Yanqing's actor (I'm sorry, I don't know his name since I can't read Chinese) portrays just how intense that kid can be very well. That childish impatience of wanting to be better as quickly as possible serves as a double edge sword for his motivation while also making him so visibly frustrated he trips up in the middle of the fight like him taking a weapon that's too heavy for him or grabbing the sword that's too long so he can't swing it properly in such an enclosed space. The detail of him being much better with a simple wooden sword than any of the more impressive weapons is also great as well. An early Lunar New Year gift, but I'm not complaining. Thank you to everybody who had a hand in making this!
THIS! I love the portrayal of Yan Qing here and the execution of the scene. The subtle meanings if we look closely and watch.
This was delightful. The actor potray Jing Yuan and Yanqing perfectly. It also nicely illustrate why some thought/think Jing Yuan was/is training Yanqing as some kind of secret weapon lol. If kid is this good at his age imagine how he'll be as an adult. Even though Jing Yuan is a master fighter he's primarily know for his strategic genius so the idea of him training a powerful personal guard would make sense in the mind of many on the luofu.
To that end, I hope at some point its revealed how Yanqing came into Jing Yuan's care. Is he an illegitimate son? The child of a favored subordinate who died in battle? A random orphan from the battle field?
Holy crap I never thought I'd see the HSR characters in a live action setting, this is wonderful!! The amazing choreography kept me hooked from start to finish, I loved that we got to see another look into Jing Yuan and Yanqing's pasts!

Whether it's a live action version or a game version, jing yuan is still amazing, he's such a good master.
Both actors did a great job and were a perfect fit for the the roles of Yanquing and Jing Yuan. I'd love to see a live action CN drama series of Honkai Star Rail. Perfect casting here. Amazing choreography.

The sword dance looks so cool. I've been watching wuxia/xianxia cdramas and this is one of the best execution! The story telling of a youngster, Yan Qing. A talented swordsman but is impatient to prove himself. If you look closely, he chooses swords that look cool but are not suitable for him. Always taking a bite for than he could chew. As Jing Yuan said, swordsmanship takes time. Hope Yan Qing learn more than the secret technique and be more patient. He can be a great figure in the Luofu in future.

Jingliu learned on the battlefield, making it up as she went. Jing Yuan learned from the best, but with the shadow of wartime always looming above him. Yanqing is the next generation, proving that peace doesn’t necessarily equate stagnation. Yes, he may be childish and inexperienced, but just think of what a century of peaceful study will mean after he finally faces the truth of combat. He won’t be making it up as he goes, he will be honing his skills even further.
