That small snare drum on his left is amazing. How do people judge toms when it sounds like they have no live properties? Tupperware. I've heard this on other brands too. Not knocking Mapex.

Another beastly performance by the great Rashid. Wow I love Mapex drums. They are so underrated. The Best Portnoy sounded was Mapex. IMO you won't find a better snare and bass combo. MAPEX all the way. I have a couple drum covers on my channel and MAPEX carried it.

@@drumlover1687 take a look at a couple my drum covers. They are not the best quality but the drums do shine through. She's Got the Look is the best one but Anyway You Want It you can hear the toms. Oh and if you have any ideas please let me know and I will. Thank you.

What’s the Zildjan cymbal (hi hat looking one?) he’s playing on that opening verse? It sounds like a rattle sort of. But it’s so sick I love it.

Looks like a 10" Onyx, but it's a Black Chrome, if you pay attention to a certain angle where the light catches it.
I think Mapex has been missing the mark lately. I was a die-hard Mapex saturn fan for a long time, but aside from the shell materials they are really no longer recognizable to me as Saturns. I'm glad Mapex keeps experimenting, though, and it makes sense that while progressing things change. I think Tama's current starclassic line-up is the closest sound and playing feel to the pre-rebrand Saturns and I've since switched to them. Sound aside, the *FEEL* is really what felt lost with the transition to Saturn IV and has only gotten worse each year instead of better.
