If the next course is setback 3/4", then the overlap near the corner is already less than 4", isn't it? It would be 3 1/4". That overlap would be repeated until something is cut. Is 3 1/4" good enough? Thanks.
Hi Mike - Since every additional course gets setback 3/4" in both directions, this maintains a 4" overlap. If you would like to receive technical details illustrating this, please email us at info@versa-lok-midwest.com. Thank you for your interest!
For a modular design system this is petty lame IMO. The moment one does an outside corner you loose the half lap bond stack nothing is more aggravating or displeasing to the eye. Do better and just make a corner piece it’s not rocket science.
Hi Joe, You are correct in that splitting the block in half does not yield a half bond to the wall. But that is also an advantage of VERSA-LOK, as it is not limited to half bond. VERSA-LOK doesn’t require mortar, and there are no vertical joint lines (yes, displeasing to the eye) with a variable bond wall if you stick to 4” minimum overlap. Check out Video 4 about variable bond for more info. Thanks for reaching out and watching our videos!
Would love to see a similar video for the square foot versa-lok block.
Is there a good way to keep half bond when you have an outside corner?

@@VERSALOKMidwest You misunderstand, I am a customer of the product, a half block corner is what I'm asking for.
@@steelyspielbergo you are doing your math backwards.
Exactly I think the same way not a fan of how it throws my joints off
