  • With all of the most recent updates, I am starting to think the MPC LIVE II could be the ultimate groovebox on the market in late 2022. The competition is heating up. Also made a beat from scratch, a bit of a movie soundtrack sort of thing. Hope you enjoy!

    For me the MPC really changed my entire sound. I’m cracked at every daw and find myself getting bored looking at organizing squares on a screen and subliminally using similar sounds over and over. Once I made the switch it felt… FUN! Just bop your head and 15 minutes later you got a beat. I feel like you can really tune into what you’re doing ✨

    Arranger view would be amazing! I have the MPC One and the MPC space seems to be geared towards making beats, but it is very powerful in song creation. Being able to export stems is something many other grooveboxes have.

    You can use it to play records (tt-input) or as a small guitar practice amp. The concept of the MPC (standalone with battery) is great and the touchscreen is a joy to use.

    Akai really are in a league of their own, I have an mpc live with minirig speakers, so an MPC live 2 but with better speakers and I have an Akai force that I think is almost perfect if you have limited space but don't want portable, it's come a long way since they first bought it out. I also have a Maschine plus which I am waiting on a ripcord so that I can take that outside with a powerpack and the already mentioned Minirig 3 speakers,(They are a bit special too) but I think the Maschine plus is struggling against the Akai's but I am trying to give it some love 👏👏😉😎😎

      That live and minirig 3 setup sounds rad!

      @iamrocketray 2 года назад +1

      @@DylanParisMusic HiYa! I don't like integrated speakers, I prefer a separates solution and Minirig are the best, even got a subwoofer in the post BUT they are not cheap, the batteries last longer than the MPC Lives batteries, and of course you can use them with other sound sources and they are wired so no latency.

    Nice video again!
    And nice jam beat thing too.
    Yeah, the MPC is finally sounding the way you would want it to sound!
    Too bad it will set me back another € 500,- if I had an MPC, but we can agree on that one.
    At least it is nice to have these great key sounds at your fingertips!

    Great video. I think you hit on a lot of good points here about the MPC lineup. I think the versatility that they have is truly underrated- regardless of how you like to make music, the MPC can make itself useful to you in some fashion, and fairly easily. I Still think the reason that you go out and buy one is the best in class sampling experience, and I hope and pray Akai never looses sight of that. That being said, I love the way Akai has continued to push the envelope with this hardware... Now, if they could just improve the time stretch algorithm and implementation in standalone.... Lol

    The MPC Live is amazing and can do more than the OP-1 Field of course. I own the OP-1 Field. I had the Live 2. So I can say yes MPC Live is more of a full daw like workstation in a box. However, that said the OP-1 Field is more about fun and I found sound designing in it better than the Live 2. Now the new plugins in the MPC are opening up that ability but the MPC isn’t as portable as people make it out to be. I still love it. They are different for sure.

  • @heffe4257
    @heffe4257 2 года назад +1

    Having the plus and live 2. The live 2 is just more fun to create in. The new plugins have been enticing me, because compared to ni sounds, Akai can’t win.
    And I don’t know why, but when I make music on the live 2, everything sounds so much better while I’m making it.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  2 года назад

      That’s so fair dude! It sounds like the MPC workflow and sound matches more with your style, it’s a dope machine so I totally understand

      @@DylanParisMusic It goes back and forth man. I loved using Splice with the Live, but now it doesn’t work. I ended up downgrading back to 2.10 and its buggy as hell. The Plus is so much smoother now (like you said in your video) than when I had it a year ago though. So many great sounds. If they add ported play series, it’s over.

    I first got MC-707 which I still have and enjoy but it's a bit tedious to make songs with some external audio. I will say that out of the box MC-707 has better quality sounds than MPC One/Live 2 does. However, if you get newer MPC additions like Fabric, Opx4, etc they really improved their sounds.
    I finally got an MPC Live 2 this year and I have no regrets. It took me a few weeks and tons of RUclips videos to learn it but once I got familiar it became more fun. It's the main hub of my home studio setup. It pairs nicely with MC-707 and the rest of my gear.
    The only thing that gets to me sometimes is the whole program connected to a track thing. There have been many times where I change a part like a chorus bass plugin and it ends up putting it on the verses too even though I used a different sound for them. Then I remember oh yeah I need a new program created for each plugin used. So I hope in the future they find a way to make MPCs even easier to use and more intuitive. For now they're as you stated, the "swiss army knife" of stand alone grooveboxes.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  2 года назад +1

      Agreed on that program track thing for sure, the way the Force handles that is way more intuitive for me for sure, but it's a hefty boy

    Why the op1 is so expensive? Another question please assuming you had only an mpc for hip hop. What would be your two next gear or investment to push your level up as a top producer.

    • @DylanParisMusic
      @DylanParisMusic  2 года назад +1

      Op1 is expensive cause TE knows people will pay that price for it. For the other question, that is tricky. I would really recommend someone have a computer with a DAW for mixing and mastering. But technically speaking if I could only get 2 more pieces of gear I'd get a microphone and an audio interface as I write full songs not just beats.

      Yes MPCs are samplers first and foremost. They are meant for you to load sounds in them. This new generation of MPCs we have now, just happen to support vst plugin instruments and, can autosampler hardware to create keygroups to spread across keyboard ranges just as older keyboard samplers (i. e. ASR-10s).

    Hey, i was watching a lot of your content, what irritating me is how you sold all hardware gear a year ago and now you come up with these devices again, but there is no comment why you come back.. it would be interesting why you came back to hardware again, and why the same devices you sold?
