#evergreen #chia #crypto #CPUMINING #CRYPTO Наука
I’m glad I got on the train I love your videos they are super helpful and always super interesting to learn from someone with good knowledge
Glad you like them!
I used to farm my 26TB with a Raspberry PI and the CHIA network started to face some attacks called DUST STORM, it was so bad at the time, Raspberry PIs could not keep up with the blockchain update. At some point they managed to fix it by releasing an optimized CLI version of the CHIA wallet.
Later on, my SD Card was not big enough to store the full blockchain, so i had to buy a new one. So keep an eye on your SD card space lol
Evergreen uses a light farmer and does not store a copy of the blockchain and as such dust storms do not affect it. The Evergreen Miner does not use any of the Chia code.
"Waste of time and space" this should be correct tagline
No do not use your private key to import your wallet, just make a new wallet and transfer it to your original wallet. Evergreen chia is an awesome idea but they are new and potentially untrusted. "Not your keys, not your crypto"
You do not need to use the wallet feature of Evergreen Miner. The wallet is based on the open source library Chia Crypto Utils which provides a foundation for many of the mobile wallets in the Chia ecosystem. If you prefer to use a different wallet ignore this part of the app and simply set your payout address as appropriate.
@@evergreenminer good to know, thank you
Thanks a lot Rabid, you're the man!
Thx :)
It's tough to admit for some this is more profitable than GPUs, and more sustainable
Ya true was surprised when I did the profit section lol
Just like GPUs right now, XCH farming is ROI never.
Even excluding electricity cost, your hard drives are more likely to fail before they ever get ROI.
And these evergreen miners are ridiculously priced. All they've done is plot the drive and put it into a fancy case.
@@Thomas.5020 The software being very easy to use has a value. Maybe not to you, but to some people it does.
Agree ease of use plug and play is worth the extra cost over getting more hardware and plotting yourself. Really they aren't a huge extra cost either.
@@Thomas.5020 with that thinking it sounds like you never expect crypto prices to go back up. The point is buying miners cheap now while the market is low. The same kadena box miner that was going for thousands of dollars is now $250. It's an investment for the future. Buying miners in the bull market is a terrible idea. Buy low and mine away and sell profits during bull markets and maybe even the miners during bull markets and roi multiple times over
So it would take like 3/4 years to Roi at this price ?
amazing!
More profitable than GPUs, low bar ? :) Great coverage always Rabid.
Thx
Nice video rabid
Thx :)
Wouah! $0.14/daily. Before electricity.
Let's say this is what you have on a daily basis with this beginner set up.
Hardware cost? Pi and HDD? $399 on Evergreen (without the 5% discount).
At $0.2/day, your ROI takes 1,995 days or 5.4 years before you can say you make some profit... One can only hope Chia price will go up... But then, same as everyting. the difficulty will increase and it will take longer to mine one chia...
Not sure I would call this really "worth it"...
However, absolutely agree that GPU mining is all in red... So this does bring a bit of profit, even $0.20/day :)
Prob better of just buying the coin
How do I use the discount code? Don’t see a spot for it got all the way to where it’s asking for payment
6 cent power =6.8 years or 2500 days for roi. What is it at 10 or 15 cent rate where i am its 29 cents and with exchange rate it costs alot more.
Expensive rabid :)
How do I link expansion to starter kit? When buying the expansion kit they don't ask for farmer key or contract key, do you have to email them later with this info?
Waiting on trying to figure that out think it's based on your account in the evergreen app
Not only is this more profitable, and more sustainable than mining with your graphics card, Chia is the MOST decentralized crypto coin out there.
I don't get the math. You spent $598 (excluding tax/shipping) for 22TB that makes $0.20 a day after power consumption. So if everything stays constant, it will take you 8.19 years to ROI on the cost of your Evergreen miners. That seems ridiculous...
So what’s your thoughts? Gonna fall into your temptation to buy some more rigs and diversify into chia? Or you think you may even try some custom builds for it?
If I go into chia more woukd probably just get more expansions to this honestly bit more expensive but not much and ready to go on delivery.
You need to make a video on how to build a complete PC set up with used parts for Chia. This raspberry pi is a novelty that has a long ROI.
The Raspberry Pi is the lowest power computer you can possibly use. Using used parts may be cheaper since you already own them but the power cost will outstrip those earnings pretty rapidly.
@@evergreenminer Which is the reason why you guys decided to use Raspberry Pis for that exact reason. Awesome work guys!
@@evergreenminer Given the rumours around plot 2.0 and gpu plotting. Any plans for a jetson nano version, with the extra 128 gpu cores. It'd also give room to cycle TB farmed with difficulty like gpu miners do with hash rate.
ROFL, are you serious dude? $499 for a 16TB drive? ROI NEVER. Maybe spend 60 seconds and order some drives and set one up the right way instead of giving these companies a 50% margin on drives.
Went through it all in the video isn't actually much more then doing it yourself and rdy to go on arrival without a decent pc needed to plot.
How to setup on windows Usb Block Erupter
I'm new to all this stuff. Is it possible to put, for example, TWO setups in two different locations that would mine coin to the same wallet?
Yup for sure
Yup for sure
Can you connect your plotted HDD to evergreen miner?
Not sure don't think so
Evergreen its the easy way to farm chia but for those that like building pcs or servers it can be a LOT cheaper to do it by ploting and farming with chia software...or just buy drives with plots for your farmer public key...
Thats just plug and play...
Started with 50tb...now more that 1Pib and the math dose not lie, love it or hate it but math is math....
Nice 1pib!!!
How much a month are you making?
If it wasn’t for the constant free fall of xch’s price since ICO last year, this would have been on everyone’s radar the whole time.
What ICO?
Charts are saying the free fall stoped. In fact MARKETCAP is constant, the price drops, but supply increases. Its just that until the halving of Chia in 2 years.
@@TheNemaa I’ve been farming chia since fall of last year when it was in the 200’s. The price will drop a little, level for a bit and then drop again, rinse and repeat cycle. I hope the free fall has stopped. The only thing keeping it profitable is that many have given up farming as the price has fallen. If this is a level off in the low 30s that is truly bottom, then awesome. Ive seen this pattern way too many times at this point. I’m a longer term hodler, but I would have been better off to date dumping it as I earned it.
@@Michael-jl6mh the coin initially started selling at $872, jumped to $1600, and then has been in a free fall since.
@@maschlauICO never happen. the conditions you observed are all due to low circulation in the beginning and following inflation. the team just announced and proved that all coins they are hold are locked by smart contract. anyway, buying XCH in the beginning two years is stupid, XCH has no staking mechanism and would have a serious inflation.....it's just similar to most of PoW.
Good video rabid, info is there, in a bear market it's hard to find something profitable.
thanks :)
I have 64tb of hard drive space. I mine 0.025 chia a day so I make 1 chia every 40 days. I don't see an ROI in the short term for the hardware investment but just like anything, maybe it could rebound in price.
For sure who knows what the future holds but at current value and the power use it blows gpus away in the current market.
Yes, the profitability of Chia mining is very tied to the price of the coin. Anything above $15 USD is theoretically profitable depending on your electricity cost.
That is an ROI in about 9 years factoring in electricity, for the exciting 16 cents a day. You can make 10x more than that without consuming electricity daily with bonds even at their worst rates
I'm interested in trying Chia farming, but I would want to get paid directly in BTC, as that's what I'm interested in holding long-term, and I prefer having the pool do the conversion for me. As far as I can tell, none of the Chia pools offer payout in BTC though.
Correct would have to swap yourself
@@RabidMining Yeah, I might just have to suck it up and convert it myself. Although I'm not sure where I'd do that. I've used TradeOgre in the past to convert other coins to BTC but they don't seem to have XCH listed.
Are the hard drives useable for storage? I hadn't heard of 'hard drive mining' until yesterday.
Could probably rip it apart and format it for storage
@@RabidMining Is that a no?
Am not sure as they come full of plots to farm chia
@@RabidMining is it possible to convert/swap XCH for USDT
Ya think so gotta see what exchanges it's all on.
400TB here, on EU, xch is very very profitable. Even more, on the non-hyper era of the coin.the 1600usd was just plain stupind over hyped price. Never was the actual price of it. I'll keep expanding as much as possible. When tue bull run and xch starts going up, the hdd prices going to ramp up, and the netspace also. Stop all my gpus and sold all but 2 :D
u pooing or solod? have 340 tb
@@manitsony6703 got a Block on the 860usd price, that i sold out. Then when i hit 20xch, reinvested in more 18tb drives. Now um just hodlin, hoping to get more drives on Black friday :) and the future plot compression will be great
@@brunoalex2877 its very addictive.. i know when i see hdd on used market here always grab some more.. now u solo or poooling??
@@brunoalex2877 Plot compression is useless. U wont get more XCH if everyone compress also. Ull get the same amount of XCH in time.
@@TheNemaa Issue is that not eveyone will replot. And who uses compression will have more advantage, since you're getting more plots, thus, present more "bingo cards" and you'll get more.
I understand your point, ppl with a rack full of server grade compute will have a lead, but that applied in everything , either plot compression, or even now
Can you buy the miner and then add ur own hard drive to it?
Not sure
A Raspberry Pi and 6TB Drive for $300. Pricey
12tb its not really that much more then just doing it yourself and some people like to have stuff ready to go so it saves time. Sure you can save a bit doing your own plotting but plug and play is a big seller.
How much chia does it make a month ? I saw the daily chia was 0.043 in the video ? Was that accurate ? 0.043x30 says about 1.29 chia a month ?
That's with 24tb ya
That's with 24tb ya
That is not bad if the price is at $30. So you are making $30 a month on 24tb ? It doesn’t add up when I do the math.
Big time fan by the way, love your RUclips videos :)
No it's like 7 bucks a month at current price 0.0081 per day right now

The smartest way right now is just get $300 and buy Chia from exchange. Approximately 30 coins with no headache.
I didn’t get any chia when I set up and have been mining and haven’t got any coins
Have you checked your address at flexpool?
Very interesting ❤ Have @evergreen also a warehouse in EU or only in the US? ‘Cause import and customs costs are really high…
Did you find a seller in the EU?
@@expandiguniverse nope... I reached out Evergreen, they told me that they are working on an EU warehouse, but it's going to take a while
Who knows which size of plots inside? if 100Gb, then what to do with this miners when network will accept 200Gb or more?
The chia team talked about that many times...108gb are k32 plots that will be in use at least 5 years...
Check out the AMA they do on the chia yt channel, there they talk about that and all the future of chia...
@@slimpt This is the essence of the question, what plots are inside, whether it will be necessary to disassemble and replots in 5 years...
@@it-tula4078 We're currently plotting k32
whats not clear for me, is If this is so much better than PoW, why aren't we seing more adoption ?
because most miners doesn't even know that there is more than PoW XD
You could pick up a Heium miner for less than this thing and make 4x that and it uses even less power.
This is a different kind of blockchain technology. The point of the video was that Chia is starting to become way more profitable than GPU mining, while using only 12-15 watts of power.
I feel sad for anyone who is ignorant enough to think that buying a Helium miner still makes any kind of sense.
WOW..! Starter Kit Pro $2,799.00 Price and the ROI must be a good 10 years or better. I'm gonna bite. I have unlimited power with my rent.. and a Solar system. Wish me luck even in this bear market.
Well.. I am getting my toes wet. Just got my starter kit up and running today. I emailed them late yesterday and then today one of the tech support guys must have emailed about 20 times going back and forth, but persistence paid off.. he had me reflash it and start fresh.. had some hiccups along the way.. but it's running now. Chia is up to $46.62 as I write this now. Let's see how long this takes to get there.. Then MAYBE upgrade to some more disks.. So I'm now mining 3 CPU's, 4GPU's, KDA Box, Mini Doge, 2 USB stick miners and a Bobcat 300. Whew.. Stick miners and Chia running off solar.
so just another deeper network ?
bruh no way they selling 12tb wd elements hdd and pi4 for 300$
Now, you have an app connected to your network that you have no idea about the code behind. And for a sweet bonus, you can enjoy paying a premium for the drive and be trapped in their ecosystem.
Farmland is not your farmland, because you need your information to plot, it is the official farmland to pay you in proportion.
You know hell froze over when chia is more profitable than GPUs...
Btw. aren't those miners based on small ARM chipsets very susceptible to dust storms? (thing in chia where someone sends bazzilion almost empty transactions and overload the network).
Also the database file is like 170GB
Evergreen responded to a previous comment on the subject sounds like it's not a issue with these.
its the full node that gets heavily impacted by the duststorm, evergreen only run a farmer/harvester, so not impacted by dust storms, and no fullnode database
93GB not 170GB. Database v2
Dust storms simulate full network utilization. They arent a bad thing and eth usually has full blocks.
I've tried chia at the beginning, difficulty just went BRUH, no point in mining chia if you don't have TONS of TB.
Network has dropped a lot
Remember Burst coin? lol..
Not sure if I remember that one.
This is rip off just buy a 16 tb hdd and create the plots yourself its 1/4 the price.. Space Pool is better for mining pools. I have 100tb and have been mining since the start profitability is low I regret not selling when I hit chia at 700usd :(
Helium all over again?
Heres what I dont get... I know this works bc my friend has three of them and but heres my question and FRUSTRATION. My internet speed is 1.2GB so its pretty damn fast. My total plots are 72 Terabytes now. Not one damn coin or a quarter lol. SO How can this tiny little guy make a certain income per month and some of us have been doing this for years and not a dollar. I'm asking bc I build computers and need to know the specs.
What do you mean not one coin? You have 72tb farming and not earning anything? You on solo or pool?
Can someone explain how making $2 a day on a $3000 investment makes sense? over a 4 year payback, and then what, make under a grand a year? I am genuinely curious
Short sighted, anything looking at Bear Market roi is way off and also comes down to use case and if you believe in a coin.
Chances are chia will tank well before ne gets their ROI
Sounds like it would take over 5 years for the machine to just pay itself off. No daily profitability if you take that into account
when this gets to 2 PiB let me know
Just why, like seriously, unless you already happen to have all the equipment for Chia mining. But those look like ASICs, so most people would have to buy one. A dollar a day or something? An 300 dollars, plus shipping? Just why? Why not spend 40 dollars a month on a crypto trading bot and make more money with the 300 dollars? Or lp funds? Just why?
Yes I agree. With Chia mining at ROI of several years on this the money could be invested in something with steady earnings right away. I've had good luck with crypto bot trading.
@@rongipp9874 Can you recommend a good trading bot? Thanks
I have this product is good. BUT company is junk took over 2 months to get ask several times to cancel. Told they refused and to just wait.
looks good but ROI is forever i dont see anything big even if .3$ a day = 1000 days ROI? we wont even know if chia making it back to 100$ forget 1000$ .... ur own risk
And to think GPUs is even worse.
Better off to take the money from a rig and just buy chia
6.6 years till break even.
The drives will die well before than.
The HDD barely get used. The data is written only once when we plot it and read only when a plot passes filter and/or to generate a point for the pool.
4:12 did you say ethernet wrong, all credibility is gone. lets go boys grab some stones we gotta take this dude out :P
Lol
Fo sho. E-pock, proffability, and now EH-thernet. 🤣
Actually I recently looked up alternate pronunciations for "epoch" and that happens to be one (the Canadian way?). I never heard anyone pronounce it as "e-pock" until I met Rabid. 😊
:)
@@rubikscubie savages we should let the inuits take back the land
Wonder why chia is not on major exchanges
🤣 thats Bram not giving a Funk about the price and only about the tec...
Feom what i can see he is refusing to pay them to list xch...yes coins/projects pay to be listed!
Kucoin and CoinEx are adequate for now.
XCH doesnt need exchanges, there is offer function, it is actually built-in decentralized exchange crypto
60 Tb makes $ 0. 65 a day lol.. so bad investment
So about 30 cents a day max : (
That’s better than most bud
That's with hardly any space as well making the same as a 3070 with free power.
The amount that can be earned is directly proportional to the total amount of space you devote to mining. Each 10TB of HDD space earns about 10 cents of XCH each day when Chia trades at $30. This linearly scales. If you devote 100TB of space you earn $1.00 per day.
You can resale a GPU but the miner becomes obsolete in 6 months.
Resale value I don't care about as a miner I mine till it dies or turn of and store till it's profitable again.
you can open it up and resell the rasberry pi or harddrive. Its not an asic just put together in a small easy to use format.
True story actually lol
@@RabidMining
Standard PC set up has more resale value.
The components of the Evergreen Miner are a high density HDD and a Raspberry Pi 4. Each of these has a resale value which is non-zero depending on market conditions.
looks like a scam haha
What a gimmick
next time mention this is a sponsored video.
its clear you didnt researched about chia mining and just trying to sell their product.
theres no need to use a chia miner to mine chia. this is just a cash grab.
SO what we go out and sell the GPU's and buy this sht? what is profit anyway ? its bear market. yes rabit so I am not cpu mining or other nonsence. So far got 1000 flux since merge and 100.000 kaspa, (flux, ergo, kaspa will be worthing so much money ) we just need people to leave cyptomining.hopefully 2023 will wipe out the small miners.
I understand you gotta make money somehow with sponsors and shit but don't shill bullshit like this man... anyone with a pc can buy the hard drive and plot themselves over time for half or even less than half of the price of this. if you have a cpu mining rig, just plug in a few 12tb cheap hard drives to it and a cheap nvme to plot with, you're all good. if you wanna expand, buy another hdd, plot, ready to farm. there's no need to pay for this box with a shitty raspberry pi in it
I went threw that in the video
looked at the USD prices and if you want the real world numbers to upgrade 64TB of just buying cheapest 8TB HDD and plotting yourself it would be $960USD thats new sure can find used stuff. To buy a evergreen 64TB upgrade its $1,045 so a extra $85 bucks and your up and running instant vs waiting weeks to plot it all out. To plot fast gotta add in a lot more to the home price of building a good PC to do so. Sometimes ease of use is worth it to some people and 85 bucks with no waiting time is pretty good.
A Raspberry Pi 4 is a very capable computer which minimizes the cost of power relative to farming Chia. It is the most economical way to run a farm 24/7. If you use a different computer you may be drawing 100 to 300 W of electricity which makes it hard to turn a profit.
Rapid, you promote bullshit here.
This is not how profitable chia mining works. Believe me, we are planned, build and operating more then 50Petabytes farms.
Chia is a way more handwork compared to GPU/CPU mining.
Even the expansion packs…how will you connect mire then 4 to the „base station“.
As i said, this is expensive crap. Take your responsibility to the community!
are powered usb hubs can link over 10-20 per device maybe more the 160TB expansion is 10 units can plug into one base with the USB kit looking in the USA to buy 160tb its 26.6 6TB drives at $89.99 bucks each for pcpartpickers cheapest drives its $2399 to buy evergreens yes it is more at $2699 a extra 300 bucks but they are plug and play when you get them and don't have to do any plotting yourself or need plotting hardware. Also lots looking at them are about ease not to build massive farms. What works for some doesn't mean its for everyone.
@@RabidMining To be more precise: Rasp4 = 17 USB-Devices and Rasp3 = 50 USB-Devices. Obviously they use a Rasp4.
The plots: Good Point! Farmerkey, contractkey, OG-Plots. So what do they use? Would it ok for you if i give you my mining software and earn a percentage without let you know?
And what was the most important thing we learned? Never feed out your 24 word seed. And certainly not into an app.
I don't know if I got it right, but so easy peasy to type your mnemonic like it's the most normal thing.....as I said. You have a see big responsibility to your followers. You can't just dismiss that with a disclaimer. I don't want to criticize you, but I think it's important that you youtubers are aware of this responsibility at all times. Especially with new technologies for you.
Peace out and keep up the good work.
@@Strangerwithoutaname bro stfu man, you cant even speak english correctly

24tb, I have 2.5 chia in 18 months or so
Went threw the numbers 22tb is making more then a 3070 with free power research done.
A waste of time
The amount of time it takes to earn a single XCH is directly proportional to the amount of storage you have devoted to mining. The more space you have the more you earn per day. If you have 300TB of space you will earn 1 XCH in 10 days.
