    I used to farm my 26TB with a Raspberry PI and the CHIA network started to face some attacks called DUST STORM, it was so bad at the time, Raspberry PIs could not keep up with the blockchain update. At some point they managed to fix it by releasing an optimized CLI version of the CHIA wallet.
    Later on, my SD Card was not big enough to store the full blockchain, so i had to buy a new one. So keep an eye on your SD card space lol

    • @evergreenminer
      @evergreenminer Год назад +4

      Evergreen uses a light farmer and does not store a copy of the blockchain and as such dust storms do not affect it. The Evergreen Miner does not use any of the Chia code.

      You do not need to use the wallet feature of Evergreen Miner. The wallet is based on the open source library Chia Crypto Utils which provides a foundation for many of the mobile wallets in the Chia ecosystem. If you prefer to use a different wallet ignore this part of the app and simply set your payout address as appropriate.

    Wouah! $0.14/daily. Before electricity.
    Let's say this is what you have on a daily basis with this beginner set up.
    Hardware cost? Pi and HDD? $399 on Evergreen (without the 5% discount).
    At $0.2/day, your ROI takes 1,995 days or 5.4 years before you can say you make some profit... One can only hope Chia price will go up... But then, same as everyting. the difficulty will increase and it will take longer to mine one chia...
    Not sure I would call this really "worth it"...
    However, absolutely agree that GPU mining is all in red... So this does bring a bit of profit, even $0.20/day :)

I emailed them late yesterday and then today one of the tech support guys must have emailed about 20 times going back and forth, but persistence paid off.. he had me reflash it and start fresh.. had some hiccups along the way.. but it's running now. Chia is up to $46.62 as I write this now. Let's see how long this takes to get there.. Then MAYBE upgrade to some more disks.. So I'm now mining 3 CPU's, 4GPU's, KDA Box, Mini Doge, 2 USB stick miners and a Bobcat 300. Whew.. Stick miners and Chia running off solar.

To buy a evergreen 64TB upgrade its $1,045 so a extra $85 bucks and your up and running instant vs waiting weeks to plot it all out. To plot fast gotta add in a lot more to the home price of building a good PC to do so. Sometimes ease of use is worth it to some people and 85 bucks with no waiting time is pretty good.

      A Raspberry Pi 4 is a very capable computer which minimizes the cost of power relative to farming Chia. It is the most economical way to run a farm 24/7. If you use a different computer you may be drawing 100 to 300 W of electricity which makes it hard to turn a profit.
