He found a way to keep andrew on his back foot and unable to sweep, reverse, or sub. And he showed that while maintaining his position, he was getting closer to successfully passing and securing top position. Very good match by both.
Wiltse is a good wrestler. The shot was there. Personally I think they should have both been called for stalling. Guaresi had no intention of actually passing the guard.
Why didn't Andrew stand up and work for a takedown from there. Instead of always trying to come up for a sweep.tkd from the seated position? Was his opponent a really good wrestler
I am also very curious, Andrew this time is very very cautious, maybe he was very tried from last game or he was somehow injured(not comfortable at somepoint)
If I remember it correctly he had a back injury (not sure) that kept him from going for takedown. He commented on a another match from this tournament here on RUclips on why he wasn't so active.
@Jake if it were like that then a lot of finals matches would be ties. And then there would be no one who wins. It happens to often that’s why there are 1-3 referees to decide a winner based on who they think did better and who is more deserving of the medal.

Both Jeferson & Andrew are so good. I wonder how a rematch would turn out 😊

I agree I don't understand what was his end game here, I am sure he could have won this match with his aggressiveness

Appreciate this match and much to take away from it 👍
Go wiltse! And bird too
Worst final of all time?
it might be a technical victory but no one should be happy with themselves after getting schooled at guard retention like that for a whole match
meh :(
sad but glad Andrew didnt really lose. I was like how he lost ? Then this match show. No submssion no win.
@Jake yes, been watching sub only for a while XD
Guaresi ADV
Wiltse
That sucked
Jeferson guy didn't win... period. Does not matter what the scorecard say
He clearly did and every one knows it there including Blackbelts, the refs and even Andrew he nodded his head at the end he knows he didn’t do enough.
@@arodmcgraw94 you are right, I just said it because I am a big Andrew fan and I definitely know jeferson won by point.
Peace out.

i would honestly be embarassed if my guard passing attempts were shutdown that easily, theres no way to feel like a victor from this
