Mr.Wheeler is my favorite pitcher. 2022 his regular season , (Game 26) W-L 12-7 ERA 2.82 IP 153.0 SO 163 WHIP 1.04 Really good season score . And it looks to me that his pitching act of being calm down and dignified on the mound really so cool. Anyway I am looking forward to MLB OPENING DAY !!! 60 Day , see you soon (💞)
For me pitchers are split up into three categories stuff, control, and complete. The bottom three guys in a rotation usually fall into the first two categories, then the top 2 fall into complete. Unless of course your the Dodgers.
As a bleed blue an orange Mets fan, this leviathan getting away hurts. To think the Phillies ONLY got him because we had Fred Wilpon AKA Fred “coupon”(the worst owner in the history of baseball). The Phillies took advantage and pounced. Even the most ardent Phillies fan would have to admit that there would have absolutely been NO WAY on GOD’S green earth that Wheeler would be a Phillies today if we had a real owner at the time wheeler was a free agent like the one we have now in Steve Cohen. There is no way he would have allowed for us to get outbid by a smaller market team, and much less to a rival in our own division(Coupon didn’t even make a bid for wheelers’s services). Steve Cohen AKA “Uncle Steve” just bought our Mets a couple of years too late as it pertains to getting Wheeler. Oh well. I guess you lucked out Phillies fans. Hold on to your future stars ⭐️ ⭐️ and preemptively sign them to longer deals before they hit free agency. Because there is a new sheriff in town in the great Borough of QUEENS NYC 🗽 BABY. And his name is STEVE COHEN!!! LGM❤.
Still no clue why Rob Thompson didn’t get the backlash that Kevin Cash got after he pulled Snell. Wheeler was absolutely dealing with a ridiculous pitch count and well we know the rest of the story.
Well, for starters, Philadelphia absolutely loves Thomson. It's safe to say that we have him to thank for a lot of our team's success. Secondly, that's how he'd been managing all postseason, and it worked well up until that point. The only question I have is why he didn't just go to Ranger Suarez, who handled Alvarez incredibly well, instead of Alvarado, who hadn't done so hot against him. Heck, the guy is an absolute beast against lefties, so why go to a lefty at all? Then there's also the fact that the Phillies fans are just grateful for the incredible run we went on, and didn't dwell too much on losing. We're just focusing on getting back there and finishing the job, once and for all!
Actually, one of the best pitchers in Major League Baseball.
Im so pissed at the Mets for letting him go😡😡😡

Wheeler has certainly hit his stride; his numbers in Philly (2.80 FIP and 149 ERA+) speak for themselves.
Underrated player.

surely his former team made it further than the phillies last year right?
