjold class is wrong.
    1. it have four turbines and no Diesel engines (only the prototype had the combination Diesel/gas-turbine engine, but due to difficulty to gear together a slow rpm engine as a diesel engine, and high rpm engine like a turbine, they instead went for all turbine set up)
    2 × Pratt & Whitney ST18M
    2 × Pratt & Whitney ST40M
    16.320 hp
    2. the top speed is not 55 knots (that was the prototype) it's official top speed is 60+knots, but people have logged them to 68 knots.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Skjold-class_corvette

  • @johnallen2771
    @johnallen2771 4 года назад +1

    The Navy should adopt that camouflage Skjold with the "Super Rabbit" they showed. Not the one they chose recently. The Skjold looks like it's a twin-hull or catamaran design with that flat, flat profile, which makes it extremely hard to hit or see in any kind of serious weather with large waves. Gets lost to radar. The Super Rabbit is what our Navy should be talking about, not the system they are using. The new Navy patrol craft is kind of a wimp whereas this system kicks ass! 16,000 HP at 55 mph. Not too shabby.

    • @CDB8939
      @CDB8939 4 года назад +1

      It is not a flat profile, it is a skirt at the front. The Skjold design is a surface effect craft, constructed of glass fibre/carbon composite materials. Buoyancy is augmented underway by a fan-blown skirted compartment between the two rigid catamaran-type hulls. This provides an alternative solution to the planing hull/vee hull compromise: the air cushion reduces wave slam at high speeds while presenting a low-drag flat planing profile at the waterline.

    • @johnallen2771
      @johnallen2771 4 года назад +1

    Nice content, very informative 👍 I had seen one of ur videos ('10 biggest fighter jets in the world') several times. I was curious and sad at the same time about something i expected but was not included in that ranking. The F35 Lightning didn't make it in the list, but mig 29 made it on 10th place. Why is that? Then, i did my research and i found out that f35's overall dimensions was actually smaller than what mig 29 has. I thought f35 is huge aircraft just by looking at it but i was wrong. I'm so glad that i did not comment and complain in that video or else it'll be humiliating 😂

Austal makes great boats and the shipyard, in Mobile, Alabama is the seventh largest in the U.S. They are making the e-class which I saw in Alabama. • @PolionL
      @PolionL 3 года назад +1

      @Peter Lorimer your entire reply was heaps of logical fallacies. You managed to get of the most popular fallacies into one brief paragraph, bravo...
      According to the Cambridge Advanced Learner's Dictionary, aka, Cambridge English Dictionary, aka, Cambridge International Dictionary of English;
      boat:
      1. a small vehicle for traveling on water
      2. a ship
      3. a vehicle for traveling on water, esp. one that is not very large
      (note; boat, while especially defines not very large craft, is not confined to such usage)
      boat: from old English from Germanic, bat; vessel, ship
      ship: from old English scip from Germanic skif; to split, boat (most likely traces back to primitive split and dug out log "ships")
      I maintain, all ships are boats.

    • @PolionL
      @PolionL 3 года назад

      @Peter Lorimer funny to see a person who cant understand the basic definition of boat use literacy as a fallacy. The writers of the Cambridge Dictionary and the etymologist who study word origins correctly identify the word ship (skif) means any water craft or vessel. Sorry the definition does not meet your superior sailor language skills.

    • @PolionL

    3:45 Gardian's not so impressive in terms of performance. Our car carrying ferries in BC are faster than that (23 kt max, 18 kt cruise) while carrying 310 cars.
    At 4:26 the ship looks distinctly nose-heavy "pushing half the ocean in front of her" as they say.

      Australia has different requirements. It’s all about long range capabilities down here at the end of the earth. Lots of warning if somebody is coming here to annoy us so no rush.

      that boat has a 6399 kms range without resupply which is the whole south coast of Australia or to put that into prospective it could travel from Darwin to hong kong or even main land china in one trip which is amazing for its size, with that range not only can it patrol the Australian coast to can also patrol the waters of east Asia
      with the right armament fit out it would be a deadly ship vs all sizes of warships but in any case aust does not operate guardian class PBs the build them for Pacific Ocean countries to police their own waters, Australia uses the Armidale-class patrol boat which will be replaced with the new Arafura Class (better then both above ships) which has a huge 7408km range 40 crew + 20, 40mm gun, this boat can pretty much put SAS on the ground in any country in Asia
