I love the design and feel! You are spot on Zach that the original buyer does not typically off-road. It is a cruiser - a Land Cruiser 300 upscale. It is the most comfortable SUV I have ever driven. Great review from a wonderful car couple!
The old people reading this may remember Tom McCahill, the original car tester at Mechanix Illustrated. His favorite term for a vehicle like this was “a living room on wheels.”
I saw all yall driving around my neck of the woods , so cool this time of year seeing all the new models first ! Hope you enjoyed our wine 🍷 country, sorry for the rain we needed it!😅😊
No , cus the people who buy an RX drive in suburbia 🏘️ solely. They buy it for its ease of drive and it’s decent to great gas milage. Repurposing this rear wheel drive platform would cause loss of seating and cargo capacity, and it’s a body on frame architecture how would they repurpose it? In these times where mergers are happening to keep cash flow up, redesigning a vehicle that just got a complete redesign two years ago, does make sense. 😊 would love your thoughts if you don’t agree. 👍🏾
Decadent Behemoth. Can’t imagine feeding that Rig with premium fuel let alone buying and insuring. Very good review (well thought through and informative) as always.
Behemoth is good, I like juggernaut. Merriam-Webster says “chiefly British: a large heavy truck.” How fitting. The solution to the premium fuel issue is my Volvo PHEV - I average 8 gallons to go 900 miles a month.
Vehicles like this are not built for the 75%. It’s purpose-built for those who want the “best” and have the money to pay for them. As far as vehicles for the masses, no one really buys them because they generally don’t have all the bells and whistles that people like. If you want those, you have to move up the line and spend more money than you might want. It’s by design and it sucks but that’s the way it is unfortunately.
Great review. It'd be cool to see that hybrid drivetrain in the GX. I just don't see who this is for at that price point with cramped seating and terrible cargo capacity. I think Lexus will sell dozens of the LXs.
i love for you to do a review on the 2025 LAND ROVER DEFENDER S i currently drive the mercedes AMG GLB and i'm thinking about the defender which would be a big switch cause i've driven mercedes. i've had the c-class and e-class and an gla and the glb i have now, what are your opinions? by the i hate that cars are taking away buttons and the shifter, my GLB has the one thats next to the steering wheel and it was ok but i wish they would just go back to a regular shifter.
Thanks for share 🙏🏼 🙏🏼👏👏🏿👏🏾👏🏽👏🏼👏🏻 For the price I hope a car for 20 years without any problems. Only change of oils, filters, gasoline, tires, spark plugs and coolant. 😃 This is better than a Range Rover in size safety with comfortable spaces and reliable engines forna lot of years 💪🏻🩷.
Reduced fuel capacity on Overtrail Hybrid down from 21 ( reg. gas model) to 18 gallons - a bummer, and is going to bite into range it supposedly would otherwise improve upon?
I like the three screens. Better resilience and mitigation against single screen failure. Most people who sit in the LX love the screens, just not Andrea :(
Lx was the first model in current generation of Lexus models, in 2021 they were still experimenting, next NX model already had a much better one screen layout.
As Shania Twain sang "That don't impress me much" ...referring to the LX700h. Your videos are, as always, excellent. I guess I am just not into huge, expensive, SUVs.
Big Valentine to Andrea and Zack! The LX 700h is cheaper than a studio apartment in Vancouver but larger and more practical. Add a small trailer with Starlink, and digital nomads are set to go!
Mmmm, why did you not compare to other vehicles anymore ? For leg room, cargo space, towing, ext ? Also where is the "for your consideration" part comparing to similar vehicles ?
I get that pricing is high, but it's much higher on the "international market" in USD. NEVER LEAVE this truck outside in Canada, it'll be stolen in 5 minutes. Don't buy Lexus trucks for now (GX / LX), you would be amazed at the theft rate. Would be great to have recent data from canadian insurers.
Get the GX w/o the complications of a hybrid, same engine and platform. Same great Lexus quality and re-sale with far lower cost. I own one and love it.
"complications of hybrid" is a myth. Toyota's hybrids, historically, have been as or more reliable than non-hybrids. The GX being a better choice is definitely not a myth
I just don’t see or like the interior of the LX and GX. So hard to see the luxury in those interior. In general Lexus is messing up their interiors imo. The sedan are still nice, even the dated IS/RC interior. Maybe it’s the colour inside of the LX? I feel that Toyota is starting to look more luxurious
Great vehicle for seniors. We got ya something, Memaw. It will protect you in bad weather, it's reliable, and it's a smooth, quiet vehicle that will place you up high so you can see around and behind you.
I wouldn’t say the hybrid is for saving gas, but more so for torque and horsepower. Plug-in hybrid is cumbersome to use, and charged, in comparison to regular hybrid-just pump gas and move-on like usual. I would choose a hybrid too. Maybe a hybrid v6, or v8, but nothing turbo.
It’s more about performance with Toyota. 15 years ago the paired an electric motor with a V8 in the LS600h claiming it put out as much power as a V12 in a comparable Benz S65 or BMW 760i.
@@petertrout7866 Then why did you make a comment about gas mileage when that is NOT the reason the engine is a hybrid. You made an incorrect statement and I corrected you.
Is not about "passing emissions". Toyota as a company wants lower emissions so they make hybrid vehicles. That is their choice. They are preparing for the future where higher emission standards may come into play.

Great and informative as always!🙏🤞👍
If they put this engine system in the rx they’d have suv of the year for a decade
Too bad it wouldn't fit 😢

@@LafemmebearMusic makes sense. The rx is a good car but the engine platform is still out for debate in terms of long term reliability.
The pricing is insane!
Sheiks and dictators worldwide will love it for a beater...
It’s comprible to its competitors, it actually undercuts them some. And remember this will be on the road most often vs the Range Rover
Yeah, bass model is more expensive than a fully loaded BMW X7 m60i!! With the V8. Crazy!
Decadent Behemoth. Can’t imagine feeding that Rig with premium fuel let alone buying and insuring. Very good review (well thought through and informative) as always.
The Escalade uses premium fuel and uses a 6.2L V8. It’s crazy.

Great but Way to expensive for 75% of drivers. Auto makers have got to make vehicles for the masses again.
75% ? More like 99%

What a bargain for these! People should buy 2.

Since luxury sedans have fallen from favor, the LX can replace the iconic LS as the top-tier luxury model in the Lexus stable.
Reduced fuel capacity on Overtrail Hybrid down from 21 ( reg. gas model) to 18 gallons - a bummer, and is going to bite into range it supposedly would otherwise improve upon?
I just bought a lottery ticket
So we finally got a real LC300 in the US. But it’s too expensive!
What’s up with those screen displays? What the hell lexus
I don't like them either.
I like the three screens. Better resilience and mitigation against single screen failure. Most people who sit in the LX love the screens, just not Andrea :(
it's like an afterthought... "Oh.. we should have a bigger screen for navigation... just put it on top, that'll do"

Lx was the first model in current generation of Lexus models, in 2021 they were still experimenting, next NX model already had a much better one screen layout.
Thanks for the excellent review. It is crazy paying that amount of money to get a mediocre interior!
The upper screen looks like an afterthought. Dated already. Hate it.
Agreed, puzzles me why they choose this way for many of their models.
From start this screens and center console looks like crap

Their last video was a Subaru.
This car is purely to flex a brand. Grand highlander top trim does all this for a fraction of cost, off-roading being sole exception.
At THAT price I'll lease a Camry and hire a chauffeur

Overall a 3 out of 10. Sorry. It’s a crazy design. Great show Andrea! 👍🏻👍🏻☕️☕️

The only thing I like is the audio system
3-locking differentials... Lexus has learned their lesson well from the Mercedes Geländewagen.

I cook with gas but an electric igniter is OK.
The front of that car is all grill. 😂. It’s hideous.

There's no way that this vehicle is worth what they're asking. It's just a fluffed up Toyota Sequoia.
Just what I was thinking….
Can i still invest in XAI315K at $0.45? It's going fasttt with no stop in sight
I guess the LC200 was 'expensive,' but this monstrosity is a 'reasonable' price. Yep. Toyota, you've jumped the shark.
Very over priced SUV hybrid
Looks like a bigger Rav 4 inter .
The overtrail should be the new land cruiser...the earth tone paint and smaller wheels cheapens the lexus brand image
Is it true XAI315K is on presale with a 200% bonus? I'm going to buy now
Fot this money u buy Cadillac escalade
This is the first Lexus I would rather lease than own. This would be a b**** to maintain
